Spite and anger indeed. When you get mocked, you tend to paint the one doing the mocking as sinister. How amusing. You theists must be really good at tasting we atheists to be able to tell so well, how bitter we are, deep down.

John 3:16 "for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life

This is the most popular bible verse and perhaps one of the most popular quotes in the world.

Now we are so busy bleating out this quote, we get carried away and fail to see the fault in logic of the quote.

this very quote made me a christian, this very quote made me dump christianity

Here is a flaw you never noticed perhaps.

1. So God loved the world: the bible did not say he loved Jerusalem. The bible did not say he loved the Middle-east. He loved Africa, loved Asia, Loved Australia, Loved south America, loved Europe, loved North America. God loved all the people living in remote Islands.
This is soooo good to know

the question is, then why did Jesus die in Jerusalem?

Wait... You probably don't understand yet.

According to christianity, the coming and death of Jesus is the most important event EVER in the entire Human History.

You probably still don't get it. smiley I understand the brainwash is that strong.

So God loved the WHOLE world and he gave Jesus for the world. Then in his stupidity wisdom asked men to spread the most important message ever! A message that would save every man, woman and child from eternal damnation, eternal torment, eternal doom. This wise and loving God did not know it would take over 1000years for the message of Jesus to reach America through the Europeans.
What about every tribe in africa? Asia? Europe? Australia? North korea? How long did it take before they even heard of the existence of a man/myth called Jesus?

How many people would have died within that space of time?

So all those people are damned?

If you say no, god would judge them differently, then why spread the story of Jesus at all?

The only reason for this is because the myth of Jesus christ is only a myth created by the romans to put the jews under control. The jews know this and that is why they rejected the story.

Here's Another problem. Christians love to say Jesus sacrificed himself for the sins of the world. But I beg to differ according to their story, Jesus dies, and then resurrects three days later. Does this very act not nullify the notion of sacrifice itself? Jesus lives so therefore no life was lost and no debt was paid. Thank you.

This is a lame coward-like response.
Hardmirror is not the only atheist or agnostic in the world. If you have a well convincing write up to counter this post, why hesitate? You could be converting hundreds of people in the process.

There are agnostics out there who just want proof or a concrete reason to believe. If you don't have anything to say just sharap and go pay your offerings and tithes. Your pastor's car won't fuel itself.

Unless you persist in lying to yourself, you would see that a counter to this post in respect to this question is nothing but stoking the flame of argument. Go through the religious section and tell me that there's a dearth of write-ups of greater detail, weight and importance on this issue as well as other issues, as dealt with in threads and comments of a number of theists that shouldn't have led to the conversion of atheists before now. While you consistently deny incontrovertible proofs of God's existence through the reports of people who were medically certified dead, brain dead, only to return to life to give their message of the afterlife and it has not lead to the conversion of hundreds of atheists and unbelievers then you expect a counter reply to do that. Are you real?

Like father Abraham in the Word of God told the rich man, you have the prophets. If you don't believe them you will never believe anyone even if he rises from the grave. In addition, if you neither believe the pastors and evangelists nor the testimonies of people concerning the miraculous hand of God in their lives and many with proofs then you will never believe a mere counter reply to a subject that has been over-flogged.

This topic is an interesting one and it's also a good observation or thinking. It's just a pity the one who brought about the topic does this to smite God. May God have mercy on his soul.

The problem is that we don't know how compassionate, merciful and loving this great God is. He is a fair judge, a God of justice. He desires no one to parish. And since He is a fair judge, He can never be partial. He will do everything possible to make sure He doesn't go against His word because He is a faithful God.

Even if we all deny or disown Him, He will still remain faithful to His Word. He is never a partial God when it comes to judgment.

I am of the believe God will make sure everyone knows about Jesus because that is the center of the gospel and the standard for judgment. How He will do that I don't know but I can give a point:

To those who haven't heard about Jesus, Jesus himself reaches out to them... That can be gotten from testimonies, it's up to you to believe it or not

If you still ask what about those who He did not reach out to and they still haven't heard of Him - well, that's God's business not yours. That's why I started with He is a God of justice, an impartial God. He can never disown His word. He knows how to handle such when it turns out like that. He is a God who will remain faithful to Himself forever.

When it comes to judgment, let your heart be calm in His impartiality for He is truly impartial.

God loves us so much that He can even direct and teleport any of His servants to preach to others in a place not expected at such a time. An example was Philip in the Bible.

For all those reading these: our concern should be have we heard the gospel or not? Have we heard about Jesus being our Savior or not? If we have we should be more concerned for ourselves and leave the part that does not concern us or that we can do nothing about to God. That's God's issue, that's God's case so please let Him handle it and concentrate on your own life.

For those who have heard the gospel and haven't turn their hearts to God, hear this: you are worse, much more worse than those who haven't heard. I mean they are far off better than you in all areas.

For those who have heard the gospel but ignore it, read this :“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
Mt 11:21‭-‬24 NIV

The Op carries a very nice topic, that any believer who knows the answers to them will not be swayed at all. So I will encourage all believers to know about their God and also to have an idea of how limitless God's love is in width, breadth, height, length, size, in any form of measurement.

When believers come to understand God's unlimited love, they will be able to scale heights even when they can't measure the love of God.

I wish all the brethren in the house the love of God and the power of the revelation of such a love.

There were about 52 Gospels and many of them were written over 200 - 300AD. There was the gospel of Thomas, which many believe to be older than the 4 gospels, gospel of Mary madaglene, acts of Peter, gospel of Judas, acts of Paul and thelan etc

Many of the New testaments were not written by the disciples rather they were written by witnesses. Consequently, there were many variations on the account of Jesus lives and teachings. Some claimed he is divine, others said he was a mere prophet.

