Olokun (Yoruba: Olókun, known as Olocún in Latin America) is an orisha. Olokun is believed to be the parent of Aje, the orisha of great wealth and of the bottom of the ocean. Olokun is revered as the ruler of all bodies of water and for the authority over other water deities. Olokun is highly praised for her or his ability to give great wealth, health and prosperity to her or his followers. Communities in both West Africa and the African diaspora view Olokun variously as female, male, and this year 2019 Festival have been planned and scheduled to be the most powerful festival in Osun State. call Princess for more info: 0 8 .0 3.3 0.0 .9.6 .3.6

You are not serious.
The one person I see there dressed like a Benin is probably Benin himself...
Besides Olokun is not from Benin into Yoruba, but from Yoruba into Benin, just like many other things.

You also want to claim pounded yam and eguisi too are for the Yoruba's wonders shall never end the lady in the picture wore a beeded hair dress with coral beeds this alone will tell you olokun worship is foreign to the yorubas....
How did eguisi and pounded yam seem yoruba lets start from there who colonized who ? Four yoruba state where under Benin territory and you open your mouth to lie openly even when the pictures speaks the truth the question you should ask yourself now is why are the people on that pictures dressing like the benin royals instead of yorubas ...ooh god you're forefathers should be blamed for this. they where busy fighting civil war and selling themselves as slaves to the whitemen for penny instead of documenting thier history now the children are busy claiming others peoples history

These are pictures of benin queens below

Olokun is a Yoruba deity.
Olokun is associated with IFA, "ifa olokun asoro dayo".
97% of the deities worship in Binin kingdom are associated with Yoruba deity and they all have their history in IFA.
Olokun is a Yoruba language and not a Binin language "Lord of the water". I believe that is not a Binin language?

Why would i believe a word from the tribe that never dicumented thier history, a tribe that have so many account of the story of thier originator just tell me why i should take that tribe serious.
With no document you just want me to believe the deities are from the Yoruba's tribe haha....
The picture above shows the dressing of the edo royals not the yorubas royals ..even for a second if i have to believe olokuns is from the Yoruba's how did it get to benin....because you're a majour tribe then the minor tribe must get to borrow from you even with no evidence

Nigga stop that trash you talking about ...yoruba should be the last tribe to claim identification to any history in nigeria a tribe that boast of an empire that lacked documentation yet their children are here claiming identification to idols like they stored history in thier head a tribe wish was colonized by the Fulani's and edos, if the Fulani's wasn't a majour tribe the yorubas would have also claim they gave them Islam .now you you want me to tell you the meaning of olokun to what use is it .
so you can read a fairtale story from the Yoruba folklore to me. Instead tell me why are the people in the picture dress like the edos and, lastly how did we borrow all this gods you claim edo worship from yoruba who brought them to edo....

The way Britain introduced Christianity to Nigerians just the same way we introduced this gods to the yoruba nations....

If you want to have fun, come and watch clowns of Edo usurpers whose Oba told them the meaning of Benin and Eweka in Yoruba. You do not believe your own Obama?

Now Olokun is Edo?

At least most Nigerians had elementary education on Bini history before the new revised history.

I wonder why Edo have not joined others to claim they coined the Yoruba word and it's language.

All the times,I have seen you and many of your likes peddling lies online because of inferiority complex. I can't just imagine the reason you and chunks of Edos who are interested in ‘culture section' want to match Yoruba glory by deceptive means.

Interestingly, the etymon of ‘Olo' is derived from Olu(Lord- god-master) of ‘Okun' and ‘Okun' is( large body of water-sea). Does ‘Olu- Olo' have this same meaning in Edo lexicon? Perhaps, you know wjat we dont know. I known it as a fact that Osanobua is what is known in Edo as lord-God, which is also borrowed from Yoruba's Oosá- Orísá. So ,kindly note, it is not of Edo origin but Yoruba's.

Furthermore, the world headquarter of Olu-okun-Olokun is in Yoruba land, which nullify your POOR opinion. Infact, Yoruba man created Bini, with his own opinion when he saw anger in Igodomigodp in which you ignorantly boast over in today's world grin . Isn't it even a shame for you to boast over such name given to you by a conqueror? Even ‘Oba' also has Yoruba etymon and the most revered king in Edo is also a descendant of a Yoruba man.
