The kind of discipline in catholic sch is very high. If u doubt me, if u have kids send them to junior seminary for secondary sch studies when they wanna enter secondary sch. I bet u they will tell u that that place is not easy and u will be proud of them later. I went to junior seminary. Sasco (saint augustine seminary for those that know it). Those pipo were tough on us during those days. If u can survive that place for six years there's no place u cannot survive on this earth.
Then u now talk of entering the senior seminary to become a priest. That one tight pass. U may end up quiting.
What m trying to say is that this pipo give them good training, self control and discipline. Its not all about sex. They breed those pipo well oo.

I love that about the Catholics... the selflessness and dedication to the gospel.

It is their doctrines I have deep problems with... too many symbols...chalices, rosary, graven images... the chants and incantations...confessing to man when you can directly speak to God.

I mean... the Bible has a clear position on some of these things, yet they so wilfully contravene biblical teachings.

It boggles my mind really. I wish they would do away with all of those extraneous practices.

Go and read account of what happened when Christ appeared to the disciples on the Pentecost in book of John. He told the disciples that who's sin u have forgiven its forgiven and whose sin you retain is retained.
Do u remember that during Christ evangelism that he forgave sin wic let to the Pharisees and scribes to question who gave him right to forgive sin. And that was the authority that Christ passed on to the disciples on the Pentecost day.
That's one of the reasons for confession

Let me tell u. Every thing catholic does is in the bible. Catholic analyze the bible well through spiritual meditation, research and studying the culture of the Jews. Everything they do is in the bible but u have to dig deep. That's it.

lol images in the church. Catholic don't worship any image or Mary. Moses erected a serpent statue when the Israelites were beaten by snakes,moses raised the ark of God and the people bowed down and worship but are we going to say they are contradicting God's commandments? This images makes the Catholics to believe that Christ died on the cross and also the aspire to be like the saints in the statue like st Anthony, virgin Mary etc. It's just like keeping an old photo of our old loved ones in our house. Does it mean we worship them?
Penance is outward sign of inward grace ordained by Jesus Christ.
