DerideGull: If you understand English you'll understand the word MOST. The states you mentioned saw less of the war than the states I mentioned that saw most of the war. The war started in present day Cross River State at Garkem town. Then at Obollo Afor in present day Enugu state. But those were diversionary attacks by Nigerian armed forces. The real war started from Brass into Port Harcourt and Eket (Akwa Ibom) led by Colonel Adekunle. |

[quote author=Neozy post=78875057] FYI, no African living or dead and/or perhaps even the unborn is greater than Awolowo. It obvious you don't know him that why you're speaking trash.[/quote I can mention a few as great...Kwame Nkrumah, Steven Biko, Mandela...but nevertheless Awolowo was a great man, the impact he made and all he achieved. Greatness can be measured in several ways and forms... |

kingdavidG:Do you know the population of the entire South South? Asari is doing his political calculations, or have you see the South South factions take any tough actions on behalf of Biafra...Asari is an intelligent man, he is learned, he has political ambitions, the Delta Iboes have a good number, he can use this. |

DerideGull:Stop twisting facts and saying nonsense...the Ijaws were fishermen from history, they always lived by the sea, the Iboes ran from their tribes to every where across the country because it is a landlocked zone, and the place ain't really good to thrive. Other tribes don't need Iboes, Iboes need other tribes, to survive. This is a public forum, stop disgracing yourself here. The word progenitor, is, A forefather, any of a person's direct ancestors. An individual from whom one or more people (dynasty, tribe, nation...) are descended. Use your words well, learned people abound in this forum. 2 Likes |

Bbygirlnextdoor:It's true, Asari is trying to venture into politics, he needs the support of Iboes in their zones...it's simple politics, tell me one action any of the Niger Delta factions took cos of Biafra, they will sympathise with them, cos they are Southerners, but they know they ain't Biafra, so no violence has ever been carried out by MEND or any of the factions on behalf of Biafra. Everyone knows Nnamdi Kanu too is just a politician...he is playing on the gullibility of average Iboes...Asari is playing to this tactic too. It's all politics my dear, If Nnamdi Kanu is serious we will know. Enlightenment |

oglalasioux: This is the reason I dislike this forum these days. There was a time this forum was heaven for knowledge and debates were allowed to rage. The first eastern region territory attacked by Nigerian forces was Bonny. There was nothing such as diversionary attack during the war. All were strategic in nature. I cannot agree with you that a war which raged from Obollo Afor through Nsukka to Lokpanta in Okigwe was mere diversionary. |

distributeinc: I guess you render yourself to book study not tender of internet and goofy stuffs from shithole called Nigeria. The only main job performed by the people who lived within the estuaries was making of salt. Do you think being a fisherman entails catching fish with locally made spear or basket. The really fishing came with Europeans who brought fishing nets, hooks and lines to the region. Besides the nets, hooks and lines, what did your forbearers use in the occupation of fishing? |

Dedetwo: The first place attacked was Garkem in Cross River State and people who wrote about the war like Alex Madiebo, Cyprian Ekwensi and Frederick Forsythe all recorded that the Garkem attack was diversionary. Dedetwo:Of course the Europeans have trawlers, and vessels, and have some advanced tools that they came with, am disputing the part you mentioned the Iboes, they were not part of the early dwellers, fishermen, business men, or explorers of that region at those times.do you just believe everything you hear from your folks or Elders from your village...lol, do proper research, don't state folklores on public forums. |

distributeinc: Sadly many young nigerians do not know their origin or lineage. The majority of what you call Ijaw if checked for DNA would have a huge percentage of iGBO matches. The Ijaws were massively trading and intermarrying with igbos for over 500 years, thats why a lot of the words in most ijoid languages are the same meaning in igbo. Please read about the Aro Confederacy, Nigerian government would never let the citizens know their proper origin otherwise the balance of things in the country might change. Here is one fact you should know. Within the old Eastern Nigeria - A lot of the tribes within are displaced and are speaking a language that is not originally theirs or have moved from an original territory and is now occupying a territory absolutely far away from their origin. Hundreds of years before the name Britain was ever imagined the Aro confederacy existed with Kings And Armies from many tribes of the old east coming together to form a powerful pact, what we are now calling Ijaws (Which is a very broad term) was one of those tribes and the language of communication was actually a written one called nsidibi. Please read about this tell anyone else who doesnt know. 1 Like 1 Share |
