Churches are now more concerned about having more members and church offerings/tithes than preaching or practicing Christianity

I wore a mini gown, which highlighted my hips and bust and the ‘old-fashioned’ usher refused to allow me enter the church.

“Since then, I decided to join another church that won’t judge me based on my dressing but my heart.

After all, the Lord sees the heart not the body; so, why should anybody judge me?”

1Peter 3:1 Your beauty should not consist in externals such as fancy hairstyles, gold jewelry or what you wear; 4 rather, let it be the inner character of your heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit. In God’s sight this is of great value. 5 This is how the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves and submit to their husbands, 6 the way Sarah obeyed Avraham, honoring him as her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not succumb to fear.

1 Timothy 2:9-10 And the women should be the same way, quiet and sensible in manner and clothing. Christian women should be noticed for being kind and good, not for the way they fix their hair or because of their jewels or fancy clothes

Proverbs 7:10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

Proverbs 14:12There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough;
look again—[b]it leads straight to hell.
Sure, those people appear to be having a good time,
but all that laughter will end in heartbreak. (The Message Bible)

If a man carelessly shows off and mishandles his cash against good etiquette in front of a bank gets robbed would the you say the robber must be a very seasoned thief before he could decide to steal the money? A thief is a thief but many times people who aren't thieves would steal when an opportunity is presented them.
Uncivilised behaviours elicits responses/reactions that are also uncivilised and sometimes in sane people. Why would a responsible woman risk her dignity of womanhood with the uncertain self-control of a stranger?
CFCman:
There is nothing worse than blaming ladies who dress "provocatively", for rape.
Some 'adults' need to exercise greater self-control if they are to be regarded as full functioning individuals in the society.

Thank goodness that the Orwellian bill to ban so-called "indecent dressing" was shot down in the National Assembly. If it had scaled through, millions of innocent women in the country would have been unduly harassed by unruly police officers, all in the name of enforcing a stupid law.

The irony is that the sex workers don't dress indecently when they are off duty and they would never allow their daughters to dress indecently. It is the ones that have decent backgrounds that choose to dress like courtesans but insist not to be addressed as such. 'If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck but speaks in English that it isn't a duck' then I don't know what is. grin grin

There was a time I was praying, then some girls came in with provocative dressing, I had to step out because they brought in lust with full force and I was like why? At a period when one wants to get closer to God, these women of easy virtue get in the way. In terms of reducing distractions, Muslims got it better as in separating men from women.

We are officially a religious republic. Just see the trash people are typing.

It's shocking that, 3 pages into the thread, less than 3 people condemned the bill to imprison people for indecent dressing. All they care about is their stupid religion.

There is something very wrong with the Nigerian society.
