The model which crashed was bought only 4 months ago by Ethiopian Airlines: brand new.

It is even better for an aircraft to have been in service for a number of years so any flaws are fixed.

Carmakers have had to recall new brands after faults were discovered. It is unfortunate that airplane faults lead to many deaths if a crash occurs, unlike car crashes that lead to fewer deaths per accident.

Exactly. The greatest danger arises with new models. Boeing likes rolling out new models because it's a for profit Company. They were about to roll out 777 or so in a few days.

No, my point is that since they are still in their manufacturing stages, if defects are found, they will be fixed before being certified worthy to fly.

China, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Norway, UK, South Korea and airlines in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina
