codemaniacs: These are not "other people" they are black and African too. This is what I'm saying. What do you mean by condescending? I'm sorry! They have better experience and knowledge and you expect them to sit around and accept mediocrity? Funny how you all want African countries to advance but you don't want to do what it takes. You want to think the same. Anybody who tries to rock the boat is accused of thinking they are better. Stay the way you are now. Crabs in a barrel. 1 Like |

vRendoh:These slave were not just selected among different clans and sold by their various chiefs to the white man. That was not how it happened .according to history, in the ancient time, there were various inter-ethnic clashes among various kingdoms and it is only ideal as at that time that any kingdoms or prisoner captured will be treated as a commodity and sold.Sometimes among wealthy men in various villages as domestic or commercial laborers...but not seen as slave. Some of these prisoners were fortunate to be treated nicely and became a part of the house hold of their captures. An example is Jaja of Opobo who was sold locally into slavery and he one day became the king of Opobo. So it goes in either ways, is either you are sold locally or across the Atlantic. Though there were some pockets of Kidnapping from various villages by poachers who saw how lucrative the slave trade was but It has never been heard that Villagers will sell their own or condone such thing in their villages. However, they will not bling an eye if people from another kingdom they saw as enemies were sold. . My great great great grand uncle was a high chief during his time. He secretly sold some of the children of the village to poachers.Though there was suspicion but the people were too afraid to confront him because he was powerful and very fetish, so they could not question him. However, It took a joint venture from his five brothers to battle with him until he was banished from the village. The people he sold were never heard from again. It was until 1994 that his descendant whom still retained their fathers name were reunited back to the family and their village. They knew their fore-bearer was banished but they did not know why. My grand mother use to sing about the event back in the 80s whenever she is engage with her domestic shores. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Never read I a well and truthfully crafted article as this in a long while. I have always found it disconcerting that a significant number of African - American children are raised by single mothers who have to work multiple jobs to provide for their children because the father's are not taking responsibility. That further widens the generational decline in morals, values, and discipline. 5 Likes |

The lack of wisdom is the cause of this sentiment. If you goto university most of those walls are torn down. Educated people are used to interacting with other races. Never have these issues at work. Perhaps it's cause of how I 'look' |

ogbuefi677: I am sorry if I came across as harsh. I am African and I hate the fact that we perpetuate the myth that African Americans are inferior to us. In every group there are always bad eggs and it always unfair to tar everyone with the same brush. Billionaire Robert F. Smith who pledged to pay off student loan debt for an entire graduating class is African American. Tyler Perry who just opened a movie studio is African American. These are just a few of the African Americans who are doing great. There are a lot of African Americans who are thriving but you do not hear about them. When your relatives disparage African Americans tell them to broaden their horizons and be more open-minded. We Africans are not better than African Americans. There have been so many Africans who have been arrested for wire fraud and Medicaid fraud. Is it because they are white-collared crimes, we think these fraudsters are better than drug dealers? 7 Likes |

1Sharon:You are not enligtened on the history of africa or simply playing dumb.Africa was ravaged for hundreds of years, first of her people then her resources. Any insurrection during the period of her resource ravage was met with utmost violence. From German-Namibia-to King Leopold Congo-then to Kenyas' Mau Mau.What about Rhodesia and the atrocities that occured there?Or Ethiopia that was illegally annexed by Italy and the rest of the world including the league of nations turned a blind eye to?Same thing happened to Rwanda in 1994 but look at how she has risen from the ashes today. What about the proxy wars that were fought in Africa between the US and USSR in the 60s,70s and 80s? Yet here we still are.Striving for our betterment despite all odds 2 Likes |

codemaniacs: Why are you saying they have a superiority complex? Are you projecting? This is the same case in Nigeria abeg. Nigerians come from abroad and some of them are killed off cos of insecure Africans and some of them that criticise and try to shake things up are are accused of being self-hating and thinking they are better. A confident person cannot be made to change their ethnic name and culture. When Africa was colonised, why did they reject the technology and accept religion? |

Through love, unity and peace, the chinese stood up to withdraw as inferior, and sit and reason together to become superior as a nation. Hence the self dependence, stiffen penalties of the law, all round inventions, infrastructures, agricultural sufficiencies, herbs and roots dependence, home work/economic activities, internal monetary circulation, high birth rate, international spying and hijacking of knowledge, traditional language and education, etc.... Buhari is trying imitate this pattern but won't be easy because of indifferences and glaring nepotism. Black race need to reason together and act uprightly. codemaniacs: |

At the end of the day Africans need to get over the illusion that whites love them more than AA's. They might tolerate you more because they see you as less threatening, but all that fawning and kissing up to whites in Africa especially on NL that you people do is also one of the cause of the rift when you bring that attitude to America. At least that was one of their complaints from monitoring predominantly AA online forums. 6 Likes |

The African American ideology has been bought right from slave trade period, they only reason one way and don't want to diversify their thinking towards any other means in order to make impact in their neighborhood. African emigrants reasoning is beyond that and its channeled on how to make it and start a new life back home. In other word I have this LG H-900 Smart phone with finger, 64gig 4glt no fault. 07062641000 |

sisipelebe:I get what you mean but the fact is you are still a nigga to the white Americans. Dont think your accent saves you.. Your face still looks like them. The bank you talked about, a Nigerian doctor went to a bank to withdraw money, the white lady refused to pay him because he had lots of money. She called the police on the Nigerian doctor.. You see, that white lady saw him as a nigga whether you from Africa or Caribbean, you still a nigga. So dont feel so fly as you were treated positively in the bank. These white are FOREVER evil. I rather fuvck with a black American than the white. 6 Likes 1 Share |

vaca1: That's incorrect. We should learn to disagree without feeling offended. The first part is correct- namely, Africans generally prefer mingling with other Africans The second part is not 100% correct- since Africans do live in predominantly AA neighborhoods |
