Great to hear this and sure this would go a long way at dousing the great rush to leave home as people in foreign lands still look forward to a newer life back home

Home is where the heart is at.
Home is where you make it.
I'm in the US and this is my home. I love it here,
If I don't ever go back to Naija, I really wouldn't give a F!

A few things need to be correct before I can make Naija home.
decent roads, safety, constant supply of clean water, constant supply of electric, then internet connection.

That's it, some people are managing, good for them, I don't want to manage.
Some people are going to say, come back and implement the change, I'm not a politician or have any interests in politics or working on things like that.

Yup, Naija is my roots, but it's not my home anymore!

To many pple Nigeria is just an origin and not HOME
Re: No Place Like Home? by femmy2010(m): 8:20pm On Jun 09, 2010
Nigeria is what i had in mind when i refereed to the term home,Might sound a bit ambiguous before but i am sure given a definite meaning of home has greatly cleared the ambiguity.

Well am never coming home, I will remain here in the US until 9ja is fixed or not. But meanwhile check www.touristvisas.info
Re: No Place Like Home? by femmy2010(m): 10:14am On Jun 12, 2010
You will remain There until Naija is fixed?
I remember when i was about 5-7 year old i have been hearing 9ja is bad etc .So if you are waiting till when it would be good you might end of staying forever in these UN-bad western worlds.
Bad as 9ja might be it is still sweet and i love her.

I really get amused when some people on NL claim Nigeria is NOT home.
It is Logical that your Home is where your Heart is. If it is not Nigeria then i wonder what they do on Nairaland !. ( Don't get me wrong there are other nationals here on NL too, but the tone of their post will suggest that they are just "birds of the passage"wink

However, if someone is showing emotions ( anger, excitement, etc) when some topical issues ( eg. Security, Soccer, roads , health care) are discussed ; then your Heart is actually in Nigeria.

No doubt, a large percentage of Nigerians have been disappointed over the decades; we then tend to clear out Nigeria out of our minds but i tell you in the far corner of our heart we know where Home is

I can't imagine myself spending so much time on Liberian Bloggs discussing passionately like i do here
Re: No Place Like Home? by femmy2010(m): 10:35am On Jun 12, 2010
Wisely said sir,
Home is not Nigeria and yet we want to know about the many happenings back here via the ever highly educative NL.
Nigeria has let us down but it wont be fair for us to let her down as there still remains hope for her if only we learn to believe in her again.
Re: No Place Like Home? by Fhemmmy: 6:08pm On Jun 12, 2010
Nigeria is a great nation, just need to find a way to chose a good leader and do away with all the politics of nonsense.
But i think we need to let go of the thought that Nigeria will not be good again, Nigeria will rise and be good, might not even be in our own time, but will surely be.
Nigeria is a place where you can enjoy your money and have real fun.
Re: No Place Like Home? by femmy2010(m): 6:51pm On Jun 12, 2010
Very true.It might not be our Generation and it would be great for the future generation to know that those gone did not give up on her.

Nice to fight the battle if you know that those you are fighting for cares
Re: No Place Like Home? by femmy2010(m): 2:42pm On Jun 14, 2010
A time we fight a battle for these that do not care but we are sure that generations unborn would appreciate our sacrifice.
