The most annoying thing about Sanni is the information in his disposal that the inspector is dating Amina, not only was he seeing her, but he didn’t even bother to make it a discreet affair, if just to honor him for being the boss.

Sanni was also aware that the Commandant grudging him because of Amina, he even heard from a reliable source that the commandant was planning to take him to a very remote area around Oke-Ira, and was only waiting for an approval from the headquarters.

The commandant walks into the restroom in his office, quickly wraps a tiny weed. He had kept that piece of grass in his wallet before the radio message received to arrest the writer.


He lights up the weed, drew smoke into his lungs, feels the need for a shot, but there wasn’t going to be time for that, apart from the smell it will have on his breath. But not smoking a piece of weed after this outing was like committing suicide.

Now after the first smoke hits him, he was beginning to think properly. Somehow weed helps you think properly, even though a lot of people misunderstand the effect of weed.

He freshens up and was ready to meet with the arrested suspect. It’s not only journalists who turns a suspect to a criminal even before the court does, a lot of police officers do too.

Somehow, he wasn’t comfortable with the controversies around the matter; it would not only bring a stain to his personal office, but also image damage to the Nigerian police force. So he had to exercise all necessary cautions. He must speak on one on to the suspect first before addressing the press, they can wait forever, who cares about the press anyway, and they are only used when necessary to fulfill purposes of the user.

He tries to remember where the smoke came from, that must be Tewobola’s smoke. The weed was already having the desired effects, his nerves were relaxed, and was ready to stand even before the world court to justice and to testify even in a high profile terrorism case.
