That is an overly simplistic analysis. Nigeria's problems are FAR GREATER than control or lack of control of oil - if you think that is the problem then you are highly uninformed of the Nigerian malaise.

We are controlling our refineries - why can't we make them work? We are controlling road construction - why can't we maintain them? We are controlling power generation, how come we can't have adequate supply?

Till the government stops controlling refining we will continue to have problems.

The issue is NOT control of resources - that is a ruse of the highest order. If we ever used our income from those resources wisely we would have a great impact on living standards in Nigeria.

You have no idea that the single commodity that drives the entire market is the oil, and once you can't control the oil, everything becomes far difficult to handle.


Ask yourself this question; why is that after producing so much oil we still get aids from these countries and still suck up to IMF's asss whilst the world bank is holding us by the balls?


The people that controls your natural resources produces all your finished product ,set the prices if not for China these days and finally say how much they will pay you for your raw resources and all these is being achieved because there hands are well tucked in holding every Govt. and individuals to ransome that dare to question them and of course a lot of leaders paid the ultimate price for asking too much questions but right now our leadership is awashed with criminals and goons that would readily sell Africa and her people for peanuts.

Nigeria needs to produce and not just consume.
The country has become important for bad news in the western media because they fear one day you may become an economic/military powerhouse like China which once upon a time was looked down upon like Nigeria.
Nigeria's got the resources, Nigeria's got the population.
