kokoye:

'Buoda mi, ka bi e wa . .mo ti j'oko si b'eee la taaro.

Ugba wo le ma de beee?'

There is just one thing that I notice in some of the earlier translations.
A typical Ekiti person will likely call his senior brother "oga-mi"rather than 'buoda-mi'
Even among the locals, the tendency however is a mixture of English and Ekiti when speaking, so the reason for such remark like:
'Buoda mi, ka bi e wa . .mo ti j'oko si b'eee la taaro'.

I have been to Mexico just once . . . .Matamaros (a lot of americans actually live there).

I just found the 'kokoye' name funny the first time I heard it and decided to use it as my handle on NL.

@ALL I am going to post a few sentence, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm having an headache - she nu orififo n gbe mi

I have no classes today, but I have exams to study for - Mi ke ni kilassi korankan leni, sugbon mi ni exam lati ka? grin

What is wrong with that child? - ki i se omo un?

how are you? - be o ni?

It's so hard to just ask for you guys to interpret. It's easier when I'm stringing up a normal conversation.

I have no classes today, but I have exams to study for - Mi ke ni kilassi korankan leni, sugbon mi ni exam lati ka?

What is wrong with that child? - ki i se omo un?

Corrections
I'm having an headache = ori 'fo mi (or) efori yomi lenu
I have no classes today, but I have exams to study for = Mi ni kilaasi konkon loni, amo mo ni udanwo lati kawe fun.
What is wrong with that child? = kai somo ni? (or) komi somo ni? (or) komi yomo ni lenu?
How are u? = ba'o ni?

There is a general word for CLASS (eko), but a typical Ekiti person will use "kilaasi" instead.

I am really happy seeing the way we are all trying to keep to our root. My little girl often refer to Ekiti dialect/language as "grandma-english" each time she hears it.
