Old things have passed away.” The “old” refers to everything that is part of our old nature—natural pride, love of sin, reliance on works, and our former opinions, habits and passions. Most significantly, what we loved has passed away, especially the supreme love of self and with it self-righteousness, self-promotion, and self-justification. Don't go to far, as a man thinks in his heart so he is, the scriptures are talking about your heart, the real you, the created part. The hidden part. Your unseen thoughts. The scripture commanded us to put on the new you which is ecreated in the true image and likeness of God Almighty. Don't forget in Genesis the spirit man was created before in chapter 2 then the natural man was formed and breath transferred and he became a living soul. Another scripture again instructed that you should be transformed by renewing your mindset. Folks too many times like the blinded ruler will think that they will have to enter into their mother's womb and be born again, no, just change your thought change your life. That's why even after they have become Christian they'd still act the way they used to. Present your thoughts for transformation. The teacher from heaven the Holy Spirit wants to transform you and then get you translated into the kingdom of his dear son in whom we have all things.
And Christ Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will teach you all things and brings to your rememberance what he taught in the past.

THe passage instead addresses how, for those who are born-again, the traditions of the Old Law of Moses are to be completely abandoned in order that the New way may be fully adopted by those who would live their lives in complete submission and obedience to the New Way, Jesus Christ. The passing away of Old Things is meant to take place at the point one chooses to become born-again as that is when one becomes born of the New Fountain of Living Water. However, this transformation is not automatic as it requires self-discipline on the part of the one who chooses to adopt the New in place of the Old.
