i have been really touched to see this and while scammers do abound in nigeria, so does poverty and a story as strange as his is an everyday occurrence in our country. i only hope that the poster will take advantage of the deliverance God has sent him. helping people out in this way is not sustainable though, i mean if everyone came here begging for help would you be able to help each time? perhaps the guy should be made to pay back the money when he can. i suppose it wouldnt be too outlandish an idea to set up a fund specially for this sort of thing? would be very complicated to maintain but it is doable if you guys are really interested. what benefit are great riches when another lives in greater squalor? this is a chance to do something worthwhile and i am greatly inspired to see that the beautiful ones have indeed been born.

This is a really sorry story. I can't say I feel your pain or know how you feel, because life situations differ. But being in a rather similar condition, though not orphaned or a graduate, I'd like to tell you to get closer to God - pray to him in the way you can, try avoid sins. Try to be positive always about your future, though sometimes that may seem hard, but still make the effort.

As you noted that you have one 10k teaching job, I must concede that that is a meagre sum to live on, keep managing that for the mean time. And try see what additional skills you can attain like computing skills, professional (non-university) courses and so on to use as alternative ways of getting by while you continue looking for your dream job.

May God remember you and bless you. May He keep from all that is bad. Goodluck to you.

Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by Nobody: 5:10pm On May 21, 2010
So what's going on? Has someone verified his credentials and qualifications?

@Aisha just out of curiousity! What happened with Joshua? Is he okay now?
Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by KGNAIRA: 5:32pm On May 21, 2010
@ Poster, I initial thought you had genuine needs. But i'm starting to have doubts for obvious reasons.

A lot of questions have been asked, A lot of suggestions have been made for which if you provided answers, you would have probarbly landed yourself a better and more paying job.

It is also been speculated that you were banned as you refused to respond. You simply came after several hours and say you are not a scam.

"It is not enough to say you are not a SCAM" Prove it beyond reasonable doubt and you will land yourself a good job.

Until this guy anwers the questions posed to him, I want to advice Everyone to thread causciously.
Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by Nobody: 5:50pm On May 21, 2010
I haven't heard from the chap. I'm convinced he ain't serious. I'm no longer interested in helping.
I expected he will always try to keep in touch with the progress of the thread considering the responses people have been making.

The slot that was allocated to me as a shareholder in the company was what i wanted to offer him. Imagine, and i have a cousin who has been asking for a job. I just was moved by his pathetic situation.

PLS, I HAVE OFFERED A JOB, NOBODY SHOULD SEND MONEY> I GAVE HIM MY EMAIL ADDY TO SEND HIS CREDENTIALS AND HE IS SHYING AWAY.
BEWARE OF THIS DUDE.

Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by squad1: 6:06pm On May 21, 2010
It is very pathetic if he is lying.

@All
I totally agree with Aqva, FOR NOW nobody should try to do anything until it is confirmed he is saying the truth. I am staying in Abuja, i had the intention of helping him in my own little way in case he comes here. Some people can be so, (I reserve my comment for now)

it is now clear to me that all those who are sympathizing with the poster over his incredible cork and bull story collaborated with him and fabricated this calculated ideology just to receive cash and other relieve materials from nairalanders and thereafter; share it among themselves.

but let me sound a note of warning here; the consequences of this planned story will be devastating when the trumpet finally sounds- all those involve must be ready to dance to the tone of the music.

the poster made mentioned that he is from Rivers state. I am also from Rivers state, currently living and working there. Let the poster tell us which part of the State he comes from, where all these things took place in Rivers state, where he lives in Rivers state. Thereafter, i will find out and report back to nairalanders.

But he has refused to do this.

@odereghi, do you have any proof to support your statement that the peoplesympathizing & trying to help are scammers? If i can remember clearly the poster asked for a job,
generous people like:-

Chiejik - offered employment
Bim4u & Radiant -  offered to pay his rent
Aqva -  offered employment
Aisha offered her services to look for apartment and help him settle down
and others have offered different ways of assisting.

So Mr Odereghi pls tell me how are these generous people scammers? Just because you have asked the poster some questions and he hasnt gotten back to you doesnt mean that the people trying to help him are scammers. Please if you havent got proof to back up your accusation I suggest you refrain from name calling.

Thanks

Am Really pissed off with the poster   angry angry angry angry angry angry

@ OP
If you're really serious why haven't sent your c.v.

It woul be really disappointing if it's not genuine and to help other's in dire need would be very difficult.

@Aqua let's give him the benefit of doubt and hopefully he wll send his c.v soon.

Why are u doin dis, i mean playing wit people's mind,do u tink its easy to help sm1? u r kiling ur self u ask 4 hlp, it came and u turn ur back on it.if u are genuine prove it thats all.@ aisha2, and others that offered to help God bless you all a thousand million billion in fact zillion times. Dont be discouraged. God loves a cheerful giver. menek prove urself.
Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by odereghi(m): 7:40pm On May 21, 2010
@Igwe; i will not remove any portion of my post whatsoever.

Mr Bim4u; whether proof or prove, all i know is that the poster's story is not real. i am most concerned about this whole thing because the poster claim to come from the same state of origin with me.

Therefore, the story he posted is a total misrepresentation of my state of origin at a national level.

The poster through his story is putting the good name of my state at stake.

He should therefore respond to my questions and stop running away from them, period!

All you that want to help this guy, abi una dey craze? the post sounds 419,
1, i would ask,you are poor and without money but got internet access? grin

2,if you looking for money, spend you time on the internet and get legal runs not yahoo that you are practising with nigerians on NL

3,As for all those willing to help, please keep your money and whenever you go to Nigeria, please just go for a work in a busy area and pick a random person to help, that really needs help not all this fakers online.

bye

@ odereghi
Why does everything have to turn to ethnicity
He's an indivdual n should be treated as such
I offered becos he is an individual that needed help not becos he was from your state as i can't be bothered where he's from.
Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by tundejayz: 8:03pm On May 21, 2010
leave this guy alone he is not scam, only obasanjo is scam
Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by SLIGHT(m): 8:14pm On May 21, 2010
MENEK what's with u? Ur silence has made peeps like odereghi to start accusing aisha of collaborating with others to scam Nlers! Just because they offered a helping hand.Huhhhh,so much for being generous
Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by Nobody: 8:25pm On May 21, 2010
I withdraw my offer, OP is an id.iot.
I remember a guy who just finished serving some years ago. I met him at a car wash in Lagos. He was a graduate, i just mentioned my office then was recruiting in Abuja and mentioned my name while having a conversation on the phone.

This guy traced me and i found him kneeling on the floor begging and reminding me of how we met in a car wash in Lag.

I was so touched by his determination that i allowed him live with me while looking for an opening. Today the man is an Asst manager in an Abj company.
This foo.ool is here wasting our time. aisha2, i here by withdraw my offer. I'd give it to my cousin. i actually wanted to look for something better for him. Let him start with that.
Re: My Greatest Challenge As An Orphan by Igwe9(m): 8:27pm On May 21, 2010
@odereghi
The only reason you won't do that is because we are on the internet, else how could you call us fraudsters just because we showed sympathy to a fellow whose story is touching. i wouldn't call you names either as I have nothing to gain by so doing.
