From verse 22 to 28, Jesus gives more elaboration on the characteristics of the tribulation.

Now I want to show you something beginning from verse 29. From verse 29 we begin a whole new journey, it is very important for us to understand this place in order to see the evolution of prophecy.

Matthew 24:29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Beginning from verse 29, this is another dispensation of the prophecy, and this takes us to verse 34

This happened on the 21st of August 2017

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

This will happen as Jesus is returning, the moment,buttressing the point that they prophecy is laid out systematically not chronologically.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The trumpet will sound. This is the sound of thunder, it is not a trumpet. Thunder is the LORD's trumpet.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

This verse links this whole passage with the what is written in Genesis about the sun being given for signs and seasons Genesis 1:14

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Now take note of this, you do not need to bother about the other verses again but beginning from 29 when it says...Immediately after... this is when this reference begins

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

What generation?

The year of the eclipse will not run out till all things be fulfilled.
