O.K i guess we are going round and round in circles on this one

Lets get some Questions Answered first then we can move on

Question 1 - Why are there So many Non-Nigerians Making alot
of Noise and kicking up a Fuss on a NIGERIAN SOCIAL FORUM

Question 2 - Why is there any Argument about which women among
any black nation are More Likely to Get a University Education,
Get Married and STAY MARRIED!!!

Question 3 - Why is their discussion about a foregone conclusion in regards to Nigerian vs Caribbean/African American women

In case you dont know the Answer i will give you a good hint
for you to Answer the Questions having Been Brought up
in the UK and also lived in Nigeria
doing my Univeristy there before returning to UK.

Hints -

Nigeria is the Biggest Black Nation in the World ( 151 Million People Duh!!!)

Nigerian Community in the UK is the Most Influencial Black Community
in Terms of Business/Commerce ie Nigerians Have the money !!!! Dont Hate!!!

Nigerians Ranks amongst the Richest Blacks in the world in Real Terms(Dont Hate - "I said in Reat Terms" - If you need explainations to my points ask me!!!)

Nigerians Males attending Univeristy inside and outside Nigeria in theschools year of 2009-10 Surpasses all the African American Males & FemalesPlus Caribbean Male and Females seeking entry to or are in a Higher Institution - Dont Hate!!!

Nigerian Males and Females on Average are secure in their Cultural Identity and having lived in Nigeria and been in other african countries, Nigerians are the most Assertive and focused black Indivduals that i have ever known!!!

Nigeria(NS) is(Are) the Only and i say only Black people where the Females cannot out-compete the Males in Educational Attainment - 90% of the Best students in Nigeria are Guys not Girls and the Nigerian GIRLS KNOW THIS AND ARE HAPPY WITH THIS!!!

Over a Million Nigerian Students did the Entrance exam (JAMB) to enter Nigerian Univeristies in 2009!!!

Nigerians are the Hardest to beat Intellectually in the class-room (Damm i know this
first hand, as i came 3rd to last in my first year schooling in Nigeria, and i
thought i was a bright kid when i was in the UK!!!)

Nigeria has over 400 Ethnic Groups and i have to say this we are Not all Yuroba & Ibo
as so many Caribbean & African-American Think!!!

I kidd u not ie Ibibio,Idoma,Igala,, Ijaw, Ikpide, Ikwerre, Isoko,Itsekiri,
Ebira,Edda,Efik,Egba, Eket, Ekoi, Ekpeye.

Safe to say that 60% of all Nigerians in the uk are Yuroba, but untill you live in Nigeria
you cannot appreciate the diverse cultural Dynamic!!!

A black male or female that is born outside nigeria ie Europe or USA
and is brought to nigeria to school at Secondary school level and then
goes back to Europe or USA is 70% more likey to be sharper Academically, Sociall,
Culturally and in life skills than his fellow Black American, Carribean & Nigerian!!!
that has never lived in Nigeria.

WHY IS THIS?

Becuase a black male or female living in Nigeria can not use excuses for his
failure or inadequacies as an indivdual and seeing black people all around him/her striving
to better themselves, must take responsibility for his/her actions and choices

My Conclusion is Nigerians are a Force to Benefit from irrespective
of the Negative aspects

IT IS FOOL-HARDY TO BET AGAINST THEM!!!

DEAL WITH IT, If you were so intelligent as you claim you are you would know that it is utterly stupid to come to a Nigerian website to rant and insult our intelligence like we are the only ones that sterotype. Sweetheart we live in stratified society,a one of hierarchy, its all about am better than you, you and you. A Nigerian woman thinks they are the best (for the record we are) and the Carribbean Women thinks they are the best, hell even in Nigeria an igbo woman thinks she better than the hausa woman, and even in carribbaen it is the sameeeeeee, am not going to tell you are the best to make you feel better, and you shouldn't go to website to validate who you are. Do you know how many time i have had to deal with such sterotypes (Black vs White, Jamaican vs Carribean, Jamaicans vs Black Americans, Black American vs Africans, Ghana vs Nigerian, West Africa vs East Africa,South africa) listen its life deal with it, instead of coming here and spilling you ignorance and what are you even doing here if you not Nigerian?

You are such a silly cow for posting this rubbish. Real Nigerian women do not have your kind of complex because they know what they are worth. They do no have to put others down in order to feel good.

