COL 4 da main witch @ nossycheek & Babyos religion should be a tool of love. Love for God and His creation. It should not breed hate or destruction. BabyOs Reply pg2 That is my point exactly. Muslims all over the world may be facing east but they are not all facing the Kaabah, for some the kabaah is south, for others it is north. It is just elementary common sense. Isn't it sad to note that plenty of them have been releasing their number 2 in the direction of kaabah all this while Secondly how about when you guys fart,I mean pass gas,do you have to turn North or south and how do you control the direction the wind blows the odor Thanks Tellyb for that geographical expose, that's what I've been looking for let's find out those who've been facing south and never knew it!! I was not a geography student. N gwa babs, your smarts are needed now!! |

SOME MORONS NEED TO GO GET THEIR HEAD UPGRADE AND SOME DEVIL RECANATE NEED TO BE EXTINCT FROM THE FACE OF EARTH, INSHA ALLAH THE WORK OF ALLAH WILL BE DONE. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION:- WHY DO MUSLIMS FACE THE EAST WHEN PRAYING? QURAN SURA AL-BAQARAH ENG,TRANSLITERATION 142.THE FOOLS AMONG THE PEOPLE WILL SAY: "WHAT HATH TURNED THEM FROM THE QIBLA(KAABA)TO WHICH THEY WERE USED?" SAY: TO ALLAH BELONG BOTH EAST AND WEST: HE GUIDETH WHOM HE WILL TO A WAY THAT IS STRAIGHT. 143.THUS, HAVE WE MADE OF YOU AN UMMAT JUSTLY BALANCED, THAT YE MIGHT BE WITNESSES OVER THE NATIONS, AND THE MESSENGER A WITNESS OVER YOURSELVES; AND WE APPOINTED THE QIBLA(KAABA) TO WHICH THOU WAST USED, ONLY TO TEST THOSE WHO FOLLOWED THE MESSENGER FROM THOSE WHO WOULD TURN ON THEIR HEELS (FROM THE FAITH). INDEED IT WAS (A CHANGE) MOMENTOUS, EXCEPT TO THOSE GUIDED BY ALLAH. AND NEVER WOULD ALLAH MAKE YOUR FAITH OF NO EFFECT. FOR ALLAH IS TO ALL PEOPLE MOST SURELY FULL OF KINDNESS, MOST MERCIFUL. 144.WE SEE THE TURNING OF THY FACE (FOR GUIDANCE TO THE HEAVENS: NOW SHALL WE TURN THEE TO A QIBLA(KAABA) THAT SHALL PLEASE THEE. TURN THEN THY FACE IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SACRED MOSQUE: WHEREVER YE ARE, TURN YOUR FACES IN THAT DIRECTION. THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK KNOW WELL THAT THAT IS THE TRUTH FROM THEIR LORD. NOR IS GOD UNMINDFUL OF WHAT THEY DO". (YUSUF ALI TRANS.) [2:127] AS ABRAHAM RAISED THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE KAABA, TOGETHER WITH ISMAIL (THEY PRAYED): "OUR LORD, ACCEPT THIS FROM US. YOU ARE THE HEARER, THE OMNISCIENT AS A CHRISTIAN OR WHATEVER FAITH, YOU MUST HAD KNOWN THAT THE KAABA WAS BUILT BY PROPHET ABRAHAM (pbuh) AS A LANDMARK FOR THE HOUSE OF GOD ,FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF WORSHIPPING OF GOD ALONE. 1. MUSLIMS ARE FACING KAABA (THE HOUSE OF GOD) AT MECCA, THE HOLIEST OF THE THREE CITIES OF ISLAM. MUSLIMS IN OTHER COUNTRIES FACE DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS, DEPENDING ON WHERE THEY ARE IN RELATION TO MECCA.POLAR SITUATION DEPENDS ON POSITION OF PERSON ENGAGED IN PRAYERS. IT COULD BE NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, OR WEST. LET ME MAKE COMMENT ON THIS FOR SOME THICK BRAIN TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WE MEAN BY (THE HOUSE OF GOD). I KNOW QUITE WELL THAT YOU WILL COME WITH A QUESTION LIKE " DOES GOD NEED A HOUSE? DOES GOD SLEEP?" etc. WE REFERED TO KAABA AS HOUSE OF GOD BECAUSE, IT A SACRED PLACE WE WORSHIP NO OTHER gods THAN THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN,EARTH,AND HE WHO OWN OUR LIVES. "ALLAH"

