grin grin When they have greener pastures already. I went for a party recently and I saw a very senior specialty nurse and a consultant physician who were once in a teaching hospital. Both were already working abroad, but were collecting Naija salaries pending when they are eventually fished out as ghost workers. This can take 6-12months in some cases. No naija boy will leave his job without a second option

Just see your mentality, hospital is in poor condition( that is the action in the whole article) but ur envy and hatred for doctors no go let u see road. Import ur own doctors
What is envy and hatred there?
If work conditions dont favour you, leave the work. That's what happens in civilized societies. Am I the one that made the hospitals the way they are?
The government doesnt care. The citizens themselves dont see value in human lives and also dont care. If you have nothing of substance to say simply pretend you didnt see my post nigger

10 consultants and 36 resident doctors resigned from just one hospital because of poor condition of service. Going by what they keep deluding themselves with, one will expect a doctor working in any hospital in that region to be feeling like he/she is in US. angry

If this were to be even in a privately owned hospital somewhere in the north or west, insults down to forefathers of the zones would have pushed this thread into the 4th page by now.

But in this case, watch how poor condition of service in a state-owned hospital becomes a case for the whole of Nigeria. cheesy

That's why I don't listen to their on line ranting. Anambra is one of the states that pays lowest to civil servant in Nigeria. This is not hearsay, I witnessed it in 2011, when these Medical doctors in Anambra went on strike for over 6 months, during Peter Obi tenure

Leadership by example. If the President cannot be bothered to fix the Aso Rock hospital which is primarily there for him and instead flies to London regularly for medical reasons, how do you expect Governors to be motivated to fix state hospitals?

This makes a whole lot of sense considering that lots of drs are migrating to other countries for better job pay and security.

Do u know how much they receive per month?

Drs in Nigeria suffer a lot. Even those in the best private hospitals. Most are leaving to join "drs across the border".

I am aware about this. And also aware that they would have preferred staying and working in Nigeria.
I know of medical students who are writing PLAB exams in their final med. Nigeria has a medical crisis in their hands and they seem to be pretending one doesnt exist.
I am fairly certain that these Drs in this article must have relocated abroad. Those who know, know. Sadly, most are pretending or denying the existence of such a crisis.

This people are naturally criminals.
Always blaming others for atrocities committed in their region instead of condemning the criminal.

Anambra pay low to state teaching hospital and not owing, but two states managing one teaching hospital can't even pay workers for months

When I visited this hospital in 2013, this hospital was in order. Equipments were standard and treatment was 98%free.

Maybe some1 diverted the hospital equipment to his or her private hospital. poor maintenance and misused of the available medical equipments by them must have lead to this.
once something is from govt, many won't care to maintain it.
well, the gov't should help them.

I have taken a relation to the hospital before. The doctors are hard working but grumble about their low pay and tough working schedule anytime you go as patient. I learnt their pay for the specialist doctors is as low as 135k. Which country pays a doctor that low when junior doctors abroad earn 1M and above.I later learnt the doctor managing my relation has left for abroad.

shocked shocked
135k for a specialist?
No wonder they all left undecided
As at 8yrs ago when I did my service,a friend in the camp said she was paid 130k to work 1 yr as Dr without borders before she went for service. A new Dr that didn't have any working experience yet o. Just imagine.
Shame on these politicians.

Is the report of this thread true?
From the way ur asking dis question, its obvious u want the ansa to be 'yes' so u can mock the east.
But ask urself, how possible is it that some persons after suffering to get a job in a country of high rate of unemployment like Nigeria and is well paid, will choose to resign from the work they managed to get and probably end there means of living simply because the facilities are poor, not because they were said to have gotten a better job. Before they got the job they knew this is Nigeria not America.

Dr okani is not worth being a leader,he has no quality of leadership in his life, nobody resigned in Amaku,Amaku is conducting a promotion exercise ,since the regime of the formal CMD Dr Ikeako, they where no promotion in the hospital,no condition of service ,now the new CMD has made all this available for the workers of COOUTH,thanks to the Dr Willie Obiano for his love for Amaku,he has supplied the equipment he promised in other to move Amaku forward, now Amaku has 48hrs power supply, just that Okani and his people don't love the good work in Amaku,so my people Amaku is ok,thanks to Obiano and the CMD Dr Basil Nwankwo for thier good job.
