Am a swimming pool and spa builder, based in Lagos.

1st pool: A swimming pool with 3 waterfall & jacuzzi .
Project cost: 8 million - 9 million.
Maintenance cost: 50,000 per month.

2nd pool: A skimmer pool .
Project cost: 5 million - 6 million.
Maintenance cost: 40,000 per month.

3rd pool: A swimming pool with jacuzzi.
Project cost: 6 million - 7 million.
Maintenance cost: 45,000 per month.

N.B. the price range are for Lagos project & mini swimming pool.

Unless you are a millionaire, i would not advise any Nigerian to invest in one. To build it is not the problem. To maintain it is the issue. I'd rather invest in the inflatable one.

Maybe in Nigeria. Done the right way, with the chemicals and monthly cleaning, it is very expensive. A pool can be a health hazard if not run properly.

Hw on his own accord decided to construct a pool and even gave out pictures of what he is anticipating to construct, it is out of his own volition, I guess he understood the economic and social implications before he decided to initiate the move.

which one is maintain maintain. Oga lemme burst Ur bubbles.. If he duchess up a bore hole, and has a cap to release water. Has a cap or pipe that releases the water in the pool out.. Then nothing like maintenance here.. Lemme explain cause u no grab.. The water needs to be cleaned with chlorine Abi.. Okay now.. He don't want to use chlorine, what will he do? He will simply exchange the water anytime he wants to swim. A fresh water can be fresh for upto 7 days if not very dirty. After 7 days, he drains the water completely and allows the pool to dry.. And they adds a new fresh water from the bore hole already dug..

Call mallam to dig to the depth you want
Call those building people to cement the inside neatly
Call a tiler and use blue tile
Call someone to wash the inside well
Make sure you have a borehole.

Not less than 3m for those mini pools, that is if you want to have like 10 massage jets, hot and cold water regulators and ofcourse the under water lighting systems, dowsing machine with water treatment systems. Mine is an indoor pool, cos I dont want neighbours seeing me having good times with girls inside my pool.

I run a small plumbing and water engineering firm from my experience 500k- 800k depending on the location,size and fittings. The above figure does not include contractors profit which is 25% of the above figure

Uve made d wisest contribution here.....with borehole and a standby gen. Chlorine usage will be limited.

In other news these pools above cannot cost more than 2m at most. All these people posting 3m....4m....7m...8m are contractors looking for that one breakthrough in life. Just like when some nairalanders said a 5bdroom duplex with moderate finishing would cost a minimum of 50m.

Wow! They're cool, and I think the maintenance is far lower than the conventional swimming pool but the durability is what I'm not sure of. Anyway, thank you so much!

Just a mini pool like the ones in the pictures that can fit in 100/50 ft land that already has a portable house.