Go and look at the status of this website. It is says for Nigerians and friends of Nigerians.

And for your information, the person you are attacking has been chiding the OP. Get your facts right before you talk with your anus.

WOW! i just love the results! I knew no matter how much i explain each sentence I would be accused of "hating on Nigerian women" "attacking Nigerian people" when CLEARLY, OBVIOUSLY, I am simply stating that we Jamaican AND Nigerian women are NOT too much different and also that I should not be judged according to my heritage or if i so choose to date an African man. In my personal experience I have had African women "try" to pick fights or even try to box with me because I was with an African man and as I told them I am telling you all my skin complexion does not lie. I am African away from Africa that is ALL I am saying.

Not to mention I do not wear colorful tacky weaves, would NEVER bleach my ebony skin and I HATE weed, contrary to some of my Jamaican sisters, hey im just trying to squash the stereotype, and let me not forget that most of you who bash me and skim to read WHAT YOU WANT to read are the MAIN ONES whove left nasty comments about Jamaican women, let me futher digress by saying I am NOT the right one to attack! Just know that,

To Mad lady you say your mother is a Jamaican Jew yet you tell me you "dont like the term Y.A.R.D.I.E and that she doesnt know what it means? not only is that a contradition but it doesnt make sense. You are "Jamaican" atleast you claim to be, Yardie is a term that we Jamaicans use to refer to ourselves. Yardie is a person who is either a resident of or have emigrated/children of emigrated from Jamaica which we call "Yard". Unlike the UK folks who want to type caste a yardie to mean Jamaican thug, its not so, Yardie to Jamaicans is what Salone is to Sierra Leoneans, As a "Jamaican" you should know that. And I never attacked Nigerian women I dont know what you are trying to prove or what you are reading by my tone is not that of anger but sadness, period. point. blank.

So what you are saying is that I dont speak out about something as ignorant as the divide all will be well? I'm sorry sweetheart but as I stated before my mother raised a rock of a woman, I refuse to keep silent, understand that. Secondly I NEVER said Jamaicans were better than Nigerian women, and I never will. For to say so would not only imply that I am a complete idiot but that I am suffering from an inferiority complex which most def. isnt the case, so lets try reading and asking before we judge, shall we? lastly this is the internet, I am entitled to join any website I so choose to so long as I am not intending to hurt, abuse or insult anyone which i clearly didnt so dont you dare question why I am here, ok. I respect Nigerian people because they have CLEARLY set MAJOR and many trends for ALL black people WORLD WIDE, and i cannot and will not take that from them, if anything I only ask for respect and acceptance. But you my friend look extremely ignorant, biased and prejudiced.

@ MzDarkSkin.

Girl, I love you from the bottom of my heart.

Your long essay is worth reading a hundred times over.

You have just hit the nail on the head.

This is not fact, but I always say that Jamaicans are of Nigerian descent, based on certain similarities I see in the two.

I never knew this stereotype against Jamaica by "ignant" Nigerians existed, until I came on Nairaland.

My uncle is married to a Jamaican woman, and she doesn't fit into any silly category some "ignant" Nlers put them in.

I salut you for your boldness and bluntness, because it is pure truth.  wink

It is bitter Ooo, but must be told.

With Regards,

From a proud Nigerian Female  kiss

P.s. Abeg O, no one should think I'm gay.

AWE I LOVE YOU TOO! You dont know how much that soothe my heart. God bless you! You are kind wink thank you so much. It is true we Jamaicans are from ALL over the West African coast AND from Angola/Congo. Igbo and Yoruba are very prevalent in the caribbean in terms of culture and practices so in essence we are in many ways a product of Nigerian people.

You were making sense. . .till you said that! Get over yourself. . .You know who you are and you shouldn't allow anyone dictate who you are. . .I must also add if you had as much confidence as you claim to have. . .dear you won't be ranting or getting your blood pressure up over what some faceless baboons behind a computer screen think!

Just my two cents!

I think you and i need to reread this together, because obviously things are NOT being mentioned, the hostility is not necessary, lets proceed.

