Good observation especially on Leon Balogun. If I were the coach, Awaziem should take the place of Balogun, Emeruo replaces Idowu while Ebuehi for Shehu. Mikel must assume the role of defensive midfielder while Musa goes to the left wing leaving Iwobi as attacking midfielder. Simy should take the place of Ighalo and Ogu for Ndidi.

Why not target the ball and be the first to it?

When you focus too much on the opponent you are reacting to everything but if you get to the ball fisrt then you can head the ball out of danger before your opponent does anything with it

Look at Portugal, Ronaldo who is their best player in heading the ball defends the first post to make sure he heads the ball out of danger first

Based on my observations, I believe A 3-5-2 would be the most compact, most balanced, highly effective system based on our strength...the midfield (We have way too many midfielders in the team). Today's game is going to be very physical and we need our fastest,strongest, tallest players.
Tyronne should replace Shehu due to height and speed. Shehu is defensively solid, but poor offensively.
It's going to be end to end stuff, and has the potential of being one of the most exciting games in the WC.
We just need to cluster the midfield and I like how you have drawn up those triangle clusters.
Still not sure Mikel should be high up maybe a deep lying playmaker, but like you said who will replace him?

Those are the kind of things you say when you dont follow football. From the onset Argentina was the only team I was confident Nigeria could beat given that they currently have a weak squad with a dull midfield and fragile defence. I was also worried about Croatia because they have world class players in their midfield.

My prediction was always draw with Croatia and Iceland, beat Argentina.
