GREAT BRITAIN!!!
This was the name of the place everyone loved to come to (ans still some will do anything to come to).
However, its not GREAT again. Its now called BRITAIN, what happened to the GREAT.
Well, what I think is the people of the country thought they have arrived and didn't need anyone's help again.
The kids stopped pursuiting higher education and prefer to live on government benefits. Moral values went to the dogs and crime in the streets increase.
What is the way out now? Have they learnt their lessons,

I feel you bro. Some parts of the country eg newham, methy tydfyl, handsworth in bham, parts of manchester and liverpool, etc makes you wonder if you are in a developed world or in ajegunle.

I lived in Birmingham for about 6 years and noticed that the parts you mentioned are run down areas. Sorry to use that word.

The 'whites' live in posh, quiet and very green areas like Solihull, Knowles, Sutton Coldfield etc.

But even handsworth has some nice places and cannot in the real sense be called a ghetto according to the dictionary meaning of the word.

For example they still have running water, 24*7 electric, proper drainage etc.

However we all agree that the great British Empire is no more.

They are currently struggling to survive.

I agree some parts of Handsworth are not that bad. And basic amenities remain as per uk standards. Why they resemble third world countries include levels of cleanliness, crime rate, juvenile deliquencies, standards of health facilities, shops, schools, etc. I have noticed that in virtually any big cities in the uk, there are deep social divisions, as per the examples you gave above.

As bad as it may seem and as many bnp members they may be in england,england is still the most civilize country in the world,to a great extent,a free country, more free than america,if i may say so.

It is country foreigners can melt into without qualms,there is no country in world to compare with england not even holland.
