My brother you must increase your faith-pastors praying in a church for who? Paying for Nigeria does that mean you will be the next president to solve our problems, prayers can take any dimentio it may be through somebody or you -God is a merciful God He can do and undo

God answers prayers and will continue to do so. The point is, God knows what we need better than we do. In this context, maybe He felt your ego would have taken over you, hence He gave someone else the solution.

I went to the Stadium yesterday to do some exercise,
While I was at it, A boys phone fell in a sealed gutter. He and his friend struggled to remove the phone with sticks but couldn't, I decided to help out...we tried and tried but couldn't, the Stadium was beginning to get scanty...

The boy gave up and said he would come back later in the day with a Big hammer to break the concrete, all the time we were there I was very optimistic we were going to remove the phone and I was assuring the boy not to worry that he was going to get his phone..

After thinking and trying again and again I almost gave up,but an idea came to my head, "if we can get an iron hanger we can remove the phone" I told the boy,but there was no where we could get a hanger there or any rod that could help...

I got frustrated within me and decided to pray in my mind for God to help us remove the phone. While I was praying in my mind the stick fell inside the gutter, So ran to get another stick...

As I came back with the stick I saw one of the boys trying to put a nylon in the gutter,So I asked what he was trying to do,He then said he got an idea that we should put a nylon in the gutter then push the phone with the stick into the nylon and then pull the nylon out with the stick...Immediately he said that I smiled smiley and called him a genius.

Just close to us was a cloth-like material I rushed to get it and told them this one will be better, In less than 5mins the phone was out...

On my way back home I was thinking of the whole experience, A thought came to my mind " You were busy praying while someone else was busy thinking ...It kept on reoccurring on my mind; I should have been the one to get that idea if I had spent more time thinking than praying ...But when I got home I said to myself God answered my prayers either ways.... But then why wasn't it through me...

Should I have thought more on getting solutions or trust in prayers...

Relate this to life generally, most times we have problems and instead of thinking of how to solve the problem we tend to just be praying without thinking
From this experience I've come to understand that when faced with life challenges we should think consciously on solving the problem without neglecting Prayers...

HAPPY SUNDAY TO YOU ALL.
Think more than you pray. Work harder than you hope.

Assuming God do answer prayers base on every request we made, some of us would have died b4 our time. Our requests are mostly canal and selfish. For the fact that the phone was removed from the pit, is a prayer answerd. The answer to your prayer must not come through you.

Prayer is a lazy man's opium-- the solace of a man who has no confidence in his abilities. Prayers do not build bridges, road, iPhone, TV and other mundane materials that pretentious and prayerful Nigerians chase on a daily basis.

No country has ever prayed her way to greatness. They innovate. If action is needed in that process, no holds barred not excluding war.

If prayer is the key, Nigeria would be el Dorado. Don't forget that in Nigeria, God is only a means to an end. The true god that Nigerians (including the inglorious clergymen and women) worship is MONEY.

HAPPY SUNDAY TO YOU ALL.

Did you consider that it was your prayer that got the idea to the boy? When Mordecai and the Israelites prayed wasn't it his niece God used to deliver them?
Question: If you had been the one to come up with the idea what difference would it have made in the situation? That you're a better and faster thinker than the others?

Wrong reasoning.

How certain are you that the other guy didn't pray b4 he got the insight ?

In your post earlier, you stated that you got frustrated at a point and you prayed to God to help you guys retrieve the phone.

Were you guys able to retrieve the phone in the end?

Just cos HE didn't make you the " hero of that gutter" doesn't mean he didn't hear and answer.

When faced with any situation, pray to God 1st to give you insight.

Thoughts are flowing freely in the universe waiting to be picked up by the minds of individual who can be on it frequency. Have you ever wondered why 2 or more individual would think the same thing despite being in different locations, and the you get the "that was exactly what I was thinking" response. Ranchoddas, it the universality if thought at work

as your prayer was going, God was giving out idea on how to get the phone out, don't forget his idea came up when you started praying! It's not necessary you have the idea but you've just done the best part which is involving God.

Prayer and faith goes together, it's one thing to pray and another thing to have faith, it was your prayer that enabled the other man to have faith that the nylon or the cloth you use will work.

He still answers by fire.

Your prayer wasn't in vain. Are you disappointed that God brought answers thru someone else and not you? Why do you feel God should have made use of you, are you better than others? Or God should obey you? What makes you think the other guy didn't pray? Or God wanted to teach you a lesson of humility or the concept of working in unison?

So many what if...that is why He is God. We never question His will nor ways.

You never taught that that was God's way of answering your prayer. Let's think of it:
Being optimistic was in form of faith,
Praying to God was totally trusting God, and
The boy having the idea was way of answering prayer. It only didn't come through you but your boys. What if it were your oga. Remember, a good work from your boy is your credit. Think about it.
What if it wasn't god answering his prayer and his friend was acting on his own?

If I am understanding you right, the young man's idea to use the stick and the plastic bag together could not have been God's Answer to your prayer? If that is what you are saying, why are you saying it? Why is that not a way that God could have answered you?

Toeing this your line, maybe the prayers of pre colonial for a better standard of living was answered by way of God allowing the colonials to conquer Africa and gradually introduce their way of life and system of governance to us.

I wonder how the prayer for a better Nigeria would be answered.

what a deficient theory...he should tell us how man's thoughts created the world....the names of those men that brought/ worked their thought to life...

What a response. Almost every religion and culture has its own account of creation. As such it doesn't make the biblical account of creation the only valid point. What happened to Charles Darwin's theory and host of other creation stories.

Problem of being and Problem of evil are two valid postulations that will rubbish all your biblical account of creation.

Read wide and explore other approach to life and you will be better informed.
