Digressing a little, I can see a lot of angst about the role of Christianity in society and nation building, particularly Nigeria and I must admit it is very naive

To start with. People are increasingly turning to God because the systems operating this nation has failed and not because Christians or Christianity is responsible for Nigeria's backwardness. Africans were no better before the gospel came to our shores. Nigeria is not exclusively a Christian state, it is secular so how can it be exclusively blamed for the nation's fortunes and finally amongst the world's religions Christianity is the most modern, dynamic and observant of civilised practices.

Of course due its size and diversity the Christian faith will have many angles, practices and practitioners that are untennable and perhaps unsavoury to some but to the beat of my knowledge Christianity and Christians have been responsible for some of the greatest advances in science, technology and the arts. The great United States of America was founded on solid Christian principles and its growth, progress and development couldn't have come without hardwork but other countries work hard as well but are not as successful.

What I say in a nutshell is that. Nowhere in the Bible is indolence and sloth encouraged as a way of life. Similarly, nowhere in the Bible is progress ever encouraged without God as the centre, focus and fulcrum.

Those who have this balanced view are exceptional hard workers. I for instance believe exceptionally in God Almighty as the reason for my life and the purpose for my achievements, consequently I work day in day out. Since I left paid employment I have no holidays. I work virtualky 18/7 and only take time off when exhausted. When you see other men of faith and what they do with their time and still manage to live for God, then you realise the error in the presumption that those who preach the gospel are idle and have nothing else doing and nothing to contribute to social society

Look at Bishop Oyedepo for instance ans his commitment to education. Can you say those are the works of idle hands or retrogressive thinking. Is he not positively impacting the educational landscape in Nigeria. And he could do more in other fields of industry but for the statutes that limit what churches can do

If a man is lazy mentally or physically, it is not on the back of Christianity. That is an inate characteristic that even the scriptures frown at. Christianity is not responsible for tje country's backwardness. You know why we remain undeveloped but you just choose to find a scapegoat elsewhere.

With this your story i want to believe you want to christainize Nigeria. They say no preaching in buses in ghana how does that affect u. U come dey write one useless article about backwardness in Nigeria bringing unrelevant story
