Fried rice as we know it is very colourful and boiled gizzard is normally used to add some brown colour and proteins. Liver has become so scarce and expensive that one needs to be creative. I cooked this fried rice without liver but boiled, diced gizzard and it turned out perfect. This Naija gizzard fried rice is something I'll suggest we all try making this weekend and watch our family and friends lick fingers and cutlery. wink

NAIJA FRIED RICE INGREDIENTS:
1. 3 cups basmati rice
2. 1 table spoon curry
3. seasoning cubes plus monosodium glutamate (white maggi)
4. Salt
5. Beef stock
6. 1 small plate green peas
7. 3 medium sized onion
8. I large red bell pepper (tatashey)
9. One medium sized green pepper
10. 4 large carrots
1. 12 pieces cooked gizzard

Me too but sometimes, I try to eat something different by giving it that tumeric colour or just white with vegetables.

I hope you know that the usage of MSG (monosodium glutamate) what you call white maggi is quite controversial. It has been linked to many adverse side effects and hypersensitivity among those who consume it often.

Here in Canada all foods that contain that ingredient must be properly labelled and all restaurants that use that ingredient must warn their customers. His very popular in Asian cuisine. Many Asian restaurants where I live have just opted to stop utilizing the ingreodnet because of the health alerts.

Just letting you know, please do some research into that ingredient before utilizing it again. Or perhaps limit your intake. Just a heads up.
