That sister should be arrested and given 100 lashes of cane every morning.

why bring it here? get the woman arrested immediately since the evidence is still fresh make a documentation of the evidence.
involve the human right group around your area, social media trial is not enough people are best start paying taking responsibility of their actions and inactions.

Social media is actually the best place, with collective outrage it aids in getting justice. Do you think the senator would have been in trouble if the video was sent to a Nigerian police that dances to the tune of the highest bidder? They can do BOTH, go to the police and post on social media, so we the people can hold the police accountable.

Well what social media does is shine light on an issue that would otherwise be swept under the carpet. It shames responsible authorities into doing the right thing. Social media is not just about selfies.

Same thing I tell people. Social media aids justice. It also meets documentary and archival needs. Those in power, especially, fears a battered Internet and social media reputation more than court ruling. A single thread on Nairaland front-page only can gather 50k views in 3 hours. The viewers leave here to spread the message to their friends, colleagues, etc.

Who wants a silent court ruling with 5 people in attendance with a bail condition of 50k and a surety?? The perpetrators leave the court room to continue their trade.

Those who fear social media have skeletons in their closets. They're largely scammers, thieves, ritualists, and rapists. They love their reputation so much they're not willing to trade it for anything. Many of them prefer a 5 year jail term or a 1 million bail to a battered name. They know their children and grandchildren will come here to read their stories someday.

No one is saying social media is an end in itself, it is a well deserved means to an end, so no one should shut people up for speaking up on the Social Media.

really social media has it power but still necessary action should be taken like involving the police, document everything even police inventory on the phone and updating it on social media will do better.

They will still do all that, with social media's aid, the police will be held responsible for justice to prevail, that is the point she is trying to make.