Well first and foremost let me introduce myself before I rant. Yes I am a newbie here. I actually found about this site while looking up relations between Africans (from the continent) and African descendants. Unfortunately I came across BULL. I've read posts about "why are nigerian men dating jamaican women?", "why dont nigerian men in the UK get along with Jamaican women?" I've seen some of the most pathetic posts about "Jamo women smoke weed (90 percent of them)", "Jamo women wear blue. black, lime green, yellow, blonde weave", "Jamo women will cut off your male anatomy" etc. Complete, utter RUBBISH. Let me just say I come here with NO disrespect intended, as I am a black woman therefore of the African vine that you all born on the land or to parents who were. I have dated African men and I adore them. I will also have you all know I am the product of a Jamaican mother and an African American father. What I read burned my soul because I was raised by a Jamaican women with so much dignity, respect and pride that it has rubbed off on me. The disrespect is MAJOR! I could not believe a people who claim to be the "super powers of Africa" and intelligent would say such vile, and disgusting stereotypical junk that has plaqued ALL black people. I do NOT appreciate the slander what so ever. I have NEVER worn blonde, lime green, pink, purple, blue, yellow etc weave, I do not find it cute nor will I ever. As for SOME of my Jamaican sisters? to each his own. Every orchard has its spoiled apples, Africans should know this first hand as African ppl are by far the most stereotyped humans on the planet.

Futhermore this issue between some of you rude and envious Nigerian women and Jamaican women is childish and pitiful. If a Nigerian MAN, not child, not boy but MAN, should decide that he will like to wed, bed or even get to know a Caribbean/Jamaican woman, so be it. This anomousity is rediculous. To the fool who claimed that 90 percent of my sisters smoked weed let me ask you this there are nearly 3.5 million Jamaican ppl on my island, to every man there is about 4 women, so let me ask you this "you really want me to believe that you have actually spoken to/met millions of Jamaican women to be sure that 90 percent of us smoke weed?" you are but a fool. You are ignorant and should be ashamed of yourself. Nigerian women who dislike us GET OVER YOURSELVES! Every African man I have dated has exclaimed/declared they will nolonger date African women because apparently you all are "dramatic and over the top not to mention loud". Sure SOME of you may be but I am woman enough to know that some do not speak for all, futhermore I am also woman enough to tell them that African woman birthed you so you cannot turn your back on them. I am a fair person and a proud college bound HARD WORKING Jamaican woman. If you want to know why is it Nigerian/African men like us, ask yourselves "what is wrong with us to make them stray?"; that statement alone by now has spawned fire inside of some of you because you are biased but I could careless.

The reason Africa and other black nations cannot thrive is foolishness such as this.
This ethnocentric, tribalistic crap has despoiled us of years and chances of elevation generation after generation! Is My Jamaican blood enough to make me not a good choice for an African man? or is it my character that should be questioned? Ask yourself that. Someone said "isnt there other Caribbean women? why Jamos?" I guess as if to say we are the bottom of the pit and should be overlooked. Let me explain this clear so that I am not to repeat myself: Jamaican women are WOMEN. We are not extraterrestial beings we are not inbetween the sexes we are WOMEN; and like ALL women we range from mild mannered to extreme ignorance. Like ALL women you have (excuse my language) "Ladies" and "b.tches" (again pls excuse me). If you go to Trinidad same story. Barbados? same story. Colombia? Same. America? Same. Africa? You fill in the blank. We are more than worth it after all we are also of African descent which regardless of how you all feel connects us. The only division between us that should be evident is the Atlantic Ocean nothing more. Grow up and educate yourselves on the tribes that make up Jamaica: Igbo and Yoruba are among the many f.y.i.

To my Nigerian brothers and sisters who understand me, bless up and respect. I look forward to conversing with you all and getting to know Nigerian culture and history to all else grow up!, AND FAST.

FIN!

I have not really been around Jamaicans. The only two I have been around were guys and were cool. I know more about Jamaicans from what I read here on Nairaland. Which is why I am suprised that you are attacking the women when it is the men here who always berate jamaican women. Go search through the site. Most of them say they would rather bring an animal home. I am just stating what I read. On other Nigerian forums jamaican women are referred to as oversexed and classless. I would like to see some of these posts you are refering to when you say the women here attacked Jamaican women. If I saw it I will be the first to say it because I dislike bigotry of any kind. This is the first time I have heard that African women have said nasty things about Jamaican women on this forum

First it is unfortunate you dont know alot of us, we are cool people and we LOVE Africans despite our rejection. Some of us arent too bright and disassociate from Africa but we pray for the ignorant lost ones right? secondly 90 percent of the disrespect I read was from the women, Im NOT ASKING. As for the men who would "rather take hom animals" a battyman dem and I'm sure some of them are muma-lashies and have said bull but as I said to each his own. It says alot about someone's character to consider dating an animal to spite another HUMAN does it not? A coward is a coward, a blasted fool is a blasted fool. Simple. As for African Americans, I live in the US they dont have room to talk about anybody and do not dare approach us they rather try to befriend us or stay away-rightfully so I am not even interested in that! I didnt diss African women, I consider myself one so please reread.

