So, how did I fail to deliver or have you brought your lies here with you again?

What is the Holy Spirit's job which He is failing to do according to you?

I answered your other questions in my responses to NPComplete and dalaman.

Good day Mr OP@NPcomplete.
By the special Grace of the Almighty God I am a born again Christian and proud to be his second begotten and
among His children through our Savior Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Sir, if I deny the fact that I don't understand what you stated above I have no truth in me and proved myself a liar.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and He alone is the mystery behind all mysteries, secret behind all secrets and the wisdom behind all wisdom. The essence of the Holy Spirit in us as Christians is to LIVE THE EXACT LIFE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IN WISDOM, POWER, FAITH, LOVE AND MERCY WHILE HE WAS ON EARTH CARRYING THE BODY OF SIN OR FLESH.

Most Christians know at least little or nothing about the HOLY SPIRIT THAT INDWELLS EACH AND EVERY CHRISTIANS and that's the reason many of them don't function the way they ought to. Not only today's Christians but we also found out that the Corinthian and Galatian Christians in the Holy Bible were once engaged in this mess.

The SOLE reason why the Christians of today are still IN HYPOCRISY AND MEDOCRITY is because they don't know that THE HOLY SPIRIT INDWELLS THEM and as a result of this fact majority of Christians are into the WORKS AND AFFAIRS OF THE FLESH.

You cannot be a friend of the World as a Christian and also be a child of God at the same time and this is the reason I love this kind of arguments you just raised up, the Freethinkers, Atheists, Muslims and other unbelievers who are used by Satan to caused problem to the Body of Christ on the NEGATIVE SIDE but helping Christians to WAKE UP AND GET OUT OF THE AFFAIRS OF THE FLESH AND STICK TO THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THE POSITIVE SIDE.

The men of old in the old testament like Abraham, Noah, Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, Joseph, Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach, Abednego etc. were able to perform wonders by the help and comfort of the Holy Spirit even under the law except for Abraham and Joseph who were not under the law as stated above because they focus on the Lord God Almighty and on Him alone. This men have been able to gain mastery with the Holy Spirit and possess a momentum that was far above the works of the flesh and the affairs of the world and this is the simple reason they were called GREAT.

You even find out that Jesus Christ at the age of 12 posseses a wisdom that was even above the wisdom of the wise among the Pharisees and other scribes. Others like Apostle Paul, Apostle Peter, Apostle John also possess same characters of Christ Jesus. This shows that one with the Holy Spirit ought to be above the world because we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
Even Jesus Christ promise us that we can be able to do greater works when the Holy Spirit will come and indwells us because we are under GRACE. But you find out that majority of Christians have not been able to meet up to this expectation because most are into the WORKS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE FLESH.

Since most Christians still put FRESH WINE INTO OLD WINE SKIN which ought not to be, we will not be able to function as Christ Jesus to bring men into the light from darkness even when the Holy Spirit indwells us.

However other Christians that have been received dealing from God through the Holy Spirit have been able to change Atheists, Muslims, Freethinkers etc to the Lord Jesus Christ through signs and wonders, power and miracles even though you have not heard of them.

And so, we Christians should come as one body that we are and move in the direction of the Holy Spirit and prove to the world that yes the Holy Spirit is in us and working through us in order to bring men into the light of God which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Again, we Christians are not after the so called greatness of this world, the fame, the riches etc because they are temporal and nothing compared to the eternal greatness that is waiting for us after this life.
However in whatever way the Holy Spirit leads us whether in Politics like Joseph, Daniel, Esther or in Military like Gideon, Samson or as a tax collector like Zacchaeus etc in greatness, fame, riches or nothing, our major goal is to lead men to the Lord Jesus Christ who is a PERFECT REST FOR MANKIND.

So in essence Mr OP@NPcomplete we as Christians can't live up to the expectation of Christ Jesus and more than as you have stated above even above the average unbeliever if we continue to get entangle in the AFFAIRS AND WORKS OF THE FLESH AND THEREBY REFUSING TO BE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE WAY, TRUTH AND LIFE OF CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD AND ALSO IN SIGNS, WONDERS, POWER AND MIRACLES.

Sir, you too can even do more than the great men in the Holy Bible if you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you because He alone can reveal all the truth you need on earth not Me, Apostle Paul, Apostle Peter or Apostle John because the HOLY SPIRIT IS THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH AND WE RECEIVED HIM BY FAITH AND FAITH ALONE.
And should in case you are not born again better do so and give your life to Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior because our time here on earth is far spent.

May God continue to bestow His Grace, Love and Mercy through the Holy Spirit so that the eyes of men will find, see and abide in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hope I was not sentimental or biased.

Thanks.

God bless you.