These beliefs gave rise to many Christianity sects and likewise disputes. In order to resolve these issues, emperor Constantine called for a meeting of bishops and there is was agreed on what should be canonized and what should be discarded.

Jesus said first remove the spike from your eyes before you remove the rod from your Neighbour's eyes. Love your neighbour as you love thyself removes the notion of enemy. It can also be interpreted as treat all men equally and that includes women too. Respect and tolerate people beliefs and don't feel superior.

lol.... This is a post steeped in the worship of emotions. Throwing love here and there like a Cinderella blowing fragrant bubbles. But there are still many pertinent questions to be answered, and as long as they remain, so will the content of this post remain floating in thin air, in the blue of the blues...... without any rational support.

Here's one. It's not all about HEARING, is it? It's about getting CONVINCED. Now, imagine an averagely intelligent little boy (he's not the rational type, so there's no possibility that he will discard ancient poisons and toxins and shrugged off pernicious indoctrinations when he grows up), born to a Muslim Jihadist in Pakistan, a fierce advocate of Wahabism, made into a fanatical Muslim by his extremist father and joins the rank of the lunatics queuing to martyr themselves at any opportunity, due to a pathological obsession with dusky 72 virgins that would be awarded them, the Mighty Warriors of Allah, posthumously. It's undeniable that the boy's mind has been effectively DESYROYED nearly beyond any hope of repair.

The question now is, even if this one HEARS of the gospel of Christ, how do you CONVINCE him to accept it as true? Is that even remotely possible? Are you saying, he'll burn in hell for all eternity if he refuses to accept, despite the staggering odds against such a possibility? It was a situation BEYOND HIS control, he had no choice in the matter, no say at all. His young mind was a white canvas and his father painted it the colour he so wished, without his consent, when he was still a little man, and remarkably vulnerable to such a psychological attack. It's a fact that this kind of person almost certainly CANNEVER be convinced of the truth of Christ's message. But God is going to make a divine barbeque out of him for that? This is absurd.

First of all if someone accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior, you'll never know until he acts it out in your presence or voices it out to you. That's because it's a thing of the heart and only God knows the nature of one's heart.

Secondly and most importantly, it isn't my work or duty to bring about conviction. My duty is to preach the good news.

Lol.... Absolutely right.

Let me tell you a story
. Once upon a time, a being of ultra-evil called Satan enslaved the human race and said that all of them would be dispatched to Satan's cosmic torture chamber where he would inflict infinite pain forever: a place he named Hell.

Hearing Satan's monstrous plan, God declared, "No, take me instead," Satan was overjoyed and agreed immediately. He imprisoned God in Hell and subjected him to the greatest pain conceivable, a pain that will never end.

So, if the tale I have told was about the "real" Jesus Christ then all of humanity would be forever in Christ's debt. Christ's love for humanity, his infinite self I sacrifice, saved humanity from a fate worse than death. He took upon himself all of the sins and suffering of humanity, a burden he would endure to Doomsday. We would be forever in his debt and his sacrifice would shine as the greatest bacon in human history.

But let's see what actually happened. It wasn't Satan who built Hell - it was God! It wasn't Satan who declared that humanity was guilty of Original sin and hence damned to Hell forever - it was God. Jesus Christ didn't sacrifice himself to spare humanity from Satan's evil decrees, but from his own. Jesus Christ as allegedly lives for 33 years and then died on the cross - does that constitute a significant sacrifice in the context of eternity? Enormous numbers of human beings have endured much worse fates than Jesus Christ, and often at the hands of the followers of Jesus Christ.

There is NOTHING about the story of Jesus Christ that makes any sense. It's ludicrous. He died to save us not from Satan but from himself. What kind of crazy shiit is that?

AND PEOPLE ACTUALLY BELIEVE THIS INSANE CRAP!!! BILLIONS OF THEM. THEY WILL DEMONIZE YOU IN THE NAME OF THIS INCREDIBLE SHIIT. THIS HEAP OF FUCKING LUNACY WITHOUT LIMIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THEIR LIVES.

JoyContraMundum, I could have gone further but I've decided to stop here. I wouldn't talk on this issue again and please please forgive me for that.

I replied your pm. Please do have a nice day dear.
No qualms there.

Okay. Thank you. And you too.

Bullshiit. Why not go down on your knees and start pleading with us to stop ridiculing your ridiculous beliefs? If you were rational, you wouldn't react emotionally to criticism.

HardMirror, you just struck a nerve. grin

Christians love stitching nice words together to make sentences that sound wise but total crap.

You are making zero sense.

Jesus died in jerusalem. It took thousands of years for the myth of jesus to even reach some countries, so if your god was so wise and the message of jesus was so important, why shld he die in Jerusalem and wait for thousands of years for some to get the opportunity to hear this message?
All the rubbish you typed up there has nothing to do with the op and it is senseless to say the least.

Christianity was only a tool to conquer the world. It is the religion of submission, a religion of total sheepishness.

Problem is many christians don't know ANYTHING about the history and spread of Christianity. From the Romans, to the British empire. A means to get conquered nations to be meek and sheepish. It was never about salvation, it has always been about bondage

You means Islam, But what took you so long to divulge this new stuff, but why must you add jara on top.

Answer to your question is Simple if you can attempt this...

Do you believe all or most religion point to Supreme Being?
Do you agree That the supreme being could God but ignorantly worship?
If you accept the above, then do all Religion then point to God?
If Religion Point to God (even if ignorantly worship) what make Jesus deity standout and His Christianity?

we can start from here
