The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will announce its decision on Zamfara elective positions on Monday.

Reacting to the supreme court ruling which sacked all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general election, Festus Okoye, INEC director of voter education and publicity, said the commission will meet on Saturday after an emergency meeting held Friday afternoon.

The APC had been declared winner of the state governorship election as well as seven house of representatives seats, three senatorial positions and 24 house of assembly seats.

Very funny.

You obviously have seen your mistake and have changed the goal post.

Are you insinuating i said invalids vote count for the winner? If i didnt say that then what did you contest in my initial comment?

Read yours again

I ask you again, what are invalid votes done with?

Thrown away?

Discarded?

Deleted?

Or given to PDP?

You dont seem to know by the quote above.

Your initial post seemed to imply that invalidated votes form part of 25% required by the law. That is what I'm referring to. 25% of valid votes is what the constitution requires, not 25% of total votes. The issue of valid or invalid votes occur when there's a need to determine if the number of invalid votes is larger than the margin of victory. In this case, this will not be considered because the votes invalidated by the courts are no longer counted as part of total votes. Again, check Osun 2010 judgement for more info

Cause you didn't read it.

Am surprised that you have decided to act knowledgeable but still isnt.

The bolded is a big lie.

Look below.

An invalid vote is also a vote cast.

When a vote is nullified it does not count and has no legal significance

You wont fail to disappoint.

You moniker is associated with falsehood and strong arguments based on either biased opinions or complete lies.

Take this result below for instance. Taking Ondo, can you explain why if you total APC, PDP and other parties votes you get 555,994 votes but the total votes cast is 582,827. What acoounts for the difference?

In fact, what is an invalid votes column doing there.

I am dissappointed that a person as popular as you in the politics section dont know this basic fact that invalid votes is a vote count among the total votes cast. It means you have been misleading alot of young and naive Nairalanders who see your arguments as reasonable.

No one, can nullify a single vote as long as you are a Nigerian and above the voting age of 18, you have a PVC and you showed up at the specified voting time. It is a right enshrined in the Constitution and every finger that touches a ballot will count in the total votes cast. Your vote can only be valid or invalid and both will count in total votes cast.

I repeat, no one can nullify a vote. A vote is either valid or invalid.

It will be disenfranchisement to nullify a vote and unconstitutional for any court to do that unless you are below 18 or not a Nigerian.

Get your facts right PaChukwudi44

Did INEC nullify the APC votes?

Pls quote specifics where i was wrong.

Before INEC came up with this press conference, i wrote severally that PDP will be declared because out of 14 LGAs PDP had 25% of total votes cast in more than 10LGAs. The magic number was 5 but PDP had enough. My argument is about the total votes cast. Tell me what INEC said about it.

INEC 'Discounted' APC votes to arrive at the new valid votes cast.

Yes, what do you expect before?

Discounted APC votes then add APC votes to invalid votes. That has been the argument. The spread calculation involves valid and invalid votes.

Can you point their calculation?

I did the math myself and PDP won.

The spread is to follow LG by LG. Take the new winner PDP scores and divide it by Total votes cast (including Invalid where APCs votes are). Multiply by 100 to make it percentile. The result must be at least 25% in 10 out of 14 LG of Zamfara. From my math, PDP passed the spread to about 12 LG.

The Twitter screen shot you posted means you never even understood my argument.

The constitutional requirements of getting one quarter of total votes cast in at least 2/3 lgs of the state is not fulfilled by PDP as stipulated by the apex court ruling.

Let's wait for inec position on this essential part of the rulings.

INEC has cleared your lacuna right? PDP has 25%+ in all the 14 LGAs.

The entire apc's 500k+ votes must be subtracted from total votes cast to start with. PDP had 25% in all the 14 LGAs with as high as 90+ in many.