How far but the Holy spirit is supposed to lead the newly born ignorant Christian into all truth. So it doesn't make sense that someone has the Holy spirit and they cannot use it or are ignorant.
Also part of the new covenant as seen from Ezekiel 36:26 is that I will put my law in you and remove the heart of stone and put my spirit in you. From Acts of the apostles anytime the holy spirit came there was an almost immediate deification of the individual in question. He begins to live on another realm.
My argument today is not the Holy Spirit's authenticity but that most Nigerians if not all don't have it and simply get a conscience upgrade at most or cower in fear of Hell as a potential future responsible for a perceived change

You don't believe in the christian faith, and your aim is to cause confusion.

The Holyspirit is doing is Job and even doing much more.

John 14: 16 - 17

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Knowledge is key in anything we do in life, even scripture says that My people are destroy for lack of knowledge

Every believer has the indwelling of the Holyspirit but not all believers are full of the Holyspirit. Those are two levels and the results are different.

Acts 6: 2-3
2.Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Why I am taking my time to answer these questions isn't because of you and your likes. it is because of some christians that are not grounded that will view this thread.

Thank you so much,

I wanted to straighten that out but I just decided to ignore.

When dealing with people like this, you have to be very cautious.

A man in a pit who is not willing to come of it, is likely to over power anyone trying to help him out.

Scripture says be as wise as serpent and as gentle as dove.

Thanks for helping to reply that gentleman. It is as if they don't read my argument and try as much as possible to avoid it while giving excuses for the impotence of modern Christians. The holy spirit is the embodiment of endless possibility. If u have the holy spirit but dont know how to use it simply means u don't have the holy spirit.

Oga, the question I am asking is very practical... No need quoting the bible and telling me what it said the holy spirit will do. We want to know what it IS doing.

Now God is in three persons, the holy spirit is also God...that's a big claim to make... Isn't it a bit fishy that Christians have God in them but they cannot to any significant thing on earth... All we see are claims claims and claims, nothing to show for it.

You said the holy spirit was given to u to effectively witness Christ to the world... Look around u, how effective are Christians witnessing Christ to the world? In Nigerian where many people claim to have the holy spirit as Christians, the church leaders are in a mess, the people are divided and evil prevails in the land.

You do have a point in the fact that my answers and comments tend to require work to get through. But the only work involved is in actually reading them, not in understanding them. So, it takes someone who actually is interested in finding good answers to the questions you and others like you ask to read them.

After all, that is how life works: you have to really want something in order to have any chance at getting it. Life doesn't come tailored to our convenience. We have to work for the things we care about. And in this case, my answers may be good or they may be bad but if you don't read them, you cannot tell one way or another. And if you don't read them, you deceive yourself when you claim to be looking for answers to the questions you ask.

You keep provoking me with the use of "it" and not "He" when you are referring to the Holy Spirit. if you want us to have a meaningful discussion, you will have to correct that by rephrasing your question even if you have to do that for the basis of this conversation.

If not, I can't have a conversation with someone like you.

Over the years I have always maintained that nobody has the Holy Spirit. Not even your pastor, not your prophet and not even you. Most times it is just a hunch that zealous Christians, needing to convince themselves that they are special, call the Holy spirit. The events of the past week with Oyedepo and his egregious intellectual incompetence has convinced me to double down on that opinion.

I have maintained that if you do a thorough scientific research of the life of the average Christian screaming about having the holy spirit and compare it with the average Muslim, Buddhist and atheist, u will find almost no difference in the results they have been able to achieve. How is it possible that one claiming to carry the power and spirit of the creator of the universe does on average achieve the same result as one who doesn't? Only one possible conclusion can be drawn from that. Either anyone can have the Holy spirit regardless of religion or no one does.

The Holy spirit is supposed to be the spirit of God. The spiritual embodiment of infinite power and intelligence. We supposedly have that much power possessing numerous Christians in Nigeria yet we have nothing to show for it. Something must be wrong somewhere. If I am possessed by the spirit of Einstein, at the very least I should become good at theoretical physics. If someone becomes possessed by the spirit of Magnus Carlsen someday, at least we should expect that the person becomes very good chess.

So what have Nigerian Christians with their claims of Holy spirit achieved?

Nigeria is where it is today and Africa is being ravaged by droughts, famine and HIV today yet we are unable to come up with solutions to them despite the number of people literally carrying God inside them. Why? With that much access to the creator of the universe, one would think that any of these people would have found innovative solutions to these problems that no one has seen or ever thought of.

Oyedepo was in church reading out satire like a real story and making claims on it. At no time during that self-deprecating episode did the Holy Spirit in him whisper to him and say "hey dude, this is satire". Shouldn't the Holy spirit know something as simple as that? Anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see that save for Oyedepo and the spirit inside him. Later I read somewhere about him predicting or saying something about 2019. How can we believe he sees the future when he can't even see what is in front of him?

It seems the only time the Holy spirit works is when pastors want to collect money from you. That's when you hear them claiming "I am being moved my the spirit to raise an offering". But solutions to real practical problems can never be given to them by the spirit.

