How to Fight Spiritual Warfare - 1.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holdswink". (2nd Corinthians 10:3-4).

It is an understatement to say that we are involved in a spiritual warfare. It is imperative we understand the nature of this warfare, who the real enemy is and how the battle is fought. The opening text says we do not war after the flesh. In other words, it is not a physical fight and it has nothing to do with your physical muscles. In addition, it says, the weapon we use are not man made.

Today, we hear of some professing believers using weapons like canes to whip the devil. This is ignorance on rampage. Your physical whip has no effect on the devil and his cohorts. Spiritual battles requires spiritual weapons.

Again, it's important to know who our real enemy is. It is true that there are people who have made themselves your enemy and they engage in activities designed to destroy your destiny. Most of these people are possessed with the spirit of witchcraft which they use to bewitch targeted victims. As a result of their wicked acts, so many resort to prayer languages and forms to kill these witches. But these forms of prayers are found wanting when examined in the light of the teachings of our Lord Jesus and his Apostles.

These forms of prayers is usually based on the instruction contained in Exodus 22:18 which reads; "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." Is this instruction still tenable in the dispensation we are living in? Are there other ways we are supposed to deal with these witches? These and other related questions will be dealt with in the course of this devotional topic.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the victory I have in Christ Jesus. I ask that you fill me with the knowledge of your will on how to fight my spiritual battles in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: The Lord will turn your captivity in the same way he did for Job in the name of Jesus. Because of the blood of Jesus that was shed for you, every projection of death on you and your family members will passover you in the name of Jesus. The Lord who fed the Jews in the wilderness will supply your need in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holdswink". (2nd Corinthians 10:3-4).

Our battle is not against humans even though wicked spirits operate through people to attempt to hurt us. Today, witchcraft operation is one of the ways evil men perpetrate their evil schemes. So many professing believers command death on witches as instructed under the Law of Moses. But, the teachings of our Lord Jesus instructs us otherwise.

Jesus said, "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you". (Matthew 5:44). So, how are we supposed to deal with witchcraft manipulations? You simply bind their activities persistently. Our Lord Jesus said, "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven". (Matthew 18:18).

In addition, Apostle Peter admonished, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world". (1st Peter 5:8-9).

Under the Old Testament law, it was persimissible to kill witches. But in the dispensation of grace that we live in, you are not permitted to do so. Vengeance is the exclusive right of God. "Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord". (Romans 12:19,18). So, you don't have to kill anyone to win a spiritual battle. The Lord can prepare a place for you in the presence of your enemies.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Merciful and Faithful God, I thank you for the assurance of victory I have in Christ Jesus. I therefore declare that every evil device of wicked men will not prosper against me in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: You are entering into your rest in the name of Jesus. There is no retrogression or stagnation against you in the name of Jesus. The Lord will cause the light of his countenance to shine upon you in the name of Jesus. He will give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holdswink". (2nd Corinthians 10:3-4).

So far, we have addressed the issue of prayer languages that are targeted on perceived enemies. You are not supposed to destroy lives through any form of prayers. Even chantings like Holy Ghost fire are unnecessary. You do not have the moral right to rain fire and brimstone on anyone. You are not even supposed to do that on the devils or evil spirits.

When Jesus had an encounter with a demon, hear what the demon said to Jesus, "...What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not". (Matthew 5:7). The demons actually made their appeal to God, the highest authority restraining Jesus from tormenting him. And Jesus did not torment them. He only cast them out. There is a time set aside for the punishment of these demons and until that time comes, you have no right to torment them. Hence, another record of Jesus encounter with a demon reads, "What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?". (Matthew 8:29).

Even when his disciples James and John suggested he should rain down fire from heaven to consume those who despised him, Jesus replied; "...Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village". (Luke 9:55-56).

So, the Church needs to refrain from the present trend of destroying lives through so called dangerous prayer languages most of which sounds like witchcraft chantings. The Bible is very clear on how we should fight our warfare and will will discuss the right ways to engage in this warfare as we progress in this study.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Dear Father, I bless your holy name. I thank you for unveiling to me the wrong ways to wage my spiritual warfare. I pray for your grace to see me through as I stand my ground on the truth of your word in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: I see God opening doors of favour for you in the name of Jesus. You will meet with opportunities that will lift you up to your next level in the name of Jesus. Every conspiracy against you will not stand in the name of Jesus. God will cause every circumstances you are faced with to work together for your good in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high". (Ephesians 6:11-12).

The first thing every battle ready soldier does is to put on its armour and prepare his weapons for battle. In the same sense, there are spiritual armour you must put on as you engage in spiritual battle. And it must be the whole armour of God. No part of the armour should be left out.

Before we begin to look at the nature of each part of the armour, it is imperative we understand the nature of the fight and the categories of evil forces we are contending with. First, we are not in battle with the devil because he has been defeated over two thousands years ago by our Lord Jesus. We are actually standing our ground against his tricks and destroying all its evil schemes. It is therefore absurd to see banners of programmes tagged, 'fire for fire'. This kind of perception puts you at the same level with the devil. But we are more than a match for him.

The opening text says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high". The list of evil powers listed above are different rank of power from the least to the greatest. Principalities and powers are first in the list. The striking difference between both is not very clear as they are often mentioned together. However, they exert influence over the lives of people, families and communities. Some of these evil spirits work through humans. Witchcraft spirit is an example of such evil spirits. The last rank of spirits we contend with are the evil rulers of the darkness of this world. This one are higher in their influence. These are spirits that rule over nations and kingdoms. The wicked spirits in high places are the spirits that angels of God contend with. They are responsible for temporal delays of heavenly resources delivered to us in response to our prayers and God divine agenda.

Whatever rank they belong to, you are more than a conqueror through Christ that strengthens you. The greater one lives in you. You have all that is required to subdue them and stand firm in the faith. Tomorrow, we will begin to look at each part of this armour and their importance.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Great and mighty God, I worship you in the beauty of holiness. I thank for unveiling the evil powers we have to stand our ground against. I declare that their manipulations against me shall not prosper in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: You are like a tree planted by the riverside and your leaves will not wither in the name of Jesus. You are released from every demonic influence in the name of Jesus. The God who favored Esther to become queen even in a strange land will favour you in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"...Take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness". (Ephesians 6:13-14).

Whether we like it or not, evil days will come. God never promised us a troubled free life but he did promise us victory in whatever we are faced with. Hence our Lord Jesus said, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world". (John 16:33).

However, you don't have to wait for trouble to come before you begin to equip yourself for spiritual battle. Such emergency response to trouble hardly brings solution. It is far better you get yourself battle ready so that when trouble shows up, you already know what to do. The opening text says, "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth....". The first part of the armour is truth tied like a belt round your waist.

Truth is any statement or anything that is consistent with God's provision for us in Christ Jesus. Our Lord Jesus prayed, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth". (John 17:17). The present error in the Church today is that of regarding every content of the Bible as the truth of God's word. Hence, a large percentage of the Church make use of quotations from any part of the Bible in their spiritual battle.

