I only pity soldiers in the northeast from southern origin, as usual northern leaders and commoners would be silent. There was heavy massacre in sokoto for two days straight no northern leader made any statement. As a matter of fact they were all concerned with ekiti elections

No Sir, don't pity any soldier. Were they not among the soldiers sent to molest Nnamdi KANU? Were they not the ones that bombed Numan villages for Fulani? The pilot (captain) is a southern. The weak military had to take cover under civilian protection at Geidam. You see karma? Flexing muscles with civilians in Ekiti.

Wonderful! Saint Buhari provided world class arms for them. WEAK, WEAK WEAK MILITARY.

WE ARE AT THE MERCY OF GOD and not under the protection of the military.

I implore you all to ask yourselves...how is it that each time Boko Haram is dealt with, there is a few months hiatus, then they bounce back, often in such spectacular fashion worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster movie. We will be doing ourselves a major disservice by pretending the Nigerian Army hasn't made major gains and stride, considering it practically had to be re restructured. You all sit in your rooms spewing out crap in a predictive manner, lambasting the men and women in the front.

Ask yourselves..how is it Boko Haram bounces back each time? They no longer even have a major stronghold. Where re the weapons coming from? Hiw do they get real time intelligence on the movement of Nigerian troops? There are six drone bases in the region....could it be there are external players whi stand to gain from a Nigeria in continuous chaos? There is practically a civil war brewing in Cameroon now, where a murderous dictators is killing women and children, yet mysteriously the world is silent.

What has the world focused on for the last two months? Its not the human rights violations and killings in Cameroon. Nope.....its Nigeria. Nigerian soldiers rapeing thousands Boko Haram captives, which is borderline insane. Now suddenly Boko Haram is BACK. And we Nigerians, as usual in a predictive manner go gun blazing with this sick self hating stupidity. You arm chair generals spewing crap think war is a video game. You are the critical elements the powers that be need to push their agenda of a Nigeria ungovernable. You dont think. Where are the weapons coming from? How come the rate of terrorism increases anywhere the United States behin building drone bases. You think these Boko Haram guys are clairvoyant? They just know where to attack at the rjght time with the right number of men?

The summary of the matter is that:
NE NIGERIA is the next Libya in the making.
The oil in the Chad basin is not for us(Nigeria)
Our defense intelligence is rather reactive than proactive.

All them "diplomats" in NIA are not patriotic but self serving. One other thing, you made mention of Arm chair generals it will interest you to know that most of them are verrrrrrrry patriotic but weren't given the chance to prove themselves. In my days I participated in many military screening exercises so I know.

Let's hope for the best, but hope alone can't get things done.

A personal one, my close friend is an LT from SSC yr 014. Drafted to the sappers, told him since he's a demo it will make sense after his Counter Force training he should head SS for amphibious training to be able to do some good damage. My paddy laugh say im salary na to start life first that Nigeria should defend itself. He's cooling off in one highway sector. Most of these training are just for the ribbon, no one wants to fight. I hope its Buhari's brothers that are affected because I can't understand why he will be releasing some captured bokoharam members because he felt they are repentant.
To add salt to injury he is adding them to the armed forces of Nigeria.

God will continue to punish them a hundred folds.

If this is true, the repercussion is huge;
It effectively means a huge stockpile of arms and ammunition are in the hands of Boko Haram as most military bases act as a store.
It means communities up and down the country are sitting duck to these marauds.
It means the country is effectively finished.

You are correct. It's deliberate. An average Northerner (military, paramilitary) is boko haram sympathetic.

If critically look at how Buhari handles boko haram you will agree with me.

Google his past comments on BH to confirm.

A battalion of almost 1000 soldiers defeated in 2hrs!

My brother, I just tire.

The news even said the aggressive enemy force was in the hundreds!!!!!

Hundreds against seven hundred, yet they retreated. Something isn't right.

Did our soldiers lack weapons and ammo/ Was there no air support?

Why would the commander order a retreat? Or is he a Boko-Haram apologist?

Should APC loose the presidential election and a probe is ordered into the defense budget, i won't be surprised if they discover that the looting of funds meant for weapons and ammo by top-ranking Generals also continued in the Buhari administration with somebody as ATM just like Sambo Dasuki

This is beyond shocking really. There's simply no excuse other than extreme cowardice and or sabotage/complicity.

