Unfortunately, this is the ONLY thing some foreign people will KNOW about Nigeria and Nigerians...and you wonder why they give you hard time at embassies and points of entry? Nigerians use their own mouth to tarnish their own country...and they wonder why ALWAYS them...

I pray nothing stops it from airing, these lecturers need to be thought a good lesson. Most of them are too heartless.

Very heartless indeed. They ll deliberately fail students in their numbers then wait patiently for those that ll come forward to ask for favour. Gbam! fvckin spree begins be dat. Knowing that the students lack the gut to report them for fear of consequences thinking they genuinely failed. Sometimes the shameless lot ll even tax the poor students for money. Several who would rather not play ball ended up quiting the school altogether. Its sad.

Lol I cant wait for these guys to get exposed. We all knew this was an issue. Its time this issue be addressed.

Florian90:
why can't bbc say something good about Nigeria, always looking at the bad side. It's good sha, but what does say about us

Lol when Nigeria is exposed they make changes for better or worse. They would have never cracked down on codeine crazy unless they posted that documentary. I would have made that medicine by prescription only.

But at the same time, this doesn't happen to the really smart girls.

Can a lecturer really bring down an A+ student all the way down to a fail? How easy will that be ?

Must every student be A+ considering there are varying conditions.

This is absolute nonsense.

Why do we keep ridiculing ourselves before the world always.

All what this so called BBC knows about is to be sharing Nigeria bad side, As if they are saints.

Nothing goes for nothing. if you as a lady decides to trade marks for sex, fine.

Rubbish.

Is this one talk??

Not saying that! But it appears it's usually the girls who struggle academically that fall victim to these seedy lecturers. A failing student can be easily bumped up to a pass by a lecturer.

But an A+ student's grades can't easily be brought all the way down by a lecturer. That's not going to be easy. How is he going to do that?
It's like you're still in high school or yet to get admission to the university. When a lecturer wants to victimize you, it doesn't matter if the questions he gave in his exam are 3-digit addition problems!

Let them share our bad side. Do we even have any good side when a lecturer insists he must have sex with a female for mark and when the lady dare tries anything funny, the authorities won't come to her aid. The OAU lady of 2years ago was only lucky because she could prove beyond reasonable doubt that it was Professor Richard by recording the phone conversation, if not, that would also have been swept under the carpet. Abeg let them share that our bad side jor.

In as much am not support any form of gratification for marks but how I wish all Nigeria's lectures can tight their bets and stop cash or kind from students,
3 out of 10 female students will graduate and 4 out of male students will eventually become graduates.
Since the day of NECO, higher institutions in Nigeria turn to something else.

Went into the department walking towards the staff rooms, I heard a soft moan, tiptoed and behold

One of the young lecturers was busy fucckin a female student

I knocked and he nearly fainted

Ok. But how easy will it be to fail an A+ student? How is he going to cover up that discrepancy?

And your likes will keep ridiculing yourself. Are you not aware that most female students are forced into it? Like if you refuse the lecturers demand, you are certainly going to fail the course. Female students are at the mercy of Nigerian lecturers.

If they were doing the right thing this documentary wouldn't have come up.
So let them air it

We need to correct this anomaly in the university system. It is disgusting and disgraceful. In the civil climes such lecturers once reported will be in jail. Great job bbc.

It's as easy as writing negative comment on the script (eg 'bad, unruly and disrespectful behavior towards lecturers including me') and then mark everything the student wrote as zero.

That's the mistake you're making. There are so many ways these lecturers frustrate different categories of students. Some can organise missing scripts and make sure the person keeps writing the same paper... It's not always about intelligence. But once they mention sexual harassment, what comes to mind is the not so intelligent students, which is not always the case. As a matter of fact, some target the intelligent ones and tag them "proud" or "disrespectful"...

I don't pray for anyone to be a victim of these evil men cos it could be very frustrating.

A 3rd class student can be easily failed. Not a high performing student.
