Catholicism's SHOCKING Attitude Toward The Bible! by DoctorAlien(m): 6:55pm On Aug 24, 2017
The modern approach of the Catholic Church is to emphasize great love and respect for the Scriptures. Present day Catholics want people to believe that the Catholic Church has faith in the Bible, is the church of the Bible, and encourages its members to read and study the Bible. However, when Catholics try to disprove the Bible as the only authority in religion, their true attitude toward the Bible is revealed. The Catholic Church opposes the Bible as the sole guide and standard in religion and whenever it tries to
disprove it as such, its true attitude toward it is manifested. Accordingly, the Catholic Church makes the following accusations against the Bible:

Not intended to be written.

Not intended to be circulated.

Not intended to be gathered into one volume.

Not accessible to all.

Does not contain all truth.

Not understandable.

Not a safe method.

Is a dead letter.

Does more harm than good.

4, the Bible is the truth but other books contains truth also
Your other points are personal views and sounds silly.
The Catholic Church just like other churches has doctrines but the obsession with Catholic Church is amazing. Yet you ppl that critize the church wouldnt mind being naked and eating grass cos pastors ask you to do so and you will claim you are on the right track. Peace

Paul, Peter preached about making images, Mary and praying to dead saints but someone along the line erased those stuffs and left only stuffs about Jesus. It's amazing how you guys come 2000 years after the event purporting to know better than those who know the truth and have the pedigree to back it up.

If I ask you to show me from scripture alone how Mark 16: 9-20 ended up been scripture, I wonder how you can.
You're probably not even aware that there have been controversies concerning these verses.

If I were to ask you how you know Mark is scripture from scripture alone, I wonder if you can.

If I were to ask you how the early Christians knew and practised their faith given than the books of the NT weren't written until decades after the event, I wonder ...

The fact is even the process that brought the bible into existence was based on sacred tradition and an authority to confirm that sacred tradition. So 2000years later OP comes up with his nairaland post and we're supposed to believe.

By the way your so called Catholic Church accusations against the bible are absolutely false.

I'll suggest you do more research bro.

But The Nigerian Catholic is slightly different. They seem to have caught something... Holy ghost illumination.

Even though that's true of the church's hierarchy, the Nigerian church will disagree on several of those beliefs.

Pls, can you tell us the Century the Bible got to Rome. Oh, what i mean is, when the Roman Catholicism was established as a state religion in Rome.

Pls for how many Centuries was the Bible locked up in Rome away from the reach of even some Priests?

Are you sure the Catholic Church intended for the entire human race to handle a Bible for themselves and see what it said about them personally?

Why then was the Bible hidden for Centuries until some Priests began secretly translating it into the languages of their people with the hope of them understanding it?

Do you know how many Bibles the Mother Church burnt together with those who translated them into different languages? would you say that was an attitude of a Church which wanted the Bible taken to People?

Was Christianity meant to remain in Rome? Why then did Catholicism held it down in Rome for Centuries until the Reformation broke through?

Are you sure Catholicism would have allowed Christianity to be a Creed of Liberty if the Reformers didn't make the move seriously paying with their own blood? Have you watched this movie " Juan of Arc?" you should watch it and see what Catholicism meant or intended for humanity.

You all blame King Henry the 8th for breaking out and starting The Anglican Communion, but, have you found time to know what led to that?

He was given a Bible which he read for himself, he saw what the Pope had always told him through the Bishop to be lies, lies and more lies. He saw he didn't have to pay the Papal indulgence to ascertain his redemption. He saw he didn't have to marry his late brothers wife if he didn't want to, contrary to what the Catholic Church wanted him to believe.

He saw he had the liberty to choose for himself whether or not to obey God.

Let me ask you this sir.

From when Catholicism began, to when the Reformation broke out, how many years were they?

From When The Reformation started to When the Catholic Church saw the need to spread to our African Continent, how many years was it?

Sir, if you believe Catholicism brought you the Bible, then you just believed a lie. But for the Reformation, the Bible would've remained locked up in an extinct Latin language, and inside some old cupboards only to be read to you by those who feel they have the right to control you by telling you only what they want you to hear and know.

The Catholic Church works against Christ. Jesus says, take the Good News to the Ends of the Earth, the Catholic Church wanted it locked up in Rome.

chynie:

With this, The Catholic Church just affirms that it's stance is not consistent with what He whom they claim to follow commands.

Jesus says in Revelation 22:19 ...

Good News Translation Revelation 22:19 And if any take anything away from the prophetic words of this book, God will take away from them their share of the fruit of the tree of life and of the Holy City, which are described in this book.

The Catholic Church added these other books to enable them practice paganism.

As much as I would like to make this brief, but let me clear some facts
king henry left catholic church, cos the church wouldn't support his bid to marry a second wife.
As for your movie u watched, df ppl tell same story differently.
please if I may ask, who were the first missionaries to visit our side by history, cos mine were catholics
Now if that is not an act of evangelism then I don't know what we should call that.
And for the verse of add/removing from the scripture lol cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
please the bible wasn't compiled by the apostles, the apostles wrote epistles in Hebrew and greeks to the df persons/community churches that were in existence.
I will advise u go through those new additions and pick out verses or chapters u will contradict the mission of Christ.

No, King Henry left Catholicism for a number of reasons, which one was the Church trying to tie him down to Marrying Catherine, his late brother's wife. how old was Henry wen the Pope wanted him to Marry Catherine? and how old was she? Catherine was already older than the late husband who married her. Catherine was already an old woman before she married and as at when Henry was to marry her, he was about 12.

And, Marrying Catherine was a way of tying him down and controlled by Rome.

Why won't a young boy be allowed to take his own queen and enjoy his youth with his contemporary?

You now give the Catholic church credence for assembling books that were written by better men long before them.
