PDP met the constitutional requirements as emphasized by the supreme court. The valid votes across the entire offices contested are now over 90% pdp's.

My first thought was to insult you but it is not necessary if you find the right path.

How can PDP win 90% when the main elections was not even the case supreme court ruled. All APC votes is null and void so PDP still have what it got.

To win governor you must have a simple majority plus must have won at least 25% of the votes cast in two 3rds of the local governments in the state. Invalid votes count here. If for example total votes cast is 100million and apc won 50million votes, PDP 45 million, other parties 4million and invalid 1million. With the judgement, invalid becomes 51million. So PDP win on one condition, that they won 25% votes of 2/3rd of the local governments. That is if there are 10 LGA, they must have 25% in 8 LGAs. If they dont have 25% in 3 LGAs, they wont be declared winner.

My problem is that there will be a constitutional lacuna by May 29 which is 5 days away. There will be no governor elect and the tenure of the sitting governor will expire in 5 days. The line of succession is Governor, Deputy, and speaker. None of them is available on May 29th unless PDP qualifies. What will happen if PDP doesnt?

The PDP candidate did not meet the two -third Requirement. There is tendency that fresh election would be conducted which would exclude APC candidates.

The Election in Zamfara State was between APC and PDP. If you remove APC vote,it means that anything LGA PDP scored only 500 votes, that 500 votes can constitute up to 70% or more of the total vote cast in that LGA.

You cannot classify APC votes as invalid because those votes were NEVER casted in the first place

What you are talking about is disenfranchisement. Those people who voted APC actually voted. That they voted a party that is disqualified makes their vote invalid just like if you vote twice on the same ballot. Those votes still count and cannot count for PDP or any other party. They cannot be deleted either, they have only been declared invalid. The total number of votes cast in the election cannot change.

The constitutional requirements of getting one quarter of total votes cast in at least 2/3 lgs of the state is not fulfilled by PDP as stipulated by the apex court ruling.

Let's wait for inec position on this essential part of the rulings.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will announce its decision on Zamfara elective positions on Monday.

Reacting to the supreme court ruling which sacked all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general election, Festus Okoye, INEC director of voter education and publicity, said the commission will meet on Saturday after an emergency meeting held Friday afternoon.

The APC had been declared winner of the state governorship election as well as seven house of representatives seats, three senatorial positions and 24 house of assembly seats.

It was met by pdp. Immediately apc's Votes became wasted, the denominator has now reduced to the basis for which pdp has the simple majority.

PDP has. 25% in 100% spread!

You still didn't get it that APC votes were null and void.

The new results will be based on how many non-APC votes, and it doesn't matter how small it is. Your guess is as good as mine that PDP will score not less than 90% of non-APC votes.

This means Zamfara House of Assembly could be homogenously PDP. In the same vein, PDP will gain three more senators and more members in NASS.

S'oro mi understand e?

APC is extinct in Zamfara, at least for the next 4 years. So, live with that reality.

Watch and see, by 2023, 90% of all the PDP members that will benefit from the judgement would not be in PDP.

*IT IS NOT YET UHURU FOR PDP IN ZAMFARA STATE*

IBRAHIM ABDUL, Esq. P.hD. ANALYSED:

ZAMFARA: A NOVEL CONSTITUTIONAL PRECEDENCE
From the Supreme Court judgement today and my analysis of the Zamfara State declared Guber results vis-a-vis the declaration of the Apex Court ''that the runner-up candidate be sworn in if he fulfills the constitutional requirement of getting one quarter of the total votes cast in at least two-third of the local government areas of the state''. The PDP may not benefit from the judgement as being speculated. Here is my analysis.

The PDP did not win any of the 14 Local Government Areas in the last Gubernatorial polls in Zamfara state, APC won all. However, PDP had one-quarter (25%) of the total votes cast in only 6 (Anka, Bukkuyum, Maradum, Buggundu, Kaura Namoda and Maru LGs) while it did not make the 25% requirement in the remaining 8 (Bakura, Gunmi, Zurmi, Birnin Mogaji, Gusau, Shinkafi and Tsafe). Mathematically, two-third of 14 (LGs) is 9. Thus, Zamfara may not have a substantive Governor come May 29, 2019. Even if the Chief Judge assumes the Acting Governor's role, there may still not be any elected members of the House of Assembly to be inaugurated. So the CJ will be a Sole Administrator.

Get information before you contribute on a public forum. The candidates are declared based on total VALID votes not just votes. Go back and watch the video of inec issuing certificate of returns. Nobody considers invalid votes in declaring winners. The invalid votes are to account for total accredited voters statistics to show no mago mago. Understand?

Stop confusing urself. The supreme court cannot by pronouncement decide to allocate votes to a particular party. What's to say those voters would vote for PDP if given another chance? Just as in osun in 2010, votes voided by the courts no longer count in the overall votes cast
