Thanks youngies and cutie!It's actually refreshing to be able to swap and read truly informing and educative proverbs with you.Anyways my little confession is that i'm not Igbo though i have chased and lusted after many a Ada,Nkechi,Chinwe who all have painstakingly taught me a little Igbo here and there.Anyways i hope this little burden that has finally come off my chest would not lead to my sanction on this thread!
However for you youngies
oke aha a na-etu dibia na akari ihe o na-agbata na afa -the ostentatious praise names with which the native doctor is eulogized are greater than the compensation he receives from his divination
And cutie~

onye bu ehi n’isi anaghi eji ukwu achu ukpara -a person carrying an elephant on his head does not pursue grasshoppers with his feet.

Ele be mmanwu, ewe le be onye n'eti ya eti - When you see what the masquerade is doing, then you begin to ask who is behind the mask!

Agadi nwanyi kaba nka, odi ka ejighi aku n'uya - When a woman begin to age, it begins to look as if she was married with wealth!

Ele be onu okenye, odi ka ojighi nu ala - When you look at the mouth of an elder, it looks as if he/she didn't use the same mouth to drink from the mother's breasts.

Egbe bere ugo bere, nke si ibe ya ebela nku kwapu ya - let the hawk perch and eagle also, if any says the other should not perch, let the wing break apart!

a na achu aja, ipke ana ama ndi ( as we sacrifice to the gods, the become guilty, or something like that anyway. you guys know what i mean. very difficult to translate some of these proverbs but unu na eme ofuma)

ndi igbo si na anaghi eji ihe eji agba  na nti agba na anya.( you do not wear what is meant for the ears like an earring, in the eyes) if you disagree try it lol