@ N101,

It is obvious you misinterpreted my point.

What I meant was that English is not our native or "first" language,

And due to this fact, we are bound to have accents.

In order words, no one should judge us for our accents,

As English is only a "borrowed" or better-say "enforced" language on us.

Hope this clarifies your misunderstanding.

There are so many misinformation about Jamaican African Heritage. Our  African descendant is Ghana and not Nigeria. As for this post is nothing but rubbish and stupidity. Every country as hardworking and lazy people. If one country only had hardworking persons then it would be boring and vice versa.  Jamaica is consist of 2.7 million persons and not 3.5 mil. Let us respect the culture of others and stop the bickering and fighting.

As for Nigerian males loving Jamaican females lmao. If the truth to be known Nigerian men only seek female outside of their country because they are looking for citizenship to enriched their lives and nothing more. Yes sometimes cupid play his part but how many Jamaicans are willing to put up with the Nigerian culture. Right now am inside a relationship with a Nigerian man and I have to keep praying for strength because I know that he need his citizenship and am willing to be there for him because I have fallen in love with him.  But is it that he is willing to understand my culture the way I have put myself out to understand his.

Anyway poster we are not know as Jamo I don't know where you get this from. Jamaican nicknames are Jamdowners or Yardies.

As for that person that talk about Passa Passa please know that every culture as their ways of entertainment and so don't bashed what others deemed enjoyable to them.

Stop the fighting amongst yourself because at the end of the day we are all Africans or black people.

Jamdowners,Yardies  and Jamos are all slang words. People should all be allowed to call themself what they wish.

This is a pointless issue who cares what you call yourself.

The slaves were taken from all over Africa, Nigeria included.

Mind you give the guy his papers fast fast.

OH MY GOODNESS I AM SO ANGRY I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START!!!!!

@ poster (mzdarkskin) , THIS WHOLE POST WAS PURE *BULLSHiT* angry ;, I know a number of jamaican women and they are WILD, CLASSLESS and CHEAP!!!! they do wear coloured weaves and all they do is have babies for several men, ninety percent of welfare in britain goes to carribean women with britain-born babies, its almost as if they hav children so as to get free acommodation & stipend frm d british govt!, there are statistics to prove this. you shudnt evn compare carribean women to Nigerian ones, Nigerian women are sooo much better. & Point of correction.;, Nigerian men rarely ever marry carribean women, they are only good for sexual affairs; PERIOD

Nigerian Men like marrying foreign women for d hype!!! the hype of having a woman of anoda race, & half-cast children, or for VISA's / Citizenship, or even because foreign women are more "trusting" than Nigerian ones especially since foreign women dont know d truth bout african culture. so dont think its cos carribean women are so special. and i know nigerian women are very tough and smart; we are motivated and driven and that may intimidate some nigerian men into going after foreign women. but let me assure u that the BEST of Nigerian Men ALWAYS date & marry Nigerian Women. carribean girls u can hav d rest!

@MzDarkSkin
It appears that Jamaicans in the US are very different from Jamaicans in the UK. The issue of class and ambition which is supposed lacking in UK-Jamaicans is something that is seen very rampantly in London and Birmingham, two of the largest cities in the UK. Also with regards to respect, you might respect Africans where you are, America has a different take on colour and there is more unity amongst all Blacks from all backgrounds. Here in the UK, it is different.

Not all but a lot of Jamaicans look at Africans as foreigners (yes!!) cos they don't have surnames like Carlisle or Marshall. They see Africans as bush and beneath them cos they wear traditional African attire. They also see them as descendants of those who sold them into slavery. A lot of Africans, especially Nigerians came to the UK at an older age and came to study. Most Jamaicans here were born here. The drive we bring with us is imbibed in our African culture but as a socialistic society, you don't have to work hard to get by, the government has a safety net for you. This has made our Jamaican brothers and sisters here a lot more lackadaisical attitude. And they think the ambitious Africans make them look bad with their middle class status and three degrees.