Jesus is the truth and as such any statement or teachings that is not consistent with what he said should not be regarded as truth. Some of the truth of God's word you should be acquainted with are; 1. Satan has been defeated, 2. You have been delivered from his domain and dominion, 3. You are seated in a position of authority over principalities and powers, 4. Darkness cannot overcome light, 5. The greater One lives in you and that makes you more than a conqueror, 6. The righteous is delivered out of trouble, 7. You have no past and as such you shouldn't allow the devil or anyone to use your past against you. In addition, you have a guaranteed future. I can go on and on.

Knowledge of these truths gives you confidence and puts you in the right frame of mind to handle the challenges of life. Ignorance destroys. So many professing believers fall prey to fake Pastors and Prophets because of ignorance. Study God's word and find out the truth of God's word for yourself. Also make effort to live by the revelation you receive. No matter how raging the storm is, a man of knowledge will always prevail. The devil is a liar and the father of it. Don't listen to his lies. Stand on the truth of God's word. It is your sure foundation that guarantees you victory in every situation of life.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Dear father, I am grateful for the opportunity to get acquainted with your word. It is the truth I stand upon and I know you watch over your word to fulfill it in my life in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: You are on God's top list to be favoured in the name of Jesus. Goodness and mercy will be your companion for the rest of your life in the mighty name of Jesus. Help is coming your way in the name of Jesus. The God that fed the Jews in the wilderness for forty years will supply your needs in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"...Take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness". (Ephesians 6:13-14).

Yesterday, we mentioned the first part of the armour of God you should put on in other to successfully stand against the tricks of the devil - the belt of truth. It is the truth that you know and put to work that makes you free. The second part of the armour Apostle Paul mentioned is the breastplate of righteousness.

Righteousness can be viewed from four perspectives; First, it is having a right standing with God. You establish a right standing with God when you accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. You cannot win any spiritual battle if you don't have a right standing with God. Second, you must think the right thoughts. Don't allow evil and sinful thoughts to overwhelm your mind and your heart. If you do, it will defile you and put you in a disadvantaged position as guilt will rob you of confidence. Besides, it opens the door for Satan to accuse you before God.

Thirdly, it has to do with saying the right words. Many a time, some of the challenges people face in life is the direct result of wrong utterances. Avoid evil speaking of your brethren, especially men of God. It opens the door for affliction which often defy medical cures. Hence, the psalmist said, "What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.". (Psalms 34:12-13).

The subject of righteousness though not dealt with from the pulpit as it should be cannot be overemphasized. The Scripture says, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people". (Proverbs 14:34). In addition, it says, "In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death". (Proverbs 12:28). Tomorrow, we will talk about the fourth and last part of righteousness which is right doing.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Holy father, I exalt and magnify you. I thank you for the gift of righteousness I have received in Christ Jesus. As I walk in the consciousness of my right standing with you, I declare that I will triumph in every situation I am faced with in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: just like Jesus rose from the death, I see you rising about the challenges you are faced with in the name of Jesus. May the peace of God which surpasses human understanding guard your mind and heart in the name of Jesus. I declare that the blessing of Abraham will rest upon you in the name of Jesus. Amen.

"...Take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS". (Ephesians 6:13-14).

It matters what goes on in your mind and what you say as you engage in spiritual warfare. This was our focus yesterday. Today, we will dwell on the the things you do. Right doing or acts of righteousness is not negotiable if you must stand your ground against the forces of darkness.

The Scripture is our sure guide on how we ought to live our lives and principles we should follow. For instance, if you are facing uncommon financial challenges, it is not enough for you to fast and pray, bind and cast, you must apply kingdom financial principles in the way you administer funds that comes to your custody. Never play light on the principles of firstfruits, tithing and offerings. Space will not permit us to go into details concerning this issue of giving in this discussion here. They have been repeatedly dealt with in previous editions.

This same applies to issues that bothers on relationships. There are so many people especially our young ladies who allude the delay in getting married to evil forces. It is sometimes true that there are spiritual undertones to successful relationships and marriages but most of the times, it is caused by our rebellious acts.

For instance, there are many professing Christian women who get hooked up with unbelievers and expect a smooth relationship. The Bible tags such relationship as an unequal yoke. Hence it is written, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people". (2nd Corinthians 6:14-16).

You can't also engage in premarital sex indiscriminately and expect God to bless the relationship. Acts of righteousness attracts the favour of God and secures his blessings in all that you do. Hence our Lord Jesus said, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his RIGHTEOUSNESS; and all these things shall be added unto you". (Matthew 6:33).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Holy God and everlasting father, I give you praise for your goodness and faithfulness. I ask for your mighty grace to live by the precepts of your word so I can position myself for a victorious Christian life in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: Your light will shine brighter and brighter unto a perfect day in the name of Jesus. Darkness may cover the whole earth but the Lord will arise upon you and his glory will be seen in your life in the name of Jesus. God's strength will be perfected in your weakness in the name of Jesus. His mercy and grace will see you through your trying moments in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace". (Ephesians 6:15).

Another part of the armour we will look at is the gospel shoe. Spiritual warfare that does not translate into soul winning is a fruitless fight. The main goal of the kingdom of darkness is to ensure that lost souls never see the light of the gospel and also to cause as many professing believers to fall away from the faith.

So, any believer in Christ that is not actively involved in soul winning activities is really not battle ready. In fact, such Christians are not a threat to the kingdom of darkness. Your primary focus should be on the expansion of God's Kingdom. Soul winning is God's number one job on earth and you must be involved.

The challenges of life you are faced with comes actually to take your attention and affection away from the things of God. But you should get to the point in your Christian faith where you will esteem God's purpose more than your problems. Our Lord Jesus never allowed the challenges of his days to distract him. At an occasion in his ministry, his mother tried to get his attention on a crusade ground but Jesus never allowed himself to be distracted - Matthew 12:48-50.

Even when he heard that his cousin, John the Baptist has been beheaded, he immediately left that city to another one and continued his healing ministry - Matthew 14:10-14. Apostle Paul also was one person who made up his mind to preach the gospel in season and out of season. His commitment was so unflinching that he asked, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword?". (Romans 8:35).

Your spiritual armour is therefore incomplete without your gospel shoes on. Getting involved in soul winning is one sure way to secure God's favour and overcome difficult times. As you get committed to soul winning activities, God himself will manifest himself in your life and lift you up to enviable positions in life.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Merciful father, I thank you for counting me worthy to be part of the last days army. I ask for your boldness to proclaim the gospel that has been committed to our trust in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: I see God perfecting that which is lacking in your faith in the name of Jesus. God is at work in you both to will and do of his good pleasures in the name of Jesus. God will cause those who have despised you to come and bow down at your feet in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked". (Ephesians 6:15).

