I will start by saying that all academic disciplines, and certainly social sciences, are in fact based on the principles of logic. The scientific method itself is essentially a chain of logical statements that allow one to deduce “truth” when faced with a question. economics principle were majorly founded on logics .

Basic logics tells that importation itself is not harmful for an economy that takes competitive advantage . just for the second quater , Saudi Arabia export about 6 hundered thousand of oil to USA.

You don't use logic in economics, rather we use quantitative, qualitative and mathematical approach to solve mans problem. This is not philosophy and other social science related issues... Importation is harmful to the local economy when it exceed total export. In this case rice importation does more harm to our local manufacturers..

All this fundamentals you made mention above are simply an art of logic. mathematics itself is rooted in logic . Once you separate logic out of any economic discipline, you are discussing pseudo economics. read up

The essence of importation is to create economic opportunities, it only become harmful to economy when the potential is not properly annexed ..... America balance of trade suggest import exceed export . and yet it has the most attractive economy, depending on your production and industrialization capacity, Your demand for importation may exceed exportation. as regards to Nigeria, the demand of consumption far exceed production and logics determine it should be augmented.

The idealogy that a country should embark and promote exports and discourage imports fall back to an old and flawed economic policy called ""Mercantilism"", which was in vogue before Smith wrote ""Wealth of Nations" To put Smith view simply, a country does not become wealthy by promoting exports and discouraging imports, but through productivity.

You can't use logic to solve economic problem. Logic is filled with so many errors, hence we use statistical and mathematical approach. For the record America's export exceed whatever she import. That is a country with so many industries serving each sector of the economy. Its so resilient that China can't stand her even with cheap goods and devalued Yuan..

it is unfortunate you aren't informed yourself . statistical and mathematical approach are all models of logics. and I am surprised you can't understand ? what kind of education do you received? And for your info, America import exceed its export . You only need to do your research pls.

China trade policy of recent has made America and Trump policy humble . You don't draw war trade with country that has a significant competitive advantage .

Do you use logic for integral calculus? You want to tell me operation research uses logic to arrive at different variables? Logic is stone age approach when you want solve real economic problem.. The Chinese is not as competitive as the Americans. They practice the best free market economy anywhere in the world, unlike the Chinese where the govt controls what comes in..

You keep disappointing me ? One of the definitions of the word “calculus” is “a system of calculation or reasoning. this is are simply benchmark used in logic.

All principle of academic discipline fall back to logic not even computer science excape it. logics is about reasoning using deductive , inductive and abductive reasoning which embedded the use of calculation and graphical representation of presenting data to formulate information. no discipline excape logic. you can't even discuss academics without logic .

Chinese doesn't need to be competitive as America, she only needs to have competitive advantage . and now America has understand how trade work better.

Nigerians don't need cheap goods, Nigerians need jobs and employment opportunities.

Tell the transgressing and leeching countries to obey the existing ECOWAS protocols and things would go back to normal since those leeching ECOWAS countries had decided to make it so, what is the Nigerian government supposed to do, allow it continue?
You signed up to something and yet going against it because of your personal gain.

I don't understand you shallow Buharists , what is the customs service at borders meant for ? Are you saying West African countries should come a manage you border vigilance for you? We're borders and customs service not created in the first place to detect and stop illegal goods from coming into the country ? My friend the borders have always been closed to illegal goods and smugglers right from the day they were created so this Buhari closure is only affecting legit exporters and importers
