Today, we continue on the characteristics of true sheep:

(d) The sheep come to church with their cutlery: their books, pens and Bibles. They don't place a time restriction on their shepherd. In fact, the shepherd has to stop them so that they do not over-eat. But when somebody does not want to eat, he is not a true sheep. God told Elijah, “Eat for the journey is long(2 Kings 19:7).” Many saints love short sermons; their minds drift during the sermon, they forget their Bible at home or bring only a tiny New Testament Bible to church and complain. Do you exhibit any of these characteristics? If yes, it is time to change.

Writing makes an exact man and the faintest pen is better than the sharpest mind. The book of revelation would have been lost if John the beloved did not write down the things that God was showing him.

(e) The sheep produce sheep: A true sheep will have a track record of bringing other people to church. Otherwise, they are not committed to the Church and may only be interested in taking from the Church. Shepherds feed green pasture to the sheep for growth, but the sheep are to birth forth other sheep. The fastest way to kill a sheepfold is by refusing to bring more sheep to the sheepfold. Addition through salvation is the growth process, not just biological addition of new children. Every true sheep has the responsibility to invite other believers to church and disciple them as the Lord commanded in Matthew 28:19-20.

PRAYER: Lord, grant me boldness and utterance to be able to witness and lead others to the Lord in Jesus’ name. Amen.