Perhaps, one of the most important part of the armour you should put on is faith as a shield. The faith lifestyle is not negotiable if you must live a victorious Christian life. It acts as a shield against all the dangerous arrows the devil throws on you.

The arrows usually come in the form of thoughts that runs through your mind. If you allow those thoughts to get a hold of your mind, it will paralyse your faith and set you up for defeat. Virtually all actions we take begins in our minds. Those who commit suicide do so because they allow the thought of suicide to take root in their hearts.

You must mount guard over your mind if you want to overcome. Your journey to success or failure begins in your mind. The way to shield your heart and mind from this dangerous arrows or negative thoughts is to counter them with the word of faith. If the thought of failure tries to creep in, speak words of success. If the thought of poverty or lack crosses your mind, open your mouth and declare that you are rich.

This is what Apostle Paul meant when he said, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ". (2nd Corinthians 10:5). This was exactly what our Lord Jesus did when he was tempted. I believe the temptation our Lord faced came in the form of thoughts the devil threw on him. And for each negative thoughts, he responded by saying, 'it is written...", thus conquered the evil scheme of darkness.

Speak faith filled words constantly. Never allow imaginations from the pit of hell get a hold on your mind. The faith lifestyle guarantees victory. " For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith". (1st John 5:4).

Confession of Faith: I reject every negative thoughts the devil suggests to me in the name of Jesus. I have faith in God. I believe what his word says concerning me. I therefore declare that every good promises of God will come to fulfillment in my life in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: Your expectations in life will not be cut off in the name of Jesus. God will lead you in the path of righteousness for his name sake. His truth will be your shield and buckler in the name of Jesus. You will thread on snakes and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God". (Ephesians 6:17).

Every soldier fully prepared for battle puts on an helmet to protect his head. In the same way, there is a spiritual helmet you should put on. It is called the helmet of salvation. It has to do with a full awareness that you are truly saved. There are quite a few people who though they have received Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour but they are not sure they are saved. They keep responding to altar call from one crusade to another.

There are yet others who still seek for one special deliverance or the other after they have received Christ into their hearts. Another reason some professing believers don't feel saved is because of one habit or the other they still struggle with.

What you need to know that you are saved is the evidence of God's word. Then word of God says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved". (Romans 10:9). In another place, it says, " For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved". (Romans 10:13).

It is true that their are so many believers that are still having problems with their flesh. This doesn't mean they are not saved. They just need to renew their minds in the word of God. The word of God has the ability to sanctify us. Hence, our Lord Jesus said, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth". (John 17:17).

It is imperative to mention here that salvation is not just the idea of being saved from your sin. It also implies the idea of deliverance, preservation, safety and healing. Your redemption in Christ is a complete package. Sin and all the negative effects of sins has been done away with in Christ. Don't let anyone deceive you that you need a special deliverance after you have received Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed". (John 8:36). Tomorrow, we will talk about the other context the word salvation is being used - the redemption of our body.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Dear Father, I thank you for the redemption I have in Christ Jesus. I am fully convinced that I am saved. I therefore reject every lie from the pit of hell that suggests otherwise. God's word says I am saved, delivered, healed and rich. I believe it and that settles it. I therefore walk in the full consciousness of the liberty I have in Christ Jesus in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God's counsel for your life shall stand in the name of Jesus. You candle light will not go out in the name of Jesus. Whatever you lay your hands upon shall prosper in the name of Jesus. You will see the goodness of God is this land of the living in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God". (Ephesians 6:17).

The consciousness that you are saved gives you an advantage as you stand your ground against the cohorts of darkness. The other aspect of salvation that strengthens your faith is the hope of the redemption of your body. And this will take during the rapture of the church. At the sound of the last trumpet, the dead in Christ will rise. We that are alive will be caught up with them in a glorified body to meet the Lord in the air. This is our ultimate hope in Christ. Apostle Paul said, "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable". (1st Corinthians 15:19).

It is this awareness of the afterlife in Christ that strengthened the early church in the times of their persecutions. These were the believers that "...were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection". (Hebrews 11:35).

Even if you are not faced with any form of persecution like the early church had, the hope of your final redemption at the appearance of our Lord Jesus should strengthen your faith in trying moments. The ultimate goal of the devil is to frustrate your Christian faith such that you draw back in your commitment to God. "But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul". (Hebrews 10:39).

So, don't be afraid to stand tall for Jesus at all times. Never allow the pressure of the challenges you are faced with lure you to live a compromised life. What matters most is your salvation. Hence the Scripture says, "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses". (1st Timothy 6:12). Don't pursue wealth or fame at the expense of your salvation. "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content". (1st Timothy 6:7-cool.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Glorious father, I thank you for the hope of salvation I have in Christ Jesus. I refuse to allow the cares of this world to take my focus away from the heavenly goal. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God". (Ephesians 6:17).

So far, virtually all the parts of the armour we have discussed are protective armours. The opening text reveals another part of the armour which is both defensive and offensive in nature - the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. You use God's word to defend yourself against the lies of the devil. You also use it to launch an offensive on him.

Satan dreads God's word. The Bible says, "...the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart". (Hebrews 4:12). In addition, it says that God upholds all things by the word of his power - Hebrews 1:3.

However, it must be applied skillfully like everyone who fights with a sword. Ignorance of God's word is the reason so many Christians fall prey to false prophets who use God's word inappropriately to make merchandise of them. Devote time to Bible study so you can know the truth for yourself. Otherwise, you will be told a lie which you will believe like it's happening before our very eyes today.

Acquaintance with the word of God gives you an advantage over the devil. When the devil knows that you know the truth, he tremble each time you open your mouth to declare God's word. And God is committed to bring his word to pass in your life. Speak it constantly with boldness and the devil will have no option but to bow to the authority of God's word.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: I thank you heavenly father for the power of your word. I believe in the truth contained therein and I therefore affirm it in my life everyday knowing fully well that it will be fulfilled in due season in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: You will flourish like a Palm tres in the name of Jesus. You will be celebrated where you have been tolerated in the name of Jesus. Those who have looked down on you will look up to you in the name of Jesus. You are like a watered garden whose leaves will never wither in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints". (Ephesians 6:18)

The most powerful activity you should engage in constantly if you must prevail in your spirit warfare is prayer. Prayer is the way to the throne room of God. Through prayers, you destroy every works of darkness and disorganize their gatherings.

However, It is one thing to pray and it is another thing to pray the right way. There are different forms of prayer today and languages used that makes most of our Churches look like a glorified witchcraft coven. As such, you hear chantings like, die, die, fall and die, Holy Ghost fire etc. These forms of prayers are unscriptural. They are based on the ministry of death and condemnation otherwise known as the Law of Moses which has been abolished by Christ.

There are simple rules you should understand if your prayer must produce result. First, you pray to the father in the name of Jesus. In addition, whatever you ask in prayer, believe you already receive and you shall have them - Mark 11:24, 1st John 5:14-15.

