A heartbroken Nigerian man identified as Tobi Marshal, took to Twitter to call out a Lekki hospital as he narrated how his mother died of negligence by a hospital in India.

According to Tobi, his mother was diagnosed with degenerative Lumber canal stenosis with instability and scoliosis at L4-5 & L3-4 at Vedic Lifecare hospital, Lagos in 2018. The Nigerian man who called out the Lekki based hospital as recounted how his mother died of negligence by the hospital in India, tweeted;

These Indians are just taking advantage of the Nigerian situation. If I am not mistaken, they should be a 3rd world country too.

Before you try medical tourism, make sure you've exhausted your options here. It's sad how other countries take us for a ride and the blame rests squarely on the government. Treat doctors right and provide an enabling environment for Everybody.

India is the last place i will go or encourage anyone to go for medical treatment. Dont get me wrong, there are world renowned Indian doctors but mostly working outside india.

I will rather go to UAE for medicals as opposed to India. Dude should have taken his mom to Europe or US.

We have no business going abroad for medical care. We spend between $3 billion and $10 billion a year, not counting travel, hotel, accompanying relatives etc.

Apart from the financial loss, the early & unnecessary loss of lives that millions of families in Nigeria have been through is just devastating.

This thing is not that difficult. There are models that can be explored to tackle healthcare for different (economic and other) segments of society.

I guess when Buhari himself goes abroad for basic medical care, they won't bother listening to what could work. Time to ignore the government & just implement and solve problems.

U need to have a trusted consultant/practitioner probably in a govt hospital to double check or verify the practices of sm of these private hospitals. All most of them know is money.

This is tragic especially since it happened to someone i know. I just pray the family stays strong in this trying times. No one deserves this kind of treatment. India is a no no henceforth for medical treatment outside Nigeria. A doctor at Reddington once told me about the exploitation of these Indian hospitals . Perhaps USA,UK,GERMANY or even DUBAI HEALTHCARE CITY are better options. May GOD help us all . We owe it to go all out to ask questions of this vedic lifecare hospital to ensure that such negligence and fraud never ever happens to any Nigerian again
