GADDAFI once told the Nigerian and British governments to divide Nigeria into two, so that the Hausa/Fulani (Moslems), Yoruba (Christians) and Biafrans/Igbo, can live as neighbouring countries.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally.

11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation, the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gave birth to a child under Gaddafi, received US $5,000 as child benefit upfront.

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree.

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man- Made River Project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

But he knew staying there was the only way to keep / put things together..

Gaddafi, Abidine Ben Ali, Hosni Mubarak etc were all labelled as "dictators" but they had/developed good economic plans for their countries. They also kept tabs on Islamic radicals. Until Obama/Hilary felt it was time... Look at those places now, see as ISIS dey operate, esp Libya.

I love Ghaddafi and his administrative prowess, however in trying to save his country from the west, he should have stepped aside for the sake of it and govern the country from behind.

The killing of Gaddafi is a clear evidence we are still in slavery in Africa. Everything became clear to me the moment Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, were insulated from the Arab spring by the USA and Britain.

It's time Africans wake up and realize slavery is still going on today, just that it's a different type of slavery.

To think that 6 years after Libyans have not known peace. And the country is in disarray.

Gaddafi is a hero all African leaders ought to emulate.

He was a dictator and I guess the 'trade off' was security and relatively decent standards of living. It was bad before but they're even worse now. This is one of the problems with going to war without post war strategy, now Libya is in shambles and has become just another breeding ground for terrorists
