I am still yet to know how coaches determine a player or players performance. |

prodigyhenry:This your likes go soon turn to dislikes very soon. Guardiola had long earned his stripes as an assistant coach, and also coached a Barcelona junior team(can't remember which one). I'm sure Zidane even had more experience when he took charge of Real than Lampard has now. Chelsea are just getting way in over their heads if I must say. It ain't gonna end well believe me |

Big big risk. It can either go remarkably well or horribly wrong. There are precedents up for debate, some can be deceptively similar....Zizzou....the all conquering Pep.... debate folks. |

dapsoneh: The very best players in the world have one thing in common, glory, legacy. They will consider a big club, a vehicle with a pedigree that will enable those lofty ideals to be attained... but they will also consider the driver, the manager and consider whether he has the pedigree to get them there. How many times have we heard that a certain player signed for a certain club because of a certain manager. Just as player power in removing managers is real so is manager power in attracting players. Remember the best players also have the best support structures around them, personal managers, agents, lawyers, personal physicians, etc who know the game very well and can read the prosoects of theur clients from a mile away. That's why the best players seldom make career mistakes. You should consider what they will be thinking of a greenhorn in a club nototious for welcoming new managers with a very short rope. No one likes instability. I don't think the transfer ban is a factor in play here. |

educhigo: Hmmm... the other side that few want to consider. Failure is truly an orphan. That is how marketing works. They show you Zidane and Pep only.... and it sounds like a cool boy band. When you start counting your chickens then you know just how lousy that 'Proposal' was. Of course you didn't consider that snakes love eggs too..... Lampard the player and Lampard the coach are not the same thing. It remains a 50/50 gamble by both sides. 1 Like 1 Share |

Too early in his career. John Barnes was made Celtic manager in 1999. Like it was feared it came too early for him. He never got a break in management since. When you begin at the top, just make sure you do well. Otherwise it will become a negative reference point for years to come. Their transfer market restriction will not help after losing Hazard. He should have been made assistant to Zola and take over from Zola later. Otherwise Espirito Santo of Wolves should be getting the job. He has proven himself. |

prodigyhenry:Stop dishing out fake information. Even those you mentioned hadn't coached the top clubs before being appointed, they were part of a robust coaching crew of such clubs or had been so much around the club's overall coaching. Was Zidane not more of an assistant coach at Real Madrid before picking up the job? The truth is, Lampard is not yet ripe for the job. He still has a lot to learn as a coach. I watched a couple of his Derby games. They should have made him a coaching staff for some years to see the pressure from that side and be part of the team's analysis for a while. Giving him the role straight up is a bad decision in my opinion. |
Re: Lampard To Become Chelsea’s New Boss by naturalwaves: 7:43am On Jun 15, 2019 |
cheezy4real:Did he not meet an already well structured team? Even without a coach, they would still hold their own. Coaches have ways of structuring their teams in a certain way and coaches like Mou, Pep etc have been known to do this. Coaching a team goes beyond merely planning how the formation will be or what formation would be used. |
