caprini1: Well from what people who live there were saying, you may not be far from the truth......looking from it from the othersude too, u dont think it was worth the presence of the vp. it could have been done low key...the worst is that they even denied people movement until later, closed down the market and had to destroy shops and tents of poor traders in this harsh economic times just to make believe or impress the Vp. Will the government compensate those poor traders? Have been in Amuwo for some days now and was disappointed that I couldn't use the ATM this morning at ago and buy some fruits at their market because the vp was coming.

wiloy2k8: My brother, mehn was suprise when I got there..Ago,Amuwo down to Festac is like An igbo city. My best friend who host me has an estate firm and was at his office on saturday.... from his records that I saw, I bearly saw a yoruba landlord name.. those places are 90% igbo and from what I he told me, those places use to be swampy, it was the igbos who came, bought those swamps, sand fill them and develop them.funny enough omo onile still come there to charge them for dues...did their fathers also lived on the water? just asking. My friend is trying hard to convince me to buy a plot of land but I will remain loyal to biafra first aside, land there is expensive... . See what igbo people are doing in Amuwo...I weep for my people. we never learn 1 Like

If you know about the terrible condition of this road before and all the litigation the Lagos state govt had to face before completing it, then one should give the state govt kudos. Moreso, the people living along the road (ago palaceway) are about 85% ibos. They have been complaining of marginalization. So this road commissioning is worthy of celebration. PS: I stay at that area and so I know what am talking about!! byteem: |

Incompetence is a greater issue than corruption in this country, all these paintings were done on Sunday i.e. yesterday in anticipation of the VP, you need to see hunks of policemen stationed at every single junction with new uniforms I presume... It makes no sense. They had to quickly rush to do shitty jobs.. Bleeping country. |