@dantanee, dantanee: When you open your response with such uncouth language and shout them all in capital letters, it makes me wonder at the vacancy of thought and intelligence that we often read from you guys. Is this all that Islam has to offer; or you were just displaying your talent on the Forum? dantanee: Since the east and west are said to belong to Allah, what is so special about facing the EAST, and not rather the WEST? Notice also here that it is not a claim now about facing the Qiblah; but here it specifically mentions the directions of east and west. That is why this topic thread has been seeking for reasonable answers from knowledgeable Muslims. dantanee: If the sole purpose of appointing the Kaa'ba was only to test those who followed Muhammad, then it nullifies Muhammad's claim that the Mecca shrine was first built by Adam and then taken up by Abraham! This claim renders the whole of the Qiblah direction worthless, since there is then no substance in facing the Kaa'ba other than a simple test! dantanee: I was actually waiting for Muslims to come up with this particular ayah from the Qur'an. Two very vital questions I have always sought to ask are these: (a) Was the Qiblah in Mecca (the Kaa'ba) chosen by Allah to simply please Muhammad and Muslims? So, who is being pleased here - your Allah; or Allah is seeking to please Muhammad? (b) As regards "the people of the Book" (Christians and Jews), we know that the truth is that the Kaa'ba, the Black Stone, and the Qiblah have no place in divine worship. There is no Scripture verse or historical record that authenticate Muhammad's claims that all those issues began with Adam. What is even more, Muslims today stand embarrassed when asked these questions; for they have nothing to show as evidence for the claims made about the Black Stone and the Kaa'ba. Waht we do know, however, is that the Kaa'ba was formerly the house of idolatory and paganism before Muhammad swept other idols out of the Kaa'ba and retained the Black Stone for his new religion. Muhammad's companions also noted that the Black Stone had no special significance; and they only followed the ritual of touching and kissing it simply because they saw Muhammad doing so. They had no historical, religious or any other reason why they kissed the Stone. So, just because Muhammad made some claims about it in the Qur'an does not prove anything at all. dantanee: Neither Abraham nor Ishmael were connected to the Kaa'ba. If they were connected at all to it, then why did Muhammad at first face the direction of Jerusalem in prayer when Mecca already existed? Faced by the very embarrassing situation, Muhammad immediately offered this "revelation" to soothe the amazement of his followers. There is just no substance in that verse. dantanee: Christians and Jews know that the Kaa'ba had no connection with Abraham. Rather, it was a shrine for paganism. dantanee: In other words, they are not facing east when prayng, as Muslims have claimed previously? We have Muslims here telling us that anywhere one faces is EAST. I hope they can take correction from you. dantanee: The thick brains seem to be coming from your camp; so please educate them. dantanee: Do we then take it that the sacred place moved from Jerusalem to Mecca? And what was the reason apart from "only testing" Muhammad's companions and "Allah trying to please Muhammad"? Have you really answered the question or just displayed another midcourse dribble? |

If and when a Muslim lands on the moon, it will obviously not be possible to face the earthly Ka'bah in the service of prayer; nor to follow the sun's rising, passing the meridian and setting on Earth. What I humbly submit to the Muslim jurists is to construct a Ka'bah on the moon, at the point which would be face to face with the earthly Ka'bah, during equinox time, during a full moon night when our satellite is just above Mecca. That is, a bit North of the centre of the face of the moon that we see. I think that would lie in the region named "Ocean of Tranquillity". I am personally so much the more convinced of this solution, since the Ka'bah is not confined to the building of the ten odd yards high, but also what is above in the atmosphere up to the heaven. In a Hadith of al-Bukhari, the Holy Prophet is reported to have said that the Earthly Ka'bah is the antipode of the mosque of the angels underneath the Throne of God, (and so exactly so that if one were to throw a stone from there, it would fall on the top of the Ka'bah on earth). The great savant Ibn Kathir (Bidayah, 1, 163) reports that there is a particular Ka'bah on each of the seven heavens, each for the use of the inhabitants of that heaven. He adds (Tafsir, on surah 52, verse 4) the name of the Ka'bah on the seventh heaven is al-Bait al-Ma'mur, and that the earthly Ka'bah is at exactly the antipode of this heavenly Ka'bah. Our Ka'bah symbolizes as a window opening on the Divine Throne. If that is so, the permanent residents of the moon may even go there for pilgimage, since coming to earth for that purpose would be too much for them. This solution may help later to determine the point of the Qiblah on other stars and planets also, if man alights and settles there. It may by the way be pointed out that the days and nights on the moon are not of about 12 hours each, but of 14 days each. The timing differs on different celestial bodies. Again, if one were to travel in the space shuttle around the earth, it would normally take about 90 minutes to complete the flight. The visibility of the sun will vary according to the flight from North to South or from South to North, and also from East to West or from West to East, and also the Latitude of the earth around which the space shuttle gravitates; and time of sunrise and sunset will not be once every 24 hours, but at the most once every one and a half hour, often in a shorter time still. For us earthly passengers, earthly hours of sun's rising and setting must apply, and not those of the artifical satellites, for prayer and fasting. |

@needeg, needeeg: Abeg, have mercy on our Muslim friends. It is enough to live on earth and not on the moon. Small time now, some folks will follow your rule of thumb and carry jihad to both the moon, the stars and other entities of the galaxy! |

bari_kade: No, my dear bari_kade. They're not 'empty skits'. They may not be germane to the topic of this thread; but I tried to reason along with the message in the minds of the producers of those movies. Maybe a few mishaps here and there; but overall, I commend their efforts. . . especially at the end in part 4. |
