I'm always puzzled when I read "The Sun newspaper online," particularly, the "Sun girl" section (where they post a girl's photo and statistics). Agreed that some of the girls are gorgeous, but 9 out of 10 always claim to be models. Even those that are 5"2 claim to be models. Do Kesse Jabari and co. put girls barely 5' tall on their runways in naija? By the way, I know we Africans don't over-emphasize the need for women to be thin, but c'mon, even the chubby girls always claim to be "models."
Plz, I just wanna know from those of u who are fashion savvy and are in tune with the modelling industry in naija if girls that I do see on the Sun's website are what walk the runways in naija.

Well i can honestly tell you that i've noticed the thing myself ooh and i've been wondering too

i'm, if not 100%, at least 80% very familiar with nollywood(ie the nigerian movie industry) but it does amaze me when most of the girls on that same "sun girl" section claim to be actresses and yet i can't recall seeing them on tele not to mention movies

Most of the time, i'm like what that he ck?? but what can you do?

when it comes to the modelling ones though, i've come to realize/understand that people who advertise products, or stand in for commercials are also called models, hence there are two definitions to the word "model"

For ex. a girl who advertizes "omo" can actually come and say she's a model, and yet have every right to stand for it. So atimes i wonder if that's the "modelling" some of the girls are talking about

I know next to nothing about the adverts in Naija at the moment, its been 3yrs since the last time i was there, so i'll be like well maybe, just maybe they're in one commercial or the other grin grin

And another fact, is that among them are people who are yet to achieve the goal of being a model (its their dream), and some are people who maybe have started the journey but not yet gotten to the destination but in their own "funny special dictionaries", they're models wink

being a model doesnt ve to mean that u are a runway model. You can model for any company and in most cases ur height size nd generall statistics dnt matter.