The most effective way to pray is in tongues. This is what Apostle Paul referred to as praying in the Spirit in the opening text. Tongue is a language of the Spirit that accompanies the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is free gift of God to all who believe. Hence Apostle Peter said in his first crusade, "For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call". (Acts 2:39).

Spend time to pray in tongues as often as you can. It is difficult to frustrate a man who prays constantly in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the limit breaker. Even your intercession should be done more in tongues. The Holy Spirit understands the mind of God and helps you to pray according to his will. Tomorrow, we will throw more light on the power of praying in tongues.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Dear father, I thank you for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit and the opportunity to pray in tongues. I take advantage of this gift and prevail over all the evil schemes of darkness in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God will crush Satan under your feet in the name of Jesus. The evil powers that come against you one way will flee seven ways in the name of Jesus. Every situation you are faced with will work together for your good in the name of Jesus. In place of sorrow, you will have joy in the name of Jesus. God will fill your mouth with songs of deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints". (Ephesians 6:18)

Today, we will talk more about the power of praying in tongues which we introduced yesterday. Praying in tongues is the most effective way to pray. It is the language of the Spirit. And since the Holy Spirit understands the mind of God, he helps you to make intercession according to the will of God - Romans 8:26.

Besides, praying in tongues helps you to more sensitive to the things of the Spirit. It is much more easier to hear from God and receive direction for life when you pray in the Spirit. Sometimes, the breakthrough you need in life is just a wise counsel from God. Hence the Holy Spirit is also known as a Counselor.

A believer that is filled with the Holy Spirit knows when danger is lurking. It sometimes comes in the form of a burden or strange feelings that gives you so much discomfort. This is where praying in tongues comes in. At such moment, the prayer you offer in tongues helps to avert any evil portend on you. This is why it is difficult for certain things to happen to a child of God who prays often in tongues.

The Holy Spirit through praying in tongues can change things around for your good. It is an inherent power residing in you that you can use to change hopeless situation. It can turn your wilderness into a fruitful field.

Finally, praying constantly in tongues takes you to the realm of visions and prophecies. Space will not permit us to go into details on this but God will reveal things that are yet to happen to you. Such visions which sometimes comes through dreams at night will cause you to understand God's purpose for your life. Even the evil plots of darkness are also revealed through visions so you can cancel them through prayers.

Don't take lightly the issue of praying in tongues. It is one sure weapon you can use to prevail in your spiritual warfare. It makes you supernatural. It is the fast track to progress and breakthrough in life. The gift is for every believer. Hence our Lord Jesus said, "And these signs shall FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE; In my name shall they cast out devils; THEY SHALL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover". (Mark 16:17-18).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Merciful and faithful God, I thank you for the victorious life I have in Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. I therefore declare that I am more than a conqueror through Christ that strengthens me in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: Every powers of darkness arrayed against you shall bow in the name of Jesus. Every wall of limitation standing between you and your inheritance shall crumble in the name of Jesus. The God who parted the red sea for the children of Israel to pass through will make a way for you in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation". (1st Thessalonians 5:cool.

We have already discussed one role faith plays as we engage in our spiritual warfare. You use faith as a shield against the dangerous arrows the devil throws at you. You also put on faith as a breastplate as a protective armour against the onslaught of the enemy.

To put on faith as a breastplate simply means, have an attitude of faith. You should get to a point in your Christian faith where you stand firm on God's word in spite of contrary evidences. You tell that devil, I may not have money in my pocket but I still believe I am rich. I may still feel the symptoms of sickness in my body but I believe that I am healed. This is what it means to put on the breastplate of faith. Nothing moves a man who has the breastplate of faith on. He is not moved by what he sees, hears or feels. He is only moved by the word of God.

Putting on the breastplate of faith also connotes I can do all things mentality. It is a winners mentality. He is fearless and ready to face any circumstances. Put him in the desert, he will find a way to succeed. This is the attitude you must put up if you want to overcome every situation you are faced with. Never accept defeat. Even if you suffer a temporal setback, learn from it and start all over again. Remember that the greater one lives inside you. Move on in life with a victors mentality. "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith" (1st John 5:4).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Heavenly father, I have faith in your word. I stand my ground on what your word says even in the face of contrary evidences. I thank you for I know you will always cause me to triumph in life over every adverse circumstances in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God will do a quick work in your life and cut it short in righteousness. The time for God to favour you has come and the set time is now. You will enjoy the good things of this life you did not work for in the name of Jesus. You path will shine brighter and brighter unto a perfect day in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation". (1st Thessalonians 5:cool.

Another important armour mentioned alongside the breastplate of faith is the breastplate of love. They are actually inseparable armour. In other words, it is one breastplate that has both the virtue of faith and love. As powerful and as important faith is, it is rendered ineffective without love. Hence Apostle Paul wrote, "For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love". (Galatians 5:6).

One of the reasons quite a few professing believers don't seem to experience breakthrough in their spiritual warfare is because they negate the principles of love. On the contrary, they engage in warfare filled with hatred, malice and unforgiving. This makes it difficult for God to intervene in their situations as God can only operate in the arena of love.

Abraham at a point in his walk with God had a ugly encounter with King Abimelech who took his wife, Sarah thinking she was just a sister to Abraham. But God appeared to the king that night and asked him to restore her back to her husband. He did but before then, God had closed up the womb of every woman in his household for Sarah's sake. However, after he restored back the wife to Abraham, God told Abraham to pray for King Abimelech so that the plague of barreness could be removed. Abraham did and God healed Abimelech and opened the womb of his wives and maidservants so that they conceived - Genesis 20:17-18. And not too long, Abraham, Sarah's wife also conceived - Genesis 21:1-2. This is not a coincidence. There are certain breakthrough you may never experience in life until you pass the love test.

This was the same way Job got his breakthrough after months of afflictions. The Scripture says, "And the LORD TURNED THE CAPTIVITY OF JOB, WHEN HE PRAYED FOR HIS FRIENDS: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before". (Job 42:10).

So if you want to experience breakthrough in your spiritual warfare, learn to forgive anyone who has hurt you and pray for them. Don't be afraid their evil schemes and don't wish or pray for them to die. The Lord can and will prepare a table before you in their presence. We will throw more light on this subject of love in connection with spiritual warfare tomorrow.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Heavenly father, I thank you for putting your love inside me. I have the capacity to love others the way you love them. I extend this love even to those who have hurt me so that my prayers will not be hindered. I am confident that as I do so, you will step into my situation and give me the breakthrough I need in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: The same God that turned the captivity of Job will reverse every negative trend in your life in the name of Jesus. Every shame that the enemy has placed on you will be taken away in the name of Jesus. God will fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with rejoicing in the name of Jesus. You will be lifted up beyond your wildest dreams and imaginations in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation". (1st Thessalonians 5:cool.

