Many Nigerians do not ask questions before they make a move. My dad underwent a surgery here some years back. Three other families had fathers who needed same.

We collectively paid a hospital to have a specialist cone in from South Africa to do the procedures here.

All were successful and the specialist used the cases to teach the Naija doctors. Now I hear one of the docs is doing the same procedure here now.

All this medical tourism is rubbish.

Indian hospitals are scams. Dubai would have been a better option

If you have money to go to India for treatment, it is better to you to South Africa.

I pity the citizen of this country. The Indians are the worst con set of people. If only we had a functional hospitals. If you see the amount Nigerians pay in Indian for medical attention, you will be shocked. We experience capital flight in this country from all angles. We go abroad to study, spending millions of dollars in acquiring foreign education, we go to Indian for medicals, spending millions, we go to South Africa for holiday and spend millions of dollars. Yet, all sectors of the country are in a mess.

Let CBN make available from WDAS the usage of FOREX approved for individuals and you will be shocked at what we spend those money on.

If only we could fix our social and physical infrastructure.

India is the last place i will go or encourage anyone to go for medical treatment. Dont get me wrong, there are world renowned Indian doctors but mostly working outside india.

I will rather go to UAE for medicals as opposed to India. Dude should have taken his mom to Europe or US.

Don't blame India. Blame your country that was supposedly freed in 1960 but her citizens still live under a dollar a day in 2019. If not for the wickedness of our leaders who are Indians that we are taking people to for medical treatment, India that is still so uncivilized that they still defecate outside?

This is sad. I don't understand why Nigerians would choose India of all places for healthcare.

I had a lot of them as classmates and they had issues with hygiene, reason i'm not surprised the patient came down with meningitis. Their filth and carelessness won't let them do a good job. If the patient doesn't die from post-surgical complications, they'd be sure to die from nosocomial infections.
Some of them are very good and professional though.


These Indian hospitals also promise cure for some 'incurable' end stage diseases, luring patients and relatives to India to waste their resources when all the patient needs is palliative care at home. Yes, they already know that there's little or no hope but the money must be made.

Please, people should choose better countries for medical tourism, let them treat themselves. India's 'cheapness' isn't exactly cheap in the end.

My Indian colleagues thinks we have better hospitals here in Nigeria compared to his place.
He said they made choices till they can find a good one and he wasn’t saying it to please me but meant it.

It's physically and mentally exhausting to be a Nigerian. We can't seem to get anything right.

The Health sector that should not be toyed with is an absolute joke, people dying of treatable diseases and no plans to tackle ailments an average human being is likely to suffer especially at certain ages, even for the middle class.

It is actually a crisis but nothing is treated seriously here. People have had to resort to begging for money to be able to afford health care. Those who have money get swindled by foreign hospitals with doctors without conscience, money that could have been circulated internally if we had proper facilities within. We have even heard of these depraved foreign doctors harvesting organs of non suspecting patients.

It is tiring, really. Very pathetic situation. God help us all.