Lastly, the sheer amount of dumb Christians running around is enough sign that none of these people have any spirit inside them let alone the Holy one. If I am smarter than you are then you don't have the Holy spirit since I can't be smarter than God.

So Christians should stop blaspheming against God and dragging Him into any decision they make. We all know most of those decisions don't always come out right anyway.
Yes, everyone has equal measure access of the Holy Spirit.
You actually fill out into the Holy Spirit.

One most glorious thing the Holy Spirit has done is that He has categorized every man according to their ways in the Holy Scriptures. With this there is no need trying to force the truth down the gullet of anyone.

Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work must always proved to be foolishness to them that are perishing because their mind and eyes have been blinded by satan and so we Christians are not surprised.

We share some of the truth will have already received from the Holy Spirit to the world so that they moved away from darkness into the kingdom of light in the Lord Jesus Christ.

To the atheists here only the Holy Spirit can feed you with all the truth you desire only if you give your lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.

There is no point arguing or bringing up scriptures and I will always pray for you all so that your eyes will be opened.

Do Atheists ask questions to know the truth or just to find a way to remain wise in their own eyes?

I thought you were intentionally doing that. We are good, we can continue.

Have you seem these verses of scripture before and I hope that it will help you understand reasons behind all you have listed;

Psalms 82: 6 - 7

5They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Psalms 49 vs 20

Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

I am trying my best not to do too much but at the same time make sure that my brethern that we go through this thread can leave with a better understanding and not confusion.

Don't confuse me for a pastor, I am not a pastor. I am just a son of God that love God, and have had a little taste of His grace, love and power.

When people argue about the works of the holy spirit, I wonder how it is possible for anyone to miss his activities...

I wonder how his works are so glaring and yet people do not see it.

Then I remember what Jesus said....

Jesus said that the world does not know the holy spirit.. and cannot receive him.

They don't know him. They don't have him.
Convincing them that he exists is gonna be difficult.

..or close to impossible.

God has a will, and He is sovereign. If you think He'll bend His will just to attend to your complaints, you're wasting your time. He knows all things, and He knows how to act, when to act and why to act. It would be wise to submit wholly (in humility) to His sovereignty.

Even atheists here can testify to the number of times they recuperated from an ailment without drugs or visiting the hospital. And they didn't need to pray or believe either. So claims about belief healing anyone is worthless.

Faith Oyedepo was down she ran to hospital were healings actually happens lol. Not even the belief of her husband and every pastor in their company could help her.

I thought you were intentionally doing that. We are good, we can continue.

Have you seem these verses of scripture before and I hope that it will help you understand reasons behind all you have listed;

I am really sorry, i fail to see how these bible verses answers my question on what is really the practical duty of the Holyspirit that is also God. you said the holy spirit was given to you to effectively witness Christ... look around you, how effectively are you guys witnessing christ? Nigeria is a perfect Example... men of God that claim to have the holy spirit are battling with living an examplary life. there is nothing i see to show for or as the handiwork of the holyspirt.

the verses u are quoting are a response to a different topic i guess, cause it i see absolutely no relationship with them and my question.

What you have fail to realize is that we have more
church goers than Christians. I don't really think you have met a christian. When you meet one, you will talk differently.

When you touch an insulated container containing hot water and it isn't hot on the outside; should the hot water be regarded as cold ?

Have you seen this scripture before?

Rev 3:15-16)

15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!
16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Rom 12 v 11
11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

And would have share some other factors with you, but you are not an insider. There are some issue you discuss with a brother/friend that you don't discuss with a acquaintance/stranger.

Regardless of the outcome of this discussion, please be informed that I have lived on both sides of the divide. comparing the two sides, I prefer and I am enjoying this side of the divide and the difference is the Holy spirit.

So much excuses and diversion. What is the practical effect of the holyspirit. Your excuse is that I have never seen any Christian before. Isn't that why I questioning? You are actually right... Every person I have seen that is a Christian is actually a hypocritic pretender. That why I think Christianity is a failed religion.

Imagin having everyone around profess Christianity and not a single one of them is a Christian.

I will like to meet u cause u seem to be the only Christian in Nigeria. The bad news u have nothing special to tell me about the holyspirit. If the holyspirit's function is to make u feel good within urself, that's a dumb duty for God in man.

Please live with your conviction and stop trying to understand a reality you don't want to live.

If you ever run into christians like bro Gbile Akanni, Apostle Joshua Selman, strive Masiyiwa, Benny Hinn, just to mention a few. You will understand what the Holy Spirit can do.

Oga Christian... U can never tell me any reasonable function of this una Holy spirit. I will bet my right leg.

At best... The holy spirit is the biggest confusionist of all time. Wonder with we have more that 300 christian denominations right here in naija alone? Yet they all have the holy spirit

.Don't bother yourself about the holy spirit for now.

He has nothing to do with you......

You are a carnal man who cannot understand spiritual matters.

There is no point explaining spiritual matters to you.

What you need now is repentance..
