Why is Lagos always blessed with Governors that are good in development?

Even in the u.s, some roads are built with "interlocking stones" Others are built with concrete (casted in situ). So what the hell are u talking about. You're not an engineer anyway. So what do you know?

This is like sooooo backward in my opinion. Almost like when blacks back in the day sold themselves for mirrors and shhh.

Though I applaud the strides Lagos is making, even though the pace is below par, my gripe is all this useless fan-fare.

So a whole minister of power, works and housing, along with the finance minister had to tag along with a whole VP to commission a road built with interlocking stones

What kind of message does this really pass across

Ambode, ever since you painted those police cars and pasted the 112 number on them, I've given u props, but this right here is B.S men and you should know it.

I wish for you to step up your game so much so that you get to a point were things like these sort of roads don't even need to be commissioned.

A project like Eko Atlantic is worthy of commissioning. A space programme, refinery, research facilities, education for all... These are things worth commissioning in my humble opinion, not inner roads built with interlocking stones.

and Who told u interocking stones are obsolete..

Roads are constructed based on the type of soil and other conditions at d site...

Most roads with high proportion of sand uses interlocking stones

Though u kinda ryt....
a "mere commissioner" could have been sent to commission such

In addition to your points, this road was near 65℅ completion before fashola handed over. It just completion. Most projects that ambo is making noise about today. Were projects started by fashola.

Thank God PMB cancelled the trip. Too much noise.

From my own point of view, I see this as a nonsense in the sense that the road is not a new one that worth to be commissioned. Take a look at the road very well, you will see that the bricks are old ones. They employed painters to give the culverts a new look with black and white paints. Even if it is new, I see it as a state project in a small capacity that doesnt need to invite a whole vice-president of a country to come and commission...... If other states emulate this idea, I believe that the vice-president will never have a rest during his 4yrs tenor.

To cap it all, it is a means to tell us that the present government is working........ Is this the right thing for now?

I thought i was the only one reasoning this way...To be Honest, this is not the Lagos Way......I expect us to Progress not regress.....Ambode might not really perform as much as Fashola....He's got the mindset of a Local government Chairman....

Fashola enjoy Crude Oil allocation at $120/$140 while Ambode enjoy allocation at $30/$40.

See d differences.

It didnt take them 5 years...Fashola's govt was taken to court which granted an injunction restraining LASG. Fashola kept harping on it that the few people who went to court were punishing many.

Ambode has done the right thing to give it the priority when he took over but all these roads should be commisioned by Local govt chairmen & not even governor

If Vice President, ministers, Governors and every other rogue out there could converge to commission Ago Palace Way, I guess we need Jesus to Commission Lagos-Ibadan Experess way when it's finished.

I even saw where these sycophantic criminals carved Muhammed Buhari along the road.
What can these people not do just to be allowed to continue stealing.

Not ready for Nuclear energy, Not ready for Subsidy removal, Not ready to diversify, Not ready to buy made in Nigeria, When do we ever get ready?

A country that cannot even secure its oil pipelines from vandalism is in no way ready for Nuclear. How do you plan to secure Uranium supplies? Radiation kills at a distance without you knowing you've been exposed.

I love the picture where BRF stands in the background. It perfectly illustrates the flows of power and the maturity needed to handle power. For those belittling the visit of PMB ( via VPYO) they fail to understand the importance of conversations on the sidelines and restrict the strategic importance of the trip to cutting yellow ribbons. As important and symbolic as photo ops go, Lagos is holding serious talks with the Presidency including the Federal rights of way for the blue line, reimbursement of money paid by the state for federal construction works and the ongoing " special status" Lagos has been seeking for the last 8 years.

I fully expect such concepts as described to fly over the head of those either given over to polarity based arguments as well as those who copied other people's projects in university. For the latter, independent and critical thought is too onerous. Far easier to jump on the gravy train of abuse and ridicule.

Thinking can be hard; more so, independent thinking.

All this back and forth tribal slurs will take nobody Nowhere . It will only keep you at nairaland level . If someone makes a statement that you don't like , simply ignore . You haven't defended your tribe in anyway . You have simply displayed childishness and vast immaturity . I see a lot of crap written about my people igbos but I don't jump down from the sky and throw punches like a native superman . Every tribe offends one another (Kids Stuff) . Be a big boy and look the other way . You can misspell igbos the wrong way , it aint funny and it doesn't change anything about us . And I don't condone my people insulting your people in anyway too . Am an igbo guy dating a yoruba girl ( and I love her) my sister is married to one . So Grow up man . And stop all these tribal sarcastic stunts you guys always try to pull . The developed world is too busy to notice such rants . I believe if you are grown and smart , you will take these the matured way
Tell am well well. I am Yoruba and I can't understand where that comment of his came from. And thanks for not going that route he is trying to take the thread. I too have sisters who are married to Igbos. The whole inter-tribal free-for-all- fights between the two tribes here is just really sickening. You wake up one day and discover no one ever told you you are supposed to hate the other tribe. Really sickening. I am writing on it. It will be my first thread on here. Very mumu something.

Honestly we need to grow up
why must they commission every thing
POliticians are elected into office to manage state resources and develop it thats their job so i see no reason for commissioning projects which is actually their job.
Does commissioning it add value to the project?
and at the end of the day they spend ridiculous amount

1 Was king Jaja of Opobo or some Lunatic from the Eastern Region, even it didn't end there , I read on Wikipedia that the Forefathers of them Yeebos asked for Ogogoro ( an imported brandy of some sorts ) and cabin biscuits( some sailors packed and wrapped foods, not really CABIN as a brand name when Oyinbos discovered crude oil in the region, I will find the writeup

2 Who for come comission am, your Brother ?? cos he surprise me o

3 Yorubas have learnt to crawl befor walking and thereafter running . Na so we like am, thank you enh, God bless

You just spoke like a fool ... igbos have the highest population in that area . So Bleep off ...... did you even read what he said . He is proud to be a lagosian and has problem with them calling for the president to commision things like that and he made an example of what he feels would be cool for the president to come .