The need to put on the breastplate of love as we engage in spiritual warfare was emphasized yesterday. Today, we will go into more details on the subject. The Scripture says, "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and EVERY ONE THAT LOVETH IS BORN OF GOD ... FOR WHATSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith". (1st John 4:7, 5:4).

From the scriptures just quoted above, we can see that faith is the victory but love is the key. To be born of God is to be born of the nature of love. "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love". (1st John 4:cool. So, you can't expect to win if you are not clothed with the love nature of God.

The nature of this love we have received is so broad but we will just begin to mention a few them that you must be acquainted with if you want to win in your spiritual warfare. One of the attributes of love is forgiveness. You must learn to forgive and get rid of grudges for you to overcome.

Our Lord Jesus when he taught on the subject of faith said, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith". (Mark 11:23). He immediately linked it with the subject of forgiveness when he added;

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, FORGIVE, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

There are so many professing believers who engage in spiritual warfare but are full of grudge and bitterness even towards their brethren and loved ones. They pray and fast often but nothing seems to have changed. All they see are enemies who they must reign down fire and brimstone upon. But the key to their breakthrough is just to forgive whoever has hurt them and even pray for them.

Hence Apostle Paul wrote, "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you". (Ephesians 4:31-32).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Dear father, I thank you for forgiven me of my trespasses in Christ Jesus. I receive grace also to forgive those who trespass against me. I refuse to allow bitterness and wrath to take root in my heart. Thank you heavenly father for given me the ability to love others the way you loved me in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God will divinely orchestrate your footsteps to meet with your destiny helpers in the name of Jesus. Your wasted years shall be restored back to you in the name of Jesus. The supernatural power of the Holy Spirit will catapult you to greater heights in the name of Jesus. The blessings of God will pursue and overtake you in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation". (1st Thessalonians 5:cool.

Yesterday, we emphasized the need to forgive and get rid of bitterness if you want to have breakthrough in life. Some of the struggles we go through in life are caused by bitterness and unwillingness to forgive. There are negative attitudes or character dispositions that repels the presence of God. Such attitudes as bitterness and strifes opens the door for the devil to attack and afflict you. And there is no fasting and prayers that will heal such affliction until you repent from it.

Another aspect of love that affects your breakthrough in life is giving. Love gives. God wants us to be givers as it is one sure way to secure his blessing. God through prophet Isaiah rebuked the Jews for their frequent fast which is done in wickedness because they never cared for the poor in their midst. He thus recommended a different form of fast when he said, "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?". (Isaiah 58:6-7).

"Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;". (Isaiah 58:8-9).

Prophet Isaiah listed even more blessings from verses 10 to 12 of the same chapter. In summary, your breakthrough in life is not necessarily a function of the numbers of days you fast and pray even though you should do so periodically. It has more to do with living by divine principles one of which is giving to the poor around you especially brethren in need. This is what triggers God's blessing and endless favour in your life.

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Thou shalt surely give [your brethren in need], and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto". (Galatians 6:10, Deuteronomy 15:10).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Gracious father, I thank you unveiling divine truths concerning giving that are designed to lift me up. Let your blessing overflow in my life so I can be a blessing to as many as I will have the opportunity to give to in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God will keep you from every form of evil in the name of Jesus. Your going out and your coming in shall be blessed in the name of Jesus. You will live and not die in the name of Jesus. The God that fed the Jews in the wilderness for forty years will supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.". (Ezekiel 37:3-4).

The opening text is an excerpt of the conversation Prophet Ezekiel had with God. Ezekiel had a vision of dry bones when the Lord carried him in the Spirit. And the Lord asked him, "Son of man, can these bones live?" Ezekiel responded, "O Lord GOD, thou knowest". And the Lord told him to prophesy to the dry bones.

Prophet Ezekiel did and there was a miracle. He narrated, "So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them".(Ezekiel 37:7-cool.

He was instructed to prophesy a second time and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army - Ezekiel 37:10.

There are times you are faced with a situation that seems hopeless like that of the dry bones Ezekiel saw in a vision, and you are waiting on God to do something about it. You might wait till eternity and nothing will happen because God has already given you the authority to change that situation through prophecy.

You wage war through prophetic utterances. You have the authority to decree what you want to see and it will happen just the way you say it. You may not get instant result like Ezekiel did but things will definitely turn around in your favour over time.

The words you speak are not ordinary words. They carry power and have the ability to change that seemingly hopeless situation. If you are sick in your body, speak health to it and lay claim on your healing. If you are bankrupt, command money to come and it will obey you. Sometimes, the money may not come the way you expect it but it will definitely come especially to those who are faithful in paying tithes and give quality offerings.

Your victory over adverse circumstances and wicked devices of evil men is not totally in the hands of God. It is in your mouth. God's responsibility is to watch over his word to fulfill it. So, speak God's word constantly over your family, job, business, your health and any area you want to experience change and God will bring them to pass in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Mighty God and everlasting father, I thank you for the authority you have given me to prophesy to my situation. I take advantage of it and declare the changes I desire in every situation I am faced with in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God will keep you from falling away from the faith in the name of Jesus. He will be your help in the time of troubles in the name of Jesus. He will be your guide when you need directions in the name of Jesus. And he will be your strength when it appears you cannot carry on in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven". (Matthew 18:18).

Our Lord Jesus taught his disciples how to bind and loose whatsoever they wish. The teaching reveals the authority we have as God's children. This is one sure way to engage in spiritual warfare. To bind simply means to forbid or prohibit. To loose means to release or permit.

If we know how to take advantage of this revelation, there are certain things that will never happen to us. For instance, you can bind accident from happening to you and you will never experience one. You can also say no to sickness and you will enjoy divine health 247.

In the same sense, you have the authority to bind or resist the devil and every powers of darkness from hurting you. This is what Apostle Peter admonished the Church to do when he said, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world". (1st Peter 5:8-9).

Notice the phrase, 'whom resist steadfast in the faith'. So, it is not something you do just one time and relax. You have to resist or bind the devil and his evil works constantly. And you do so using the name of Jesus. Evil spirits are intelligent being and they understand spiritual authority. Use the authority today and stop his evil schemes in your life. Also set loose God's blessings and favour upon your life and they will surely be yours in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: I bind every evil schemes of darkness arrayed against my life in the name of Jesus. I therefore declare that sickness, accident and even death will not come near my dwelling place in the name of Jesus. Father, I thank you because it is already endorsed in heaven in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: Uncommon favour awaits you this month in the name of Jesus. God will turn your obstacles into miracles in the name of Jesus. Your tears will be turned into cheers in the name of Jesus. You will be celebrated where you have been tolerated in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.". (Matthew 18:19).

There are times it's wise to take advantage of corporate prayers and mutual agreement as you engage in spiritual warfare. Our Lord Jesus said in the opening text that if two persons shall agree as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them. Put in a nutshell, get a prayer partner. Not just any prayer partner, someone who will be in agreement with you concerning anything you desire.

