so how come you are paying tithes to your pastor who isn't a Jew or a levite.

what about burnt sacrifice, the Jews do not sacrifice today, so why keep tithe and then you do not keep burnt sacrifices.

the Malachi you quote did it say you should give money, did it not say foodstuffs. and did it not say that if you have money you should convert it to foodstuffs?

some people will read a verse in the Bible that is very clear but when a pastor comes and tells them that it means something totally different because of a “revelation he received from God”, they instantly believe him without questions.


In the Bible, Apostle Paul actually commended the Berean Christians for searching the scriptures to ensure that what he preached was actually true (Acts 17:11: “Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true”).


If Apostle Paul commended the Bereans for verifying his message, then it is only right for Christians today to do the same.


Another problem I have noticed with some Nigerian Christians is that they don’t study the Bible for themselves; they focus only on the passages from the pastor’s sermon.

you are telling me to go and read the Bible when it's you who isn't reading your Bible. The Mosaic Law is gone. Jesus never collected tithe, Paul or Peter never collected tithe after Jesus' death. why is your pastor collecting tithe that was meant for Levites. what mystery are you telling me to Go look at Christianity is not a mystery. Christianity is not religion.

you've not answered my question, why don't Jews(the real followers of the Mosaic Law) pay tithe?

Romans 6vs14 tells us that the Christian is not under the law. and Psalm147vs19-20 and Malachi 4vs4 tell us that the law was given to jews not outsiders so how come the same Jews do not pay tithe to their rabbi in their meetings?

op are you saying since God called Abraham and use him and according to scripture he paid tithe... are you now saying drinking alcohol is right since it was the same God that called Noah.so my question is this since Noah was a drunker and God use him should Christian emulate Noah too?