Bros, you just echoed one of my sentiments earlier.

This news would warrant a Military Police investigation in a saner society. I mean, the enemy wasn't really numerically superior unless the news outlet was lying. The commander would've been stripped of his command and investigated.

It's either complicity, cowardice or his superiors failed him by not ensuring they had enough ammo

I am seriously pissed right now

Six ex soldiers from different divisions saved the American consulate in Libya

Six soldiers.

So these soldiers are being set up for a long ting because I see that these people benefiting from it are not ready for it to end.

Even a single platoon of regular soldiers with enough communications with headquarters and air-support would hold

I'm ashamed of our soldiers. The army needs a total revamp. From training, to kits to tactics.

All pot-belly fools parading themselves as commanders ought to be discharged. They are only interested in blowing convoys and harassing innocent civilians.

First we must learn not to always shift goal posts

Some people are saying U.S and maybe France are involved in BH operations

To me, that's laughable because currently the man in charge of the U.S doesn't seem to be interested in such frivolities

You can accuse him of a lot, but to sponsor terrorism in the third-world which he regards as shithole..... I guess not.

Our military are doing a fantastic job, but do they have the wherewithal? Most of them are not accessible to sophisticated weaponry

BH is a common enemy dat grew because of levity, and same levity is used to handle the herdsmen menace in the country

Internal forces know about BH no doubts

But to start blaming nations like France who also occasionally experience such attacks as in the case of Paris, U.S as in 9/11 and London amongst others is not just unfair, it is plain dumb.

Very pleased to see a young turk realising how important it is to forge a southern solidarity, which is a cause I've been campaigning for so long like a lone voice in the wilderness.

This whole Yoruba/Igbo cosmetic beef and mutual suspicion is doing us more harm than good. The North is a common threat and a deadly one at that, and as long as the South ignores this ominous truth and continues playing the apathetic ostrich, we shall all become cannon fodder for these blood-sucking beasts sooner than later. They're slowly advancing, BH on one flank, Herdsmen on the other. Already, they have boots on the ground all over the South, and they can easily overrun Lagos right now if their leaders give the orders. It seems like a joke now but wait let them finish annexing the Middle Belt...

The South has to shamelessly unite, pool resources together, and wage this war against a ruthless and covetous enemy. And the Middle Belt has to join us (because we share similar liberal heritage, tendencies, and way of life - not to mention a common enemy). The first step is to put our lives on the line to prevent Buhari from winning any polling booth anywhere in the South and the Middle Belt next year. It may seem like I'm talking politics rather than the issue on ground, but we must realise that this entire problem begins and ends with politics. After all, politics is war by other means, just as war is a continuation of politics (Clausewitz). Electing a certifiably liberal northerner in place of Buhari next year would at least slow down the Northern expansionist agenda and give us breathing space to strategize and plot the next move.

It is an existential threat, and the time to start challenging this threat is now. Tomorrow may be too late.

I have no facts, but extrapolating from events so far in Nigeria, my strong feeling is that some foreign force, either in the West or Islamic world is trying to destroy Nigeria through the combination of, tying the army down, turning Nigerians against one another and orchestrating a farmine. Right now they are at war with not only the Nigerian army, civil society online but with your Nigerian farmers.

....the idea that forces abroad may be working hard on orchestrating a farmine in Nigeria beggars belief. We live in a truly evil world... undecided

As an aside, I have this uncomfortable thought that some aid Agencies, ones established in your backyard, are powerful enough to feed conflict: the idea being that this huge, unwieldy machinery needs misery in order to generate finances to exist. It's as if they need to be relevant, so they facilitate misery in order to save you.And of course, the West love nothing better than if you are dependant on thire agencies through which you are greatful for their benevolence.

I'm a Nigerian, move among Nigerians, visit Nigeria often, travel around Nigeria and i don't recognize your Nigerians or those portrayed falsely online. In addition, for someone like me who has mixed with Africans in the West, that did not realize that i was Nigerian (what an eye-opener), I've come to appreciate that Nigerians are some of the best people in Africa - Good hearted, open, (very clued-on) and very helpful.

Nigerians abroad regularly help one another and other Africans but often are betrayed to authorities by other Africans - fact!
