Ok, I am thinking of going to change the Strong from 4663x to 4669x. The guy who sold it to me last Sat claimed that 4663x was the latest version. Imagine!! Anyway, when I get the 4669x, apart from changing the decoder settings, do i need to change my dish position to receive MBC free to air channels?

I just sent my Satellite technician back with the 4663x decoder and some money, he will return with 4669x, another dish and something called a desplitter or something. It's good to be well informed. Abeg Sophie, pls give me all settings for free to air. I have 2 dishes(One in DSTV position and the other in Joy TV position). The Joy TV is showing well. I need more channels if possible but I need setting. I dont have CNN free to air for example. Thanks and regards.

Also is it possible to track Nilesat on a small KU dish, smaller than DSTV KU band dish in Southern Nigeria?? (Space dish made in Turkey), what position should the dish be in and what decoder setting? Thanks and regards.

YOU CANNOT RECEIVE NILESAT WITH 90CM.
YOU NEED 3M TO 4M TO RECEIVE IT.
IF YOUR DISH IS ALREADY IN JOY TV POSITION BLIND SCAN YOUR DECODER TO RECEIVE THE OTHER FREE CHANNELS, ALSO WITH DSTV POSITION.

I'm not really feeling this Joy TV bouquet jare. Some have no audio like Vox Africa. No CNN sef. I may have to switch to a bigger dish and switch to Nile. How much will the 3 m and 4 m cost? Also, can you pls give me a list of all the channels on Nile and which are in English? Thanks and regards.

with nilesat you will get more than 200 channels, most of them english.

I downloaded a software called SRT4669X_7111_ALL_MyTV_122p_20101027.stb. Is this the correct version? How do I install properly with USB flash drive and how long does installation take? I may have to forget about Nilesat for now, cos I cant afford another dish and lnb at the moment. Thanks and regards.

BUT YOU HAVE TO UNZIP THE SOFTWARE BEFORE USING IT.
DOWNLOAD WINRAR FROM WWW.FILEHIPPO.COM AND USE IT TO EXTRACT THE SOFTWARE FROM .ZIP OR .PHP TO .STB.
THEN PUT THE FLASH WITH THE SOFTWARE (NOW .STB) IN THE DECODER AND UPGRADE.
BE CAREFUL IT CAN SPOIL YOUR DECODER.
OR TELL A PROFESSIONAL TO DO IT.

Na 2day I begin dey flash firmware? Although I have never done for a decoder before. I need more info to know if it something I can easily do. No point wasting money to hire a "professional" if it's something I can easily do.

Ok, so I took a risk and upgraded to 1.22p using NEPA Omo see prayer during upgrading so NEPA no go take light. *phew* Anyway all the channels that had no sound now have sound. Thanks a lot Sophie. I will want to purchase an mpeg4 decoder but I need your advise on what to buy, should go for Strong 4669X or infinity decoder or Daarsat decoder? Please guys which one is the best?
Also, I am thinking of adding another dish for these mpeg4 free to air.
So Gurus, I need your advise on what to do.

If you will go by my opinion I would say go for strong 4669X because of the software upgrading. You already have two dish pointing at two sat what do need a third one for when people are inventing set up of one dish for two or more satellite.

Just get the strong decoder and move one of your dish to DSTV position of Astra2B and enjoy what other mpeg 4 users have been enjoying.

i wil advise u 2 go 4 d mpe4 decoder(srt 4669). 4 d dstv dish add anoda lnb 2 make it 2 in 1 setup (ew4/7 nd astra2).adjust d oder dish u use 4 mytv 2 sirius4.but if u if like buyin anoda dish i wil urge u 2 go 4 90cm dis 2 nail bot ew3 nd sirius4 wit 1 dish nd enjoy fta.

I'm looking to nailing Astra 2b to add to my DSTV dish which I now use for FTA on W4/7 early next year but need some info
[1] How much does a Strong 4669x decoder cost? [seeing AStra 2b needs a MPEG 4 decoder to be viewed]. I saw 16,000 on another Nairaland FTA thread but the post was March this year.
[2] In response to question1, can 1 get a Strong HD decoder instead ? Will it confer more benefits than the 4669x seeing HDTV is the way to go for the future? How much does it go for?
I saw 2 models -STRONG SRT 4900/4910- on Strong's website used by MyTV viewers.
Are this models advisable or are they better/cheaper 1's? Please the cost if any1 knows.
[3] Is it possible to nail the bird W3a on a 60 cm dish [I have an old MyTV dish @ home]
[4] Lastly, what is a dreambox? Wikipedia says it's a sort of Linux based decoder. Can some 1 explain further?
Can it be used in 9ja?

mr. u dont nid any installer 2 cary out dis setup. all u nid 2 do is since u already hav a dish facin ew4/7 just add anoda lnb unda your primary lnb (ew4/7) nd tie it wit rope.dats all.