The Scripture says that, "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour". (Ecclesiates 4:9). When two or more people come together for a worthy cause, effort is not just added, it is multiplied. No wonder most of the prayer meetings held in the Bible days were done in groups.

Our Lord Jesus adds, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them". (Matthew 18:20). Such gathering gets heaven's attention because Jesus is in the midst through the power of his name.

So, when you are faced with situation that appears to be beyond your ability to tackle in prayer, get a prayer partner to agree with you or present your prayer request in prayer meetings where you have believers of like mind. God is faithful. He will certainly honour every prayers offered in accordance to his will and in the name of Jesus.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the opportunity to offer my prayers to you in partnership with my brethren. I am confident you will grant our petitions to the praise of your glory in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: You will flourish like a Palm tree in the name of Jesus. God will not leave or forsake you until his purpose for your life is established in the name of Jesus. The God that raised our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead will raise you to enviable heights in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb". (Romans 4:19).

The trials of life actually comes to test the strength of your faith. And the strength of your faith will determine whether you will overcome the spiritual warfare you are engaged in. God has given every believer the measure of faith you need to succeed. It is your responsibility to grow your faith and strengthen it.

Faith takes attention away from the situation one is faced with and focus on God with whom nothing is impossible. The opening text says Abraham refused to give consideration to his own body which was as good as dead nor the deadness of Sarah's womb. It was medically impossible for Sarah to conceive at that age but God proved science wrong in their lives.

As you engage in spiritual warfare, take your attention away from the challenges or situations you are faced with and look unto God. Hence Apostle Paul said, "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal". (2nd Corinthians 4:18).

Whatever you are faced with is subject to change and it will change. There are countless testimonies of people who received uncommon miracles from God both in the Bible days and even in the days we are living in. And if God did it for them, he will do it for you. "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise". (Hebrews 10:35-36).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Dear father, I thank you for your power and might that is beyond human understanding. I take my attention away from my situation and look unto you. I am fully persuaded that you can bring to pass what you have promised to do in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: The Lord will deliver you from every affliction in the name of Jesus. Doors of favour are opened for you which no one can shut in the name of Jesus. You will not beg for food and clothes in the name of Jesus. No weapon formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that rise against you in judgment is condemned in the name of Jesus. Amen.

"He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God". (Romans 8:20).

Abraham is regarded as the father of faith and as such there is so much to learn from his walk with God. The opening text says he did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith, giving glory or praises to God.

Today, we will look at the role of praise in our spiritual warfare. Praise is a powerful and offensive weapon the enemy cannot stand. If you believe that God heard you when you prayed, then you ought to give him praise as a demonstration of your faith in him. This is where most believers miss it. They go to church and shout their voices out in prayers to God. But after the prayer meeting, their countenance still looks dark and gloomy.

Your faith is perfected in praise. If takes faith to praise God when you haven't seen the manifestation yet. Praise gets the attention of heaven and secures it's divine intervention. No matter how much you pray or the numbers of scriptures you quote, without praise, you may not get the required breakthrough.

The wall of Jericho was still standing when God told the Jews to shout their loudest praise. Prayers didn't bring the walls down but praise did. This is not to undermine the power of prayers but it must be accompanied with genuine praise to secure your miracles. Hence Apostle Paul said, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving [or praise] let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus". (Philippians 4:6-7).

When you have prayed all you know to pray and quote all the scriptures you know and nothing seems to have changed, lift up your voice and shout aloud with a voice of triumph. Every wall of limitation will surely fall flat like the wall of Jericho did in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: My God and my father, I give you thanks for your unfailing love. I am not moved by the temporal delay in the manifestation of my expectations. I am resolved to praise you and I know I will not be put to shame in the name of Jesus. Amen

Prophecies: Every conspiracy against you will not stand in the name of Jesus. God will turn every curse invoked on you into a blessing in the name of Jesus. Every evil sacrifice offered at the altar of darkness against you will not prevail in the name of Jesus. The Lord will restore back to you twice as much as you have lost in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee". (1st Kings 3:4-5).

One powerful weapon you should use as you engage in spiritual warfare is seed offering. There is power in seed offering that you should take advantage of if you want to experience breakthroughs in your spiritual battles. Seed offering is so powerful such that you will not even need to fight some battles as things we just fall out in your favour.

King Solomon offered unto God one thousand burnt sacrifices that was uncommon in history as at that time. This prompted God's divine favour which came to him through a revelation in a dream he had. God gave King Solomon an open cheque; 'Ask what I shall give thee' was what God said to Solomon. It was not a coincidence. It was in response to the quality seed offering Solomon gave to the Lord.

However, King Solomon asked for wisdom to lead his people. This answer even puzzled God the more as an average person will normally ask for wealth. Nevertheless, God gave him the wisdom he requested and immeasurable wealth he didn't ask for. King Solomon was so rich that he was said to have gathered gold like dust. Besides, he was about the only King that didn't fight wars except for a few adversaries that was stirred against him when he married strange women.

The principle of seed offering is what ungodly men use to receive favour from the kingdom of darkness. There is no work a native doctor will do for the people of this world without requesting for offerings which are usually not cheap. However, the difference between offering given to God and that offered at the altar of darkness is that the solution gotten from the latter is not permanent. And whatever the devil gives to you is in exchange for your soul.

So, are you facing difficult times and you have tried all you know to do, give God quality seed offerings and you will be amazed at the result you will get. The result may not be instant but the breakthrough will definitely come. If you didn't get one, it is most likely that the offering you gave is an unworthy one. The word of God works. If it worked for King Solomon, it will work for you.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Heavenly Father, I thank you for unveiling to me the power behind seed offerings. I take advantage of this knowledge and will begin to sow quality offerings at your altar with the assurance that I will experience my most desired breakthrough in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: The Lord will open your eyes to behold wondrous things in his word that will lift you up in the name of Jesus. You will not be a victim of kidnappers, armed robbers and thieves in the name of Jesus. You will live and not die in the name of Jesus. You are getting out of every single debt in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto". (Deuteronomy 15:10).

Yesterday, we unveiled the power behind seed offerings. Seed sowing however is not an alternative to having a sustainable job or business. The harvest of the seed offering you give sometimes comes back to us through God blessing the works of your hands. So, if you don't have a job or business doing, God has nothing to bless.

There are quite a few people who pray night and day for financial breakthrough but don't work. It is an irresponsible act not to have something doing that translates into wealth. Don't excuse yourself with the unemployment rate in the nation. As a child of God, you are different. If there is no job, create one. You have God's ability at work in you. His wisdom has become your wisdom.

Even if it is not your dream job, start from somewhere. Do not despise the days of little beginning. Apply all the financial principles you are acquainted with such as tithing, quality offerings and seed sowing. Then find something to do if you don't have one yet. The Scripture says, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest". (Ecclesiates 9:10).

