you guys have a wrong notion for earning a bsc, its just a certificate like any other, your real worth lies in the value you create not the papers you carry.

thats why our govt will continue to hire expatriates because our graduates just want to sit on desks and while away time while earning fat pay for nothing.

how many lecturers earn 200k , they can only earn that by selling handouts and sorting extortion.

the job has been advertised, lazy graduates stay away, continue to eat free food in mummys kitchen.

Ask bank tellers, marketers, field sales reps how much worth they bring to their various companies infact the higher you go ,the lesser you work and the higher you earn so its not about what you bring to the table.Crazy targets with commissions that won't even cover your monthly expenses incurred on the job.

I am only looking at it from the view of the impact this will have on the individual out there,in the end ,you don't pay their bills, they do . who cares if a company decides to take only graduates for plate washer and pay them the same renumeration as a bank manager? .

If a person feels the job is beneath them, then dont apply, you are only talking about just this aspect ,do yo know that outsourcing and under employment is a more bigger problem than this? .

Underemployment is a symptom of the problem, while the actual problem is the comatose condition of Nigeria's economy. And there is nothing wrong with outsourcing it's a healthy business phenomena. Ask around and learn that it is standard management practice to outsource non-core functions in any industry.

Talking about 'the higher you go, the less work you do' just shows you are very ignorant about the structure/function of a bank. Tellers are not bankers, they are merely cashiers whose jobs will eventually be taken over completely by machines. Field sales reps and marketers are just that - salesmen. They are never bankers. Don't compare them with senior managers who have years worth of experience in credit management & trade operations, transactions processing etc Those are the bankers and naturally they get paid more.

Na because of the salary of N150k /200k. They are thinking how can we pay pesin who no go school such.

They will get more than enough applications. That's how the country be. That's what BSc BA HND has qualified to do.
Who we go blame? Or should we now demand for a law that excludes certain people with certain qualification from doing?

If to say I sabi ride bike and get license, I swear meself go apply... see salary na,

blah blah blah , This too is a symptom of Nigeria's economy, isn't it? So face the problem .

How does your submission help the average graduate on the street? People have bills to pay . salesmen with suits are no different from dispatchers ,their job description are almost if not the same ,so I don't see why you have an issue with the requirements. wearing suit and staying inside AC only to receive 40k as salary in month just because you want to keep your BSc dignity will only keep such people in the rat race.

At the end of the day ,no one cares if you wash plates as long as it pays the bills. No one is forcing anyone to apply ,Npower is still recruiting. enough already

You're the typical Nigerian graduate, always thinking about salary and short-term gains, totally ignorant and unwilling/unable to apply their intellect to creatively solve problems or think issues through. That's why they are giving you guys dispatch-rider jobs and you are happy.

and the numerous graduates and masters holders that go outside this country to wash plates and drive taxis dont care about your opinion either, so go and sit down somewhere, your opinion pays no bills .Even so called civil engineering graduates are carrying head pan under the guise of construction, eat your certificate dignity and let it fill your stomach.Passion for the job means nothing when bills are unpaid .

And since you are not a part of the typical Nigerian, how have you solved any of Nigeria's problem? Gerrarahia! undecided.

What is yhe minimum wage in your country? How much does the average graduate get paid? Even a law graduate is collecting 40k as pay. Let us not pretend there aren't Nigerian graduates that go abroad and do what Nigerians consider menial jobs like cleaning, taxi driving, babysitting, and other such things, so, let us not make blanket statements.

I know a Nigerian graduate in USA who has over ten years working experience in Nigeria, but works as a concierge in the US. When you want to say graduate, what are you talking about? You think someone having a BSc automatically makes them worthy of a white-collar job? Is it not your BSc holders that cannot construct basic sentences? BSc pass BSc, so, when you want to mention your friend, please, add things like hos course of study and skillset, because International jobs are easier to get for graduates of sciences and IT than a graduate of Arts and Humanities

Is this why you think it's normal to employ graduates as dispatch drivers. You said all this and still you didn't get the point I'm driving at.

You said "Nigerian graduates that go abroad and do what Nigerians consider menial jobs like cleaning, taxi driving, babysitting." all this jobs you mentioned, over there do they require higher institutional certificates? In America will graduates be requested to apply for a dispatch driver?

I understand things are hard but don't see it as normal, why is it every day Nigeria keeps losing her integrity, why should our graduate be taking serious internationally when in our own country graduate is been offered to apply as a dispatch drivers. We have to set our standard right from the educational root. If not I don't see reason why we waste money send our kids to universities and polytechnic only to be subjected to dispatch driver the western world don't recognise it so tell me what's the point been a graduate.
Graduate I know are of different categories yes I know even at that how many first class are employed how many are recognised internationally with Nigerian university certificates how many have reasonable jobs here in Nigeria. So yes I know there are graduates that went to school to catch fun.but do you mean the over 2 to 3million youth unemployed are dumbs.

It is RIDICULOUS it is appalling bsc holder to be subjected to dispatch driver. Even if it's 1milion a month.

The point is not all about the money. If they employ graduates as dispatch drivers please wish job will the secondary school, Nd, people that didn't go to university do. All we are saying is Nigeria is messed up. In other countries this job is not for graduates they are for people that just have basic education to read and write. That doesn't mean if you are graduate that you can't apply, you can at your will. But to specify the job to graduate standard men this country is doomed . Very soon even house help will be required to bring bsc.
Read my comment again. BTW, your assertion about situation in other countries is totally off (I've lived in 8, and visited about 20 countries).

I dont know why peoole keep saying other countries. Which countries are they referring to exactly?

I lived in the Uk and currently Canada. Apart from those that work in regulated industries like healthcare, law, engineering etc. No one really cares about your level of paper qualifications in both country, but on what you bring to the table which reflects on the remuneration attached to the job. An electrician with or without a bsc, or bsc holder credit analyst in investment banking may both be collecting 100k per yer, while a customer service rep with the same equivalent bsc may be collecting 30k per year.

New immigrants from 3rd world countries like Nigeria to Canada often see blue collar jobs demeaning, yet the blue collar pays x5 of their earnings. Bsc holders born and bred in advanced countries are rushing to get the same blue collar jobs 3rd world people tag as demeaning. Something is seriously wrong with education and how its imparted in shit hole countries. Where did all these sense of entitlement comes from?

Apply first, if you are shortlisted for interview. Come down to Lagos and get a cheap hotel to spend the night or two, after the interview return to your current location. If you get the job, take a soft loan and rent a small apartment and then pay back. Another method but a bit risky announce on Facebook or Whatsapp group of your Old secondary school classmates association that you need someone to squat with in Lagos. At least, you are familiar with them. Don't just say no. Just do something. Stop saying I can't or I don't know anybody. It only shows you are comfortable in your current state.
Thanks for the encouragement sir, I just got their interview invitation now please can you help describe the road to Adesoye str mende , Maryland, am actually coming from Osun , thank you sir.

I presume you can find your way to Oshodi. From Oshodi, board a bus to Ojota/Ketu and get down at Maryland busstop . Then take a bike to the street. Most importantly find your way to Oshodi first, you can get to anywhere in Lagos from Oshodi. You can ask for directions from drivers and conductors at Oshodi to anywhere in Lagos.
