I got into a hot argument with a friend over the correct answer to the puzzle below. I was of the opinion that the answer is 40 while she insisted that the correct answer is 96. so guys what is the correct answer?

Hi, The only Answer is 96 People who said 40 Miss something!! The trick is in the missing lines or problems 1+4=5 2+5=12 3+6=21 ---------------------------- The missing lines 4+7=32 5+8=45 6+9=60 7+10=77 -------------------------- 8+11=96 So if who said the answer 40 try to add the missing lines and try to solve it again the answer will be 96 Who agree with me?