There is a place of hard work if you want to experience breakthrough in life. There is no demon from the pit of hell that can stop a hard working child of God. The book of proverb says, "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men". (Proverbs 22:29). Don't be a slothful believer. Some of the challenges people face in life is hinged on laziness. As much as it is important you pray, also work hard and give according to kingdom financial principles. As you do, God will certainly bless the works of your hands and take you to an enviable height in the name of Jesus.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: I thank you father for the wisdom to excel in life. I cannot be stranded in life. I am therefore full of wisdom as to what to do that should translate into wealth. I thank you for blessing the works of my hands in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God is taking you to a place where you will lack nothing good in the name of Jesus. You will flourish like the palm tree in the name of Jesus. Whatsoever you lay your hands on shall prosper in the name of Jesus. He will crown you with tender mercies and loving kindness in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

How to Fight Spiritual Warfare - 25.

"Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me". (Psalms 50:14-15).

One of the reasons some Christians face hindrances in life is as a result of unpaid vows. Vows are usually vocal pledges made to give something to God or act in a particular manner if you receive one favour or the other from him. The Saints of old do not toy with vows for they know the spiritual implications.

The opening text links vow payment to prayers. It is much easier for those who pay their vows to receive answers to their prayers or breakthrough in their spiritual warfare. These are so many who are often engaged in spiritual warfare but never seems to win. One of the hindrances could be an unpaid vows.

Today, it is not uncommon to see professing believers who play light on their vows or pledges made to God. They are usually amongst the first set of people to make pledges whenever fund is raised in their local church but hardly redeem them. This attitude can bring about hindrances in their lives and could even lead to untimely deaths.

Hannah is an example of a woman who made a vow to God and fulfilled it. She said, "...O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head". (1st Samuel 1:11).

Hannah received her miracle child, named Samuel which she gave unto the Lord in fulfillment of her vow after she weaned him. She conceived again and gave birth to five babies at the same time which in the Bible days was a record breaker - 1st Samuel 2:21. This is the miracle that came out of the vow she performed unto God.

Make effort to redeem every vow you make to God. The Scripture says, "When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay". (Ecclesiates 5:4-5). We will throw more light on this tomorrow.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Merciful and faithful God, I thank you for your faithfulness to all generations. As I pay my vows or pledges to you, I am confident you will open more doors of favour for me in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: You will experience breakthroughs that will make the headlines in the name of Jesus. The Lord will give you rest from all your struggles in the name of Jesus. All those who are arrayed against you will be put to shame in the name of Jesus. The Lord will fulfill the good pleasure of his will in your life in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me". (Psalms 50:14-15).

We introduced the subject of vows and the need to redeem it yesterday as a prerequisite to receiving favour and breakthrough in your spiritual warfare. Today, we will look at a few more examples of vows in the Bible days and draw some lessons out of it.

One interesting vow was that made by Jephthah was the judge of Israel at the time. "And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands, Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD'S, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering". (Judges 11:30-31).

He went to the war and conquered. And when he returned to his house, "...his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter. And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back". (Judges 11:34-35).

Jephtha later offered his daughter as a burnt sacrifice unto the Lord because of the vow he made. This is the extent to which the Saints of old value their vows and honour it. But today, it's a different ball game. People make and break their vows at will. And when the storms of life comes, they begin to run from crusade to crusade seeking for miracles. Ananias and Sapphira his wife made a vow to God to sell a plot of land and give the money for benevolence. They broke their vows by bringing part of the money and it cost both of them their lives.

Don't joke with the vows you make to God. It is a snare and a blessing blocker. Make effort to redeem your vows and pledges and watch how God will divinely intervene in your life.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Lord, I thank you for every opportunity to serve you. I ask for your supernatural provision and grace to redeem my vows and pledges in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: Everything is turning around for your good in the name of Jesus. You are delivered from every hereditary curse in the name of Jesus. Oppression of all forms are far from you in the name of Jesus. You will see the goodness of the Lord in this world in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

How to Fight Spiritual Warfare - 27.

"For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me". (Job 3:25).

Job went through one of the worst trials recorded in the Bible. In one day, he lost virtually all he had and his children also. The opening text however revealed what opened the door for the attack. It was fear. Whenever you allow fear get a hold of you, the devil takes advantage of it and strikes.

So, if you must win in your spiritual warfare, you must deal with the issue of fear. Fear is an expression of faith in the ability of the enemy. It is just the opposite of having faith. It is therefore also an expression of lack of faith in God. But the Scripture says, "...God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". (2nd Timothy 1:7).

Faith attracts God's divine intervention while fear gives Satan access to oppress you. All over the pages of the Bible, we are admonished not to be afraid. Fear is so terrible that it even kills. There is the story of a woman who died instantly when she witnessed her husband's arrest for a murder case.

Our Lord Jesus told his disciples, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me". (John 14:1). You can't be seeking for divine intervention and walk in fear at the same time. Absolute faith in God drives away fear. Fear is usually the result of focusing on the storms of life.

Here is a beautiful story that clearly illustrates the danger of fear. The disciples of Jesus saw Jesus walking on water in the early hours of the morning. They became afraid thinking it was a ghost. But Peter requested he should ask him to come if he is really Jesus. And Jesus consented. So, Peter stepped out and began to walk on water. "But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.". (Matthew 14:30).

This is what fear does. As soon as Peter took his attention away from Jesus and focused on the storms, he began to sink. Get rid of fear in your life. Resist fear and it will flee from you. Don't be afraid of what tomorrow may bring. "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it". (1st Thessalonians 5:24).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: I resist fear in the name of Jesus. Father, I have confidence that you will see me through my trying moments in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: The favour of God will surround you like a shield in the name of Jesus. The Lord will be your glory and the lifter of your head in the name of Jesus. You are on top list to be favored by God. Help is coming your way in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord". (1st Corinthians 15:58).

The ultimate goal of Satan is to get you distracted from serving God through the trials he brings your way. As you engage in spiritual warfare, don't let it affect your commitment to God. It is part of the fight of faith to stay focused.

Besides, if you allow it to distract you from your commitment, you might get out of favour with God which invariably will affect your victory. For instance, you can't be an employee of a company and stop work simply because there is a delay in salary payment. You certainly won't be paid when the salary is ready as you took a rash decision which worked against you.

The storms of life will always come. It is your responsibility to weather the storm so you can stay focused. God has a purpose for your life and this purpose is more important than your challenges. I have seen workers who are owed months of salary still go to work and discharge their duties diligently expecting to be paid in due course. But quite a few of God's children withdraw their commitment to God just because there is a delay in the manifestation of their miracles.

Don't give up on God. He is a good God and he is faithful to his promises. Serve him with undivided attention even in the midst of the storms. He will certainly make all things beautiful at the right moment.

