I'm a customer to FCMB too, when my account was blocked last month, someone transferred 50k to me and my account was frozen so I had to go to the bank the next day, they said I need a valid ID and utility bill, gave them both next day and my account was restored before two hours....I used one of the offices at Oba-Akran,near computer village ikeja Lagos.

You can go there they respond to you asap.

I'm pitching my tent with you on this one.
I used to think Access bank is the best until they showed me their true colour during the reign of MMM. Peoples money were in my account and I couldn't withdraw because of restriction. I was typically plying zuba and kubwa like a taxi driver, in fact it was hell.

Then i realised that all banks are the same just because they haven't shown their true colour doesn't mean they are the best.

It is in the nature of Nigerian banks to give trouble, period!

Bro i was at the bank on Friday and submitted the required documents needed. The bank dey town I dey esut, if you around enugu you should know what I'm talking about.

To go there alone na almost 1k. This bank is really bleeped up.

You can keep wasting your time online chatting with a programmed booth. If you really need you account unrestricted you will have to be at the bank wait n sort out the problem. This is applicable to every bank in Nigeria not only FCMB just so you know.

FCMB blocked my account they told me i exceeded the account limit and i was asked to upgrade the account which they requested for a National ID card and a Nepa bill whuuci willingly provided since on Friday but up till today my account is still locked.
I have sent them up to 10 different mails, called them, messaged them on Facebook and Instagram but my comments are always being deleted whenever I make a complaints on their pages.

This bank is ruining my life, these guys are making me having a hard to feed i don't know what to do anymore.

The funny part is that they got the worst customer service in Nigeria, they don't card about their customers they are only after their money and nothing else.

Mynd44 please help me move to front page to show the world the scam this bank is. I'll attached screenshots of my conversations with them and everything below

Oga stop all this uproar... I received the same message and i walked straight into a branch with required documents (Utility bill and Identity card) and it was done under few hours. Beside this happened on a Friday and you are doing an electronic verification, customer service dont work over the weekend aside some cashiers in selected branches. Walk into a bank and if they dont resolve it then you can have a reason to act this way.

I would suggest that the guy should just enter plane straight to Lagos from Enugu. It's worth it in the long run.... After all it's his money.....

Go to their branch and sort it out. Had similar experience with them last month with mobile plus, sent mails, called, tweeted all to no avail until i went to one of their branch and it was sorted out.

You never need your money aswear. If you do, go to the bank, get a friend to video you while you yell at them in the banking hall.
Trust me the operations manager will attend to you and get it done right away.

Other option is write a strong worded letter to them and make sure you have an acknowledged copy. Bank fear litigation like hell.

Trust me and thank me later.

Bro had same issues in my account in same bank and same Enugu, had to rush to okpara Avenue branch, thankGod I came early morning and such requirements are in my car. I came by 8am and insisted on not going till it is rectified because they had to be contacting my account opening branch which is awka, finally around 12:30 I had my breakthrough, when they said it was now rectified I had to go use the atm and dash back to be sure. So bro go to the bank and call it a days job , take permission from work and stay there all day, don’t leave till it is verified, if they tell you bad network (because av been banking with them decades and know their “I don tire” skill) tell them no problem and keep waiting my brother

Mynd44 first off, I don't see any reason moving this to front page. Op gave them the requirements on Friday. Saturdays are closed for work. Sundays no work either. Then kn Monday is when work starts. They will have to start working to unblock the account from Monday. They do this for security reasons. At first if he produced an original I'd card his account won't be blocked. But they needed to verify the account due to the huge amount. I'll request you take this thing off. Impatience is bad. And it kills. Give them atleast 3days to resolve the issue after then you can shout. Weekends are not included young man.

The moment he gave them the requirements on Friday, the whole issue ought to have been resolved.

FCMB works all day mahn, ask questions around before jumping into conclusions. The customer care i met there on Friday told me its gonna be resolved on Saturday or Sunday.

Get out please

Dont generalize, if they work on Saturday it will be selected branches and in most cases, the staffs that come to work on Saturdays are cashier/tellers. Since u were there on Friday, you should have waited for them to resolve it. That was how i did my own 2weeks ago and i dont spend up to 3hrs there.

Just report them to CBN..

IF any Nigerian Bank fails to return your money within 24 hours of a failed online transfer, they will be fined 10,000 naira.

The money goes to YOU!

ALL you need to do is report the issue to Central Bank (cpd@cbn.gov.ng) and they will surely take it up.

When he opened that restricted type of account, he would have been told the terms and conditions. One of it is that the account should not receive above a certain amount. If he breached the terms then the account needs to be restricted until they can do a full KYC.
Even looking at his tweets, they deserve to be deleted.
