go there and see how Mimiko left the capital city and compare it with how late Agagu left it maybe you'll get your answer(s).

I don't understand.

But what exactly would you suggest, ideas etc?

I saw a master plan for somewhere in the southern part of the state (there's a website I think), what they want done and are working towards at some point. Do you have any thing similar you could mention?

you have time for the mo.ro.n. If you'd said something about any state in their yeast, they'd have mentioned you with alot of accusations. I really love how you ony talked about states from yorubalands only and ignore rest. That's how i really want it from my fellow yoruba brethrens. If it's not yoruba or our lands, then it's not worth it at all. I hardly open any thread that doesn't have to do with Yorubas.

I will be opening a thread about the Okun people(The yorubas in Kogi) soon, i'll mention you there.

And by the way, are you from Ondo state?

Yeah bro, I’ve always maintained that we should discuss about the Yoruba land only but the reason why sometimes I had to reply those folks is when they are tryna hate on us.

Yes, mention me on the thread and I’ll love to contribute and know more about the Okun people.

I’m from Oyo state but I graduated from FUTA in Akure. So I know more about Ondo state too.

I bet you, you can never find any SW state(apart from Lagos) that is listed above any SE states in Google. Take your time and check through google.

Lol, so Abia is developed than Ogun state. Even google will be ashamed of your lies.

Anambra,Enugu and all the Eastern Igbo states joined together do not have as many educational, industrial etc infrastructures up to Ogun state.

The only developed states in what you posted are...
Lagos,Ogun,Rivers and Akwa Ibom.Anambra is the most developed state in the SE but below Ogun state in industries, higher institutions, infrastructures etc. Moreover, only Ibadan city is more developed than the entire Igboland.

Do you have these in the entire Igboland.

well, a capital city will be hosting different visitors(diplomats, tourists and all), hence it should be a city built to standard, beautiful, good and standard road networking, basic amenities and all. Both late Adefarati and late Agagu didn't do all these, they abandoned the city for their hometowns instead. So the city was in a shadow of it's own even as the capital. It was Mimiko that laid hand on it, beautify it to some extent, buit roads, modern garages, save the city from thugery and this bropught about many developments. Akure is one of the cleanest cities in the country presenty, the beauty isn't yet fully achieved buh with this present admin, i believe it will mopve forward even though this present admin is majorly interested in developing ore to become a standard industrial hub buh the legacy he met woudn't let him abandon the city.

We still have a long way to go, Netherlands is half the size of Niger state, they make $100b annually from agriculture. This means that Niger state has a capacity of $200b if agriculture resources are developed. I strongly believe that in four years with the right equipments Niger state can make $2b annually. Can you imagine osun state being the headquarters of sheabutter in the world or Anambra the world largest producer of oil palm. Our governors are mentally lazy that's just the truth, as a governor they can create agriculture reserved areas with offices were farmers can lease fertilizer, tractors, pesticides, drip tech equipments. The Government can set up a company to buy the produce from the farmers sell and make a profit. There are other ideas like tech zones and manufacturing zones the possibilities are endless, all this going to Abuja for survival is not sustainable.
God bless you with more wisdom. I WISH they will LISTEN and learn. But in Nigeria they only want power and money to make them feel superior to others.

What is happening to Ogun state? Could it be because of the change of government from Amosun to Abiodun that affected them like this. Their IGR should be more than this coz that state got a lot of prospect that can be harnessed. Anyway there is still time for growth. Abiodun should start working and he should make sure the IGR translates to real growth to the people.

Osun is really trying tbh and Ondo is upping their game as usual.
Ogun state decline is as a result to bad politicking while osun state success is as a result of continuity.

Disappointed for what?

There is money in the states u just mentioned, but the government don't have means of collecting revenues there.

It is where u sow u reap, abia and Anambra is more of individual wealth not government attached wealth

Because it is wrong to collect taxes from individuals and their businesses just because it is individual wealth. Because there is no government in both states with annual revenue and expenditures. Because the governments in both states don't have employees in term of career officials and political appointees.
If the state governments is ready to boost their IGR, everyone will comply las las

wow. It's wonderful to know. It seems yolicom isn't really serious then. Cuz many of us are seriously ready to damn all the consequences but we have to avoid different ideologies. I have seen ipokia local govt (ogun state) youths marching for same course many times and my local man cannot but well pleased.

It's just a matter of time which i know won't be long anymore before most of our kinsmen will support the movement and that'll be the beginning of the new blessed country man.

We shall all be alive to witness the blessed country(amen).

I was digesting and analysing the report wondering where is Ogun State, querying why are they not so conspicuous, then I scrolled down and the first comment was yours.

Ogun is really underperforming with the level.of industries within the state. Atleast if they are low on other indices and metric they should be up in IGR growth year on year. With this we can.assume they are having a systematic growth that will take strategic period but with the state being lost in almost all metrics it calls for a major dialogue...sadly so

you are half right. One of the problems is our structure. Competitive agriculture such as you describe require large scale participants, people who can farm 5, 10, 20K hectares at a go. The problem with that is, if you incentivize a large company to set up in your state, you will only get crumbs. 1st because that kind of large scale agriculture does not employ many people, machines do all the work, so you dont really get commensurate benefit of employment. Also when the company then makes a huge profit, the taxes go to FIRS to be shared with other states and because you wont employ many people, your IGR from income taxes on jobs created wont be comsensurate with the investment. If you decide to incentivise local farmers, will small farms or 1-2 ha (which is what we are doing) they wont pay taxes because their income is too low and their output will not be competitive on the international market. So why would any governor be keen when there really is no gain for him or his state.

Hence until we restructure (fiscally at the very least) we arent going anywhere.
