I discovered Nairaland the same year I opened my facebook account - 2009. I opened one Nairaland account with my first yahoo mail account then in 2009 and I forgot the password. So I opened this account I'm currently using in 2016.

It was 2009, as a very curious 15 year old then, I used to surf the web endlessly. Reading everything readable. I spent most of my time on Wikipedia and MySpace. I was Googling something about the Nigerian Entertainment industry and Nairaland was the first result that showed up.
The thread was amazing! Comments were very intelligent and incredibly sarcastic! I laughed till my ribs started to hurt. I created an account promptly, although I've lost that account. I created this one in 2011.
I have to say a whole lot have changed over the years. I think the golden era on Nairaland ended circa 2013-14. It just went downhill since then! Bigotry,. Tribalism, Meaningless trolling and annoying spam ads are now the order of the day!

I dicovered nairaland 2013, can't remember when I registered my first account then I used to follow telemundo and other series updates but my love for nairaland graduated to other sections where I would spend hours learning, or being entertained. Then some of my favorite sections were programming, web master, general, business and investment. I couldn't stay a day without checking nairalands posts. But now nairaland has changed especially my favorite sections...at times I feel am wasting my precious time even reading some topics on this forum. But nairaland remain one of my favorite places on the web. I guess nairaland started to phase out in 2017. I just wish nairaland becomes what it used to be when I joined...good times

I discovered nairaland from xvideos.

I thought nairaland will give me a better adult entertainment than xvideos.

I was hugely disappointed.