Prayer and Confession of faith. Heavenly father, I worship you in the beauty of holiness. I am resolved to serve you no matter the situation I am faced with. I ask that you strengthen me by your spirit in my inner man to do your will at all times in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: In the same way Noah was lifted up by the flood that destroyed the world, I see God lifting you up in this perilous time in the name of Jesus. The God who shut the mouth of the lions where Daniel was thrown in will shut the mouth of your enemies in the name of Jesus. "That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises". (Hebrews 6:12).

Many a time, we experience delays in the manifestation of our expectations. At such time, we are either tempted to give up or compromise our faith. This act prompted by impatient often ends in regret. It is therefore important you back up your faith with the virtue of patient if you want to win your spiritual battles.

Job went through one of the worst trials on record in the Bible days. In one day, he lost virtually all he had including his ten children through mysterious circumstances. In the midst of it all, he kept his faith in God. Very few persons will pass through what Job went through without contemplating suicide.

Just as Job was trying to get over the disasters that befell him, the devil struck again. This time, it was his health. He was struck with sore boils from sole of his feet to the crown of his head. The sight was so disgusting that wife suggested he should curse God and die. Job however held on to God. Even when his three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar went to comfort him, "...[they] knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven. So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great". (Job 2:12-13).

In spite of his condition, Job kept trusting God and this was revealed in certain statements he made. He said, "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth". (Job 19:25). He also said, "...all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come". (Job 14:14). And his change did come. "[For] the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before". (Job 42:10).

It doesn't matter what you are going through right now, if you can hold on a little longer, your change will definitely come. "[For] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it". (1st Corinthians 10:13).

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Merciful and faithful God, I thank you in spite of what I am going through. I have full assurance that my change will come. If you did it for Job and countless others, I know you will do it for me in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: The God that favoured Esther who was chosen to be queen amongst many young ladies even in a strange land will favour you today in the name of Jesus. The wisdom of God is at work in you to do uncommon things in the name of Jesus. He will make your name great and give you distinguished preeminence amongst your companions in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you". (Luke 10:19).

I will like to end this devotional study on how to fight spiritual warfare by reminding us of the authority that has been delegated to the Church. The word power in the opening text actually mean authority. Authority is delegated power. There are times you don't have to cry to God for help. What you do on such instances is to exercise your authority.

Some of the challenges we face in life are caused by demons. For instance, a landlord who you had a good time with the previous day wakes up the next morning and gives you a quit notice. You should know that he is influenced by a demon. All you need to do is address the spirit behind his action and you will be surprised he will even deny he didn't quit you.

On an occasion in the Bible, Peter revealed who Jesus was by the Spirit of God. Not too long after that, he made a comment and Jesus said, "...Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men". (Matthew 16:23). He wasn't calling Peter Satan but he knew Peter was influenced by Satan to make the remark he made.

There are times you might notice an unusual confusion in your relationship with your spouse and even in your home. Take authority over that spirit of confusion and every squabble will cease.

Don't give the devil a foothold in your life. Don't pet sickness. If you notice the slightest symptom of any ailment in your body, rebuke it immediately. You have the authority to lay hands on the sick, even your sick body and receive healing.

Remember that the battle has been fought and won by our Lord Jesus over 2,000 years ago. Don't listen to the lies of the devil and don't let the situation you are faced with right now make you think otherwise. "...If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?". (Romans 8:31-32). Stand your ground on God's word and be the champion he has made you to be. "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us". (Romans 8:37).

Prayer and Confession of faith. Dear father, I thank you for the truth of your word which I hinge my faith on. I also thank you for the authority I have in Christ Jesus. I take advantage of it and stand my ground against every evil schemes of darkness in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: God is lifting you from being a borrower to a lender in the name of Jesus. Your status will change from an employee to an employer in the name of Jesus. You will go in and out and find pastures. Your bank account will go from zero to billions in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

How to Receive and Retain Your Healing - 1..

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed". (Isaiah 53:5).

It is an understatement to say that people are faced with one form of health challenge or the other. There are medical personnel in various health centers that are making frantic efforts to provide cures for different kinds of diseases afflicting man. However, there are certain diseases that have defied medical cures and their are hurts that laboratory test cannot see. Sickness is actually a spiritual condition that manifest itself as disease in our bodies. The best cure is therefore spiritual and this will form the basis of our discussion in the next few days.

It is not the will of God that anyone should be sick. Hence the Scripture says, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth". (3rd John 2). Sickness was never part of God's creation. It came as a result of the fall of man. God in his infinite mercies has however provided divine healing for us in Christ Jesus.

Before we begin to examine the different ways you can receive your healing and retain it, let us look the healing covenants God had with the Jews under the first covenant. It should be noted that before the Law of Moses was given, the Jews enjoyed divine health. At that time, they were under Abrahamic covenant. The psalmist testified that when they left Egypt, "...there was not one feeble [or sick] person among their tribes". (Psalms 105:37).

In addition, God entered a covenant of divine healing with them which reads, "And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee". (Exodus 15:26).

It is therefore God's will to heal you if you are sick. Above all, he wants you to enjoy divine health 247. Healing can be received in different ways which will be discussed as well progress with this study.

Prayer and Confession of Faith. Dear heavenly father, I am grateful for making provision for my well being in Christ Jesus. I therefore declare that divine health is mine in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: The uncommon favour that followed Joseph wherever he went is at work in your life in the name of Jesus. The God who protected David from the hands of King Saul will deliver you from the hands of wicked and unreasonable men and women in the name of Jesus. If you obey and serve him, you will spend your days in prosperity, and your years in pleasures in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

How to Receive and Retain Your Healing - 2.

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed". (Isaiah 53:5).

Yesterday, we established the fact healing is a spiritual condition that manifest itself as a disease in our flesh. The best cure is therefore spiritual. In addition, we said it is the will of God to heal you. The Jews enjoyed divine health when they were under Abrahamic covenant. God's willingness to ensure they stay in health was indicated by the first healing covenant God entered with the Jews.

After the Law of Moses was given, the Jews came under affliction as they couldn't keep the law. This prompted God to enter into a second covenant of healing which reads, "And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee". (Exodus 23:25). This covenant differs from the first covenant. The first says, I will not permit any disease to come near you. The second says, I will take it away from you. So, God can keep you in health and he can also heal you if you fall sick.

The earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus was characterized by uncommon healings and miracles that is unmatched in history. This also points to the fact that God wants you well. The Scripture says, "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people". (Matthew 4:23). Notice the phrase, 'all manner'. This means that no case is hopeless. There is no impossibility with God and your case will not be an exception. Our Lord Jesus is still in the business of healing. "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever". (Hebrews 13:cool.

Prayer and Confession of Faith: Merciful and gracious God, I thank you for the work of redemption you wrought through Jesus that includes healing. I therefore declare that I am healed of every infirmity in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Prophecies: It is well with all that concerns you in the name of Jesus. The son of wickedness shall not afflict you in the name of Jesus. You are delivered from every former of affliction in the name of Jesus. The Lord is your keeper and he will not sleep nor slumber in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
