There are moin moin cups you could buy, i wish i could post a pic
but im not in my house now.

put boiled egg in your moin moin mix, makes it really tasty
not mashed ooh. just pieced up.

Fish in moin moin is nice, if you are a fish person.

Gamine,

Thanks an awful lot.  Please post the pan’s pic.  Next time the nostalgia strikes, I want to be ready.  I did add dried salmon in the last one.  Next time, I will get fresh salmon; microwave it first to make it stiffer, before putting it in the bean paste.  I wish I was in London; I will save me a lot of money by just coming to visit you.  [Don’t mind paying for the moi moi and the visiting-time value.  I am sure it will cost me less than I have already spent.].

In the U.S. you have to be in a city like New York, Washington, D.C., or the likes for such amenities.

In place of moi moi leaves, I preserve tomato sauce tin/cans or use aluminium foil and make it into a pocket or purse.

Originally, I washed and dried cans to use in cooking the moi moi.  However, when I came to use the cans, I noted that some of them had rusted.  That is why I shelled out ninety dollars plus tax for six Pyrex dishes ($15 each) , at Kitchen Aide.  The moi moi was still a disaster!

Sorry, I did not mean to hurt your feelings or allude in any respect that mother is a maid. Rather, it is her missing value that I lament. Incidentally, I am very much a man, and maybe I should try the African market for a good cook.

You don't have to feel sorry for yourself so badly, seems to me you are more of a psychic than a cook, you even have an idea of where you could get a good cook, so why in heaven's name will you go through all that because of moi moi, Mr Man!!! grin grin grin

How I wish this would lead to someone who would begin to think of how our own moimoi - as you would want it - could be exported/imported - as a paste or the like, with all the instructions on how to prepare it, and even the nutrient composition, expiry date et al.
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by Oba234: 6:22pm On Sep 29, 2009
Go to an African store, get those oloyin beans or big red beans. Soak it in water. Get a blender and grind the beans so the coat can come up. Don't grind too long. It should be about 3 second and then pour it out and put some more beans in it untill everything is grinded. Then you scrub the coat of by using a drainer. It should be easier since you already grinded it a bit. After peeling all the coats off and everything is white, then grind it fully now. Make sure you put water in the blender. after that is done, blend Tatase Also known as bell peppers And pour it in your grinded beans that should be in a bowl, put onions in it, a little bit of oil, salt, pepper, you can put fish if you want, Boiled egges if you want and put it in aluminum foil or those transparent bags that they sell in Nigeria. Cook it for like an hour. After it is done take it out of the stove and let it cool down.

Tee Zero,

Your suggestion is a wonderful and excellent idea. That is one idea; I do not mind investing in: It is simply marvelous! Done right, it may become an international dish and establish Nigeria on the culinary map of the world. Importantly, it will save guys like me a lot of time and money.

Please do not put tin cans and aluminum foils in a microwave oven (psyic). If you cook it with microwave, beware of hot spots!
