Hello everyone. I just got a Strong Decoder for the first time yesterday. 4663x. I am new to all this Decoder manipulations. Currently, I have only DSTV setting and DSTV channels on it. I was wondering if there was a way to get free-to-air channels that show good movies,series, news, cartoons and sports (if possible Premier League). I currently experience only the DSTV free-to-air like CCTV-N and NHK. Also how can I get all those MBC channels free-to-air. Do I have to change settings? I hope I dont have to buy any extra equipment or card. I look forward to your replies. Thanks and regards.

Chairman.yes,you have to change the settings.you need extra equipments like dish, lnb,4669x. I doubt it if anybody here will give u ready made answer.pls read thru' the posts.I'm assuring u.You will get more than enough information of what u need.

You should get more channels there especialy if you use 69x. You can try and add another lnb to get astra2b. Read this thread well and you'll find a lot of helpful info. Goodluck.

So, tell us what you've done to your dish setup, so as to know where you'll need help. And you can aswell check other thread for solutions.

I got the model number wrong initially. it is 4663x. what is lnb and how do I get the one for astra? why cant i use the current dstv lnb? is it not a matter of changing the settings to get other sat channels that are not dstv?

@mavor actually you can use the lnb for dstv to get astra just get the settings right. in this thread we in trying out things on your own, but use this tp 12552 v 19531 from your dstv position gentle downward movement  u will get astra then do blind scan. pls when you have time read through the thread for more info.

@mavor. I now know your problem. You will need to read though this thread from page 1. I bet you'll not have to ask 2 many questions. This forum is a tutoral for new comers like you. I was once like u but I made sure I read very well. I'll advise u read and know what lnb is and what astra is. When you've done that, come back if you have any more problems.

Today, I can say I'm the last busstop when it comes to sat tv installation. All my little knowledge I got from and still learning from here. Why should I then be proud with this little knowledge? BUT IF YOU WANT GOOD CHANNELS MOVIES, SPORTS. YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR DECODER TO 4669X BECAUSE IT IS MPEG4 AND 4663X IS NOT.

Men thank you my brother. This is just what I needed to hear. I dont know why some people are doing shakara with this info. God knows I'm not like that. Now please I wanted to ask about the issue of dish positioning. What position is my DSTV currently at now (I mean Satellite, Angle and Polarity). What position do I need to turn my dish for all this free channels you are talking about, also for MBC channels and NSS satellite. Thanks and regards.

DSTV POSITION IS EUTELSAT W4 AT 36 DEGREES.
MBC POSITION IS EUTELSAT W3A AT 7 DEGREES, WITH 90CM DISH, ON THE DECODER GO TO MANUAL SCAN YOU WILL SEE THOSE FEQ.
THOSE CHANNELS ARE ONLY RECEIVABLE WITH STRONG 4669X NOT YOUR 4663X DECODER.
